Now I'm looking for a Super small Mini ITX case that supports a single slot GPU, Any Suggestions?
There are the Dell Optiplex and Lenovo Thinkstation P3xxx/P3 Mini 1L systems that can take a single slot GPU.
Didn't you just build a small footprint pc with the 8700G with a white case that had a single slot gpu about two weeks ago. See if it will fit in that one.
A lot of the cheaper ITX cases on aliexpress are single slot half height. They lean cheaper because single slot is less desired. Notably, there is a ~40 dollar case that is an all-plexiglass design that would be a cool micro RGB build (doing that as a project is in my back pocket)
I have the sff a4000 ada and I need a smaller cooler on it lol Put it in the minis forum ms01
But this is such a bad gpu, it costs more than a 3070 while delivering 3050 performance. It's a ridiculous idea that you want a professional (before known as Quadro) in a gaming pc.
Hey there, thanks for the very nice review of my heatsink! In case anyone is wondering, the card runs pretty hot because the stock fan curve doesn't ramp up the card higher than about 50% ever. While very quiet, you can set a custom curve to get it a bit cooler but it should be good nonetheless. The PTM7950 pad will also get better after a couple of heating cycles.
I am really grateful you are helping the community by selling this design. A number of people want 12GB VRAM in their mini pc and this is a great new way to achieve that with an A2000. Do you know when you will get new stock of these coolers?
Would be b3 better to run the fan off of a mobo fan header
These heatsinks are what the sff gpus from nvidia should be. All that volume in the dual slot factory design is just lazy engineering with all thay wasted space. Will be buying an rtx 4000 sff ada when they become available. Insane power in a LP single slot card.
@@candyred3v There is no way to make a fan curve that responds to gpu temperature using the bios fan controls. This means either you have the fan responding to cpu temperature (which is completely illogical for a gpu fan) or you need extra fan control software in your os to control it properly (which adds additional unnecessary bloat)
@@Bajicoy Next batch should arrive in about 3 weeks
If I went to LAN parties anymore, the size to performance would be great for that use case. I miss those days. Thanks for this.
If I ever go to one my iiyama MM904UT / VisionMaster Pro 455 is coming weth me and using half of the available voltage to the building. :P
are those still a thing? Or does everyone just play online in their bedrooms/basements like a hermit?
@@SeeJayPlayGames I'm sure someone, somewhere hosts them. I don't know anyone though. We are all even bigger introverts with tech the way it is now LOL.
I don't miss the days of lugging around my 21" CRT *whew*
@@wilsonicsnet On the plus side, it'd put some muscle on you for sure!
Single slot cards are extremely underrated and need to go more mainstream. It's so important to have them for low power and small builds!
I love that the end that mounts to the case is left open so the fan can actually blow the heat OUT of the case. It's about time someone designed a low-profile cooler like that. Thanks for the coverage on this.
Edging to this rn

Love the conversion to a super compact build. It's the opposite of my 2060. Got an EVGA 3Slot itx card.
This is incredibly impressive, would love to use something like this for my cyberdeck
Im pretty happy with how this turned out for sure
Theres RTX 4000 ADA SFF
Won't that be tough to power?
@@naoseiquela00 Yeah, but at $1500 it's almost the same price as a 4090... You can build this entire system for about $1150.
😮
N3rdware seems to make really nice stuff. Got my A2000 cooler on the way, cant wait
Fascinating stuff. Great video. This is really interesting. Didn't know you could even get custom GPU coolers.
I really appreciate the fact that they give the exhaust somewhere to go. Just looking at the XFX 6400, or the Arc A310, you can see how they have terrible airflow. Been waiting a while for this to come out and I'm happy to see how well it performs.
You can Put A310 SFF cooler on a A380 SFF Card and Work. But A2000 is much faster.
I have the A2000/6GB on my main system. I use it mostly for video calls (with Nvidia Broadcast) and a bit of Adobe Lightroom. It works like a charm. Even a bit of gaming too. I would highly recommend boosting the fan speed as the memory can get pretty hot (100C), usually 10C above the GPU itself. I think this card is the best price/performance you can get right now.
Man that cooler looks so slick I love it!
I can get a LP 4060 undervolted to 70W. Would love to see that cooler fitted to one of those.
Omg yes pls
That would be a baller card. It would basically become the 4060 Mobile, but that really isn't much slower at all. I wonder how something like a low-power 4050 Mobile would do in a passive card given they go down to like 35W.
Unfortunately the 4060LP isn't suited for a low profile cooler due to the tall caps and stacked IO :(
Tell me how?
