@@KabodaOfficial you ride in it, but as great as the Abrams has been, it faces new threats. You seen all the drones videos and Javelin videos of Russian tanks blowing up from top attacks. Luckily the army is FINALLY wanting the new tank the Abrams A3 version since they stopped the sep 4 version. it's just now how quickly they can put out a new tank within the next 10 years. The Abrams isn't going anywhere for a while.
Imagine being an Iraqi rocketeer, you have your RPG-7 You see an Abrams, you fire, direct hit, you start to celebrate, then…. The turret turns towards you…. You see the 120mm shell, it’s cutting through the air like a knife…
I feel like it would be more like: Fire, turret cheek hit, dust cloud, cheering, cloud clears, Abrams is staring at you, TkkTkkTkkTkk, 7.62 to the chest.
The Abrams is an absolute legend and I believe it is still the best tank on earth. The Abrams X looks pretty insane and will (if fielded) completely put to rest any ridiculous critic claiming American tanks don’t own the battlefield. Crazy to me that there are actually human beings out there who think the talked up Russian garbage T14 is superior to the Abrams.
I believe the most likely scenario will be the US army adopts certain aspects of the X and integrate them into the existing fleet. I'm sure this is part of the new M1E3 Abrams program currently underway.
Vert much so. What I like about the American M1A2 SEPV3 Abrams it is considered in my opinion an advanced warfare veteran and has seen various advanced upgrades due to that fact.
I see this and I’m very humbled by your kind words, thank you :) And of course I will in time cover this likely in my Challenger 3 video when I get around to it, as it’s the perfect opportunity - if not then its own video!
After the Abrams X, where are tanks going from here? Russia has nothing to field that's comparable, I mean, they wish the T-14 was, but like everything else Russian, they don't have the tech they claim they do, what they do have doesn't work, and if it did work they can't actually produce it or it relies entirely on off the shelf American technology! Solar ewe just looking at evolutions of Merkava's, Leopards and Abrams dominating until 2100?
I mean, what else is there? With top attack becoming more and more prevalent and frankly OP against heavy armor, we could see the rise of CV90120 like vehicles. Light tanks, in other words. Preferably with well armored crew capsules and remote turrets. Another field of advancement is the main armament. Direct energy, air burst autocannons, guided Hydra APKWS equipped with Nammo 12km motors, with hunter killer lase for organic anti UAS capabilities. Also expect new propellant technologies. Light gas gun seems promising, but ruggedization and armored storage remains challenging to implement. However, with remote turrets and hermetic armored crew capsules, catastrophic light gas explosions could be F kills and not K kills. But yeah, expect the same old chassis, new hybrid electric powerplants, better transmissions, and bolted on combat modules on top of main turret to serve organic counter UCAV functions. As long as parts are available or upgraded modules can avoid the problem of out of production spares, there's no reason to abandon existing chassis. Drop in new weapon systems and upgraded automotive assemblies as far as the architecture will allow. Once space or onboard power can't keep up, then we'll see new platforms.
The Abrams X isn’t going into service ever Maybe a part of the Abrams X, like the fire controls, or the thermo sights, or maybe the upgraded power pack But not the whole Abrams X It’s merely a tech demonstration vehicle Aka, a sales pitch “Buy an Abrams, and you could get any of these goodies” type deal The Abrams X isn’t even something the U.S. army even wants
