This is the closest I've seen anyone get to Mark's technique. It makes a huge difference in the authenticity of the riff.

I have been trying to get my right hand technique to sound like this for a while, but couldn’t quite figure out how and where I was falling short. This is so helpful!! Really appreciate the video, finally I’ll be able to play it how I want 👏🏻

Quite nice. The second harmonic which can be heard on the album is on the 4th fret D string, at least tonality wise, which gives you F#

hey man, loved your last video too. if you are looking for ideas on where to take your channel then where I think there is a niche is for a specifically finger style based electric guitars. there's a million videos on improving picking speed and sweeping but almost nothing when it comes to finger exercises for electric guitar. there's a lot of finger style players now beyond Knopfler, Mayer does it, Asato uses it a lot, even Andy "here's my clean tone". There's definitely a demand for this stuff. you've obviously got great technique in this area, I'd love to know to some moves you use while playing finger-style and some exercises to improve in this area.

Try to learn as many Mark Knopfler songs as you can. Try Walk Of Life and look up videos that explain the right hand clawhammer technique. Pavel Fomenkov has a good one on Walk Of Life. Learn this and you’ll understand Money For Nothing way faster

@@sixbladestories I think he means why you're not playing the B string at 6th fret (making it a G7) at the beginning of riff.
@@rtraktsdn1197 The riff consists of power chords, no 7th chords needed
Calls other versions completely wrong without any explanation then proceeds to play the song incorrectly