@@RandomPlay___ You just drag the sliders down in something like Afterburner. I wouldn't touch voltage much on the 40-series cards. Just cap the power and let it adjust as needed automatically.
Looks great
Need more of these
I'm excited to see what can be achieved in this form factor in 2-3 years!
If you add a small amount of foam padding around the fan and the mesh sidepanel you can decrease temps another 10-20% with a much lower curve. Ideal for shoving it in a cabinet or desk drawer.
I have had the a2000 for almost a year now and it's great
Incredible video 👍 congrats
Man, this video came out like a month late.
I've been looking for a single-slot solution for my A2000 (+Optiplex 9020) and just spent ~$90 on mods and took an angle grinder to the stock heatsink. This cooler looks like it'll perform better than my "solution" at the same price, so I'll definitely get one.
As for overclocking, the A2000 is hard limited to 70W, so you'll hit a power limit before a temp or voltage limit. You can shunt mod it to pull more than 70W, but then you risk burning the PCIe slot on your motherboard.
£569 in the UK right now. Yikes.
Strange. I got mine for £230 some 18 months ago (the 6GB version) form eBay. Used but like new.
600€ is 12gb Version 😜
@@jaffarbhthat price before AI boom maybe ?
@@frankwong9486 Probably!
Can get a 3090 for that
That single slot cooler is killer ^_^
Got mine for $185, the dual slot works fine for me but interesting to see that there is a decent option if i want to go single slot.
Can't wait for you to make a video on the A1000 when it comes out
Same really curious how it compares to the a2000
please make more videos with benchmark of this. its really impressive
This is my dream build. A2000s used are so cheap in my place, usually cheaper than $130. But the CPU side of things, not so much.
the black box would love this
I have a bunch of SFF PCs and have dreamed about an A2000 as long as I've known about it I'm glad to see they've made basically a 1u version of it. Server gaming anyone?
What I am now missing is a fitting external drive enclosure from minisforum for this in order to add up to 6 3,5“ harddrives. This would make this mini pc the perfect all in one nas, (retro)gaming, hypervisor and home automation server. I really would like to see minisforum coming up with a way to add hdds in an additional case to this mini pc
There's significant gap between shroud and fan, i'm pretty sure that any kind of overlapping sticker will make cooling a tiny bit better on this one.
I have an a2000 12GB from work that no one needed sitting in a HP Z5 SFF workstation with an i9 10900. Hoping to get it set up with proxmox and plex transcoding someday.
This is actually sick for an HTPC or a special purpose gaming system. I’d probably want more performance than even the A4000 could give in an HTPC, and I’m less limited on size but this is still a ton of performance density. Throw this in an arcade machine or something and you’d be gold.
The ADA version of the A2000 was released recently. As you mentioned about it possibly being cool to have frame gen around 11:00.
The RTX 2000 Ada generation seems a little nerfed when it comes to it's core config, though if considered that ADA is a more efficient architecture, it should perform better.
Would love to see a comparison between the two someday!
Need this company to make Arc A310/A380 single slot coolers fr
we need a RTX A4000 Build soon ETA.
This is fantastic, my MS-01 is coming next week and that is the perfect solution, very good performance, without breaking the bank. Thanks!
Am I crazy or isn't it pronounced "Mini's Forum" as in Mini PCs Forum? I always assumed that until I started watching your channel. I think that makes sense considering they make mini PCs, haha.
Anyway, great video. I love this idea. I've been 3D printing SFF custom cases lately and converting my A2000 to single slot would open up a lot of doors for that. Now they just need to do the same for the Gigabyte 4060 low profile.
** OH DANG they have a shorter 4060 mod already, that's pretty cool.
I am truly rooting for more single slot LP cards to release. The N.U.C's future lies in the hands of GPU manufacturers.
That's awesome!
It's so weird and at the same time familiar looking at the skewdriver you're using since I've got the same set. Oria, right? 🙂
I'm also impressed by the n3rdware cooler. A bit expensive but it seems worth the money.
Love the videos!!! FYI - Tried to use the the link to get Office for $59.00 and it didn't work. Came out to almost $100.00
Super Amazing, maybe I need to use that kind of fan with a rtx 4060lp to make a setup inside of a Xbox one x.
For such a small form factor, the performance looks great.
Which keyboard are you using in this video?
That cooler "may" also work with new A4000 SFF ada... and that will be a killer sff single slot gpu.
A killer sff gpu indeed.. And the victim is your wallet.
The nice thing about the A2000 is that you can actually undervolt it a little, either to reduce the powerdraw by 5-10 watts, or to have more consistently high clocks, at least my A2000 performs better with a custom voltage/frequency curve, higher clocks and slightly lower powerdraw.
Also, despite the RTX A4000 being named '4000' it is actually still on the Ampere architecture, the same as the RTX 3000 series, so it might not have frame gen... but it's still RTX 3070 ish performance at 75 watts if I remember correctly, which is some incredible efficiency.
Have you looked at pairing this with the BD790i? If you thought about it and decided not to what held you back? By SFF case what are you looking for? Just size or footprint. I am itching to find a nice vertical Low profile case. Like the corsair 2000d but slimmer with not less mesh/breathability.
Looks like a real nice GPU there. Too bad it won't fit in my MinisForum HX90. At least the integrated Radeon holds up decently.
So far I've settled for RX 6400 in my Jonsbo N2. It too has only 1 lp slot.
Would be interesting to see the powerdraw and av1 encoding speed to see if it works well for jellyfin/plex
AV1 encoding requires an Ada gpu, basically the next gen after this thing.
They have the RTX 4000 ada and RTX 2000 ada for 1250/625 usd respectively on nvidia's site, but they havent hit the used market yet.
The 4000 ada came out last summer and the vendor of this mod will release the 4000 ada mod next month.
The 2000 ada came out 2 months ago and seems to be about 50% better than the gpu in the video, but the guy who makes the mod can only start working on it after their 4000 ada mod is done
I'm going for the same use case and i wanna get to use the RTX VSR upscaler on non 4k HDR content from my library, and ive confirmed that does work on the a2000, so its not a total loss
Now I wonder how good this MS-01 would be with A2000 for Music Production
Very nice, just hard justifying the overall spend after modifications are considered. Not sure why manufacturers aren't trying harder in the SFF space, it seems to be gaining appeal. I'm happy with the 3x P1000 cards I picked up last week for $50 in total ($17 per card!). Perfect to outfit my Dell SFF units with.
Wait, you've run Helldivers II on iGPUs? Would love to see a video on that. My RX6400 struggles with it on low settings.
Pleeeeease make A1000 single slot videos. Ooof. So exciting.
Perhaps with 32gb of ddr4 3600mhz cl16 and the i7 12700k equipped with the anti bending buckle.
I'm wondering if you could do the same with the new RTX 4000 Ada. It has inherited the same low profile enclosure from the A2000, but can provide double performance.
Rtx 2000 ada would have been nuts.
Anyhow, stock shroud is so uncomfortably loud! How does the new fan noise profile compare??
this is that, this is a rtx a2000
@@betag24cn I think he ment the newly announced RTX 2000 ADA generation 😊
@@GuilleAcoustic oh, ok, i must be confusing names
The guy who made this mod is working on a mod for the 4000 ada that releases next month and he confirmed on discord the other day that the 4000 sff ada cooler wouldnt fit the 2000 ada exactly, so once hes done with the 4000 ada he'll start working on making the adjustments for the 2000 ada
Or rtx a2000 Blackwell.
Someone should totally make something like this for the 3050 6g
Is just a shame that he didn't show how the assembly of the new heatsink was, if only he did this would also be a great tutorial
My suggestion is to test nvk linux driver and check if steam big picture will be good in a few months.
Linux is changing quickly on nvidia side.
Was hoping this was a review for the A2000 ADA 16gb, any chance of that coming?
picked mine up a few months ago, works great in a dell optiplex i took from the the job
Those bombers in COD are ridiculous lol
You want to know how pricy the RTX 4000 sff is? Even the low profile GPU guys are like, “ yeah, no, that’s way too much for me dawg.”
Who needs a double shot when you've got a single slot RTX A2000? Gaming performance in a slim package, just like my gaming skills! 🎮😂
I'm holding for the A4000 SFF version, to be released. THAT would be the supreme GPU for small form factors.
Oh, so this work with the A4000??? Geez, I should've buyed that... 🤦♂
What is the A4000 equivalent to?
@@garystinten9339 Actually, my mistake: there is a page for the A4000 version in the N3rdware website, but it seems it's the same cooler.
@@garystinten9339 Apparently the a4000 ada lovelace version (not to be confused with the ampere version) is comparable to a 3070, but with more vram (there is a 20gb version). That level of performance seems not that much better than the a4000 ampere, but the ampere predecessor uses significantly more power.
@@rodrigomolinsky The A4000 SFF (Ada generation) has a MSRP of like $1400+
The A4000 SFF is 70W
The A4000 is 150W.. So don't expect to put a A4000 in a mini PC.. You won't be able to provide the extra power it needs.
whats crazy is I was thinking about how I could 3d print one to possibly shove this in my ms-01 for AI models
One of the fews LP gpu of the market that's actually is less than 175mm. For instance, RTX 3050 LP is 181mm, so it won't fit in some SFF case.
What would be the cons of using a "professional" GPU for gaming instead of a dedicated gaming card?
Given the price of the a2000 vs the 3050lp 6gb, I think the custom cooler would be better suited to be made for the 3050lp. Just my opinion.
huh, i kinda want to do this similar thing to my full height 1050ti. still attempting to fix the dead low profile 1050ti
I want minisforum to make a as small as possible form factor pc that supports a low profile 4060.
One of the best cards available for older pcs. But spendy.
Eta the new.cooler is just for reduce some.space.inside the minisforum no or for another motives too !?
Look, I understand there's a premium for SFF and mini PC, but I just can't justify the performance per dollar on something like this. With the mini PC, A2000 and single slot cooler, you're talking about $1200 USD before taxes & shipping. Meanwhile I can build a mini-tower PC w/ a Ryzen 5700xt, mid-tier B550 mobo, Radeon 6700 xt, 1tb storage, 32GB RAM, 650 watt PSU for just a little over $1000 USD. This would give me double the GPU performance in synthetic benchmarks and would play all games high/ultra 1080p at well over 60FPS and a lot of games on medium/high over 60FPS on 1440P.
laptop with Nvidia 3060 would be cheaper and more portable than a whole small pc.
I mean you can buy an RTX 4060 laptop with pretty good other features for like 800 bucks now on sale, this isn't necessarily about value but about the size/performance. For sure it's not a good deal right now, you are right.
😮
@@PeterOliver I get the whole laptop discussion. However, you still have an upgrade path in my scenario. You can get a Ryzen 5800x3d or 5900/5950x, add more RAM, upgrade the GPU, add more storage, and even transplant the whole platform into another PC tower. Hell, you can even replace the mobo with a B650 or B760 if you wanted to go team blue. Laptops and these ultra small machines cannot do most of up the upgrades I mentioned .
But does it work with the RTX 2000 Ada? I'm not a bit fan of it being open on the back. Why couldn't a grate be designed in there?
what kind of power block does it have? pushing 140W at the wall during gaming?
Interesting
Should have used the RTX 4000 ADA SFF card.
Can you try this setup with ChimeraOS instead?
i think nvidia has leaked an a400 and a1000 as well, both single slot half height.
Can you tell me if there are any AMD or Intel graphics cards in a similar form factor and with roughly the same performance?"
What is crazy to me is nvidia has the chips already to have insane sff gpus that are amazing. 4060 laptop pulling 60w on the gpu and gets great fps. Why cant they just make it into a desktop card
no way you got this for 230 usd. what a deal
Would this be a good transcoder for a plex server?
Can this work in a dell optiplex 3050? The medium size case. Was given that from my job.
Amd is the best when it comes to igpu and power consumption for their cpu, what happend to them? why didn't they release a good single slot gpu
$250 for the RTX a2000 and $80 for the nifty cooler. I think I'll wait a year or so for the Rx 6400 successor.
Keyboard is in every video...what is it?
I have an M720q with a G5400T, so the CPU is probably too slow, right? The MS-01 is overkill for "just" a gaming PC. Is there an alternative?
M720 can use last Gen9 Intels, if you patch new Microcode in the BIOS. I use a M910X with a I9-9900T CPU and A2000 ;-)
@@raphaelmuller3295 Thx. How do i patch this, do you haev a download link for a Bios Patch File?
the vanilla experience would be no dlss and no shader caches, and no performance optimizations in the drivers
Unfortunately the word is out and prices on the a2000 are up near $500 on Amazon. $300 on eBay if you're lucky.
This is putting my RTX 4060 laptop to shame, I'm having issues getting over 70FPS no matter what settings I use in palworld. Cyber punk high settings hit the same. This is with DLSS.... I do have 2 m.2 drives so wonder if its the 8x limit
When you say A4000 new gen.. you mean the RTX 4000 Ada (SFF) ?
Great review. However I'm feeling some ptsd for how many times you said "A2000"... :)
I was looking for that comment. 🤣🤣🤣
If they had a Ryzen version of this id be putting it together rn, can't stand e cores taking up extra wattage in power Restricted setups
Can someone list me all the low profile GPUs available that are half height
aka fit the tiny/mini/micro pc size
Would this fit in Jonsbo N2?
1:11 do you mean rtx a4000 ada sff card? because RTX A4000 is a single slot but not low profile and there is no way to do it low profile card :)
testing on i5 please.
No before and after weight comparison?
stock cooler is 180 grams, mine is 300 grams.
