- Adventure Time’s Main landmass known as “The Land of OOO” - changes drastically in the future of the series as shown in multiple episodes prior to the finale and during.
"Lemonhope Part 1 And 2 - Season 5 Episode 50-51"

"Come Along With Me - Season 10 Episode 13"
Today I will be discussing these episodes and how ooo may have gotten to this more desolate; run down, and an even more apocalyptic feeling point in the world then what it was during the time period shown in the show.
I also discuss the fionna and cake episodes that showed a closer look at this future especially the "pup kingdom" and "shermy and beth" and i also go over steve wolfhards storyboard notes in which show a deeper story and possible plot for a future series.

It’s honestly so cool to see the evolution in adventure time from our time to after the great mushroom war to the land of of ooo in Finn’s era to shermey and Beth’s era the lore of adventure time is so peak

i would imagine ooo changed because of a comet. in the finale of fionna and cake, when betty enters the bus, there will be a destination sign in a different language, which translates to “comet.” which ties into the theory that betty/golbetty is reincarnated into a comet, as when golbetty blows simon away, we can see golbetty start to morph into something else

There's actually sufficient evidence to suggest that it wasn't humans who transformed the Candy Kingdom but Uncle Gumbald! Ever since his introduction, Uncle Gumbald's primary goal was to build a big advanced candy metropolis.
It is pretty safe to assume that at some point after the events of the main series, Uncle Gumbald got liberated from his candy form, overthrew PB (or whoever will be in charge) and transformed the Candy Kingdom into a huge city. He even leveled the candy forest which PB would never do in her life (and a little side note: Uncle Gumbald already attempted to undermine Bonnie's achievements by chopping down her forest when she was little so this checks out).
And it couldn't have been humans for two reasons: Firstly, future humans' architechture is way too futuristic and advanced to be part of the 1000+ Candy Kingdom. All of the buildings have candy-like features which is closer thematically to the city Uncle Gumbald was building before the series finale. And secondly, humans probably left the Earth by that point. Not sure if you've seen Bravest Warriors (created by Pendleton Ward) but the show takes place on Mars far in the future where humanity started a colony. There's a lot of overlap with AT, especially a hologram of the Earth with a big crator, so it's a real possiblity that humans simply left their home and sailed for the stars.
Also the Candy Kingdom wasn't bombed out or attacked but abandoned. One of the AT writers confirmed it!
Uncle gumbald learned his lesson and realized his mistakes by the end of come along with me - I don't think he would have attempted to achieve his prior goal if brought back from being crunchy again

We don't actually know if Gumbald did learn his lesson or if he immediately intended to betray Princess Bubblegum. Aunt Lolly believed that he intended to just immediately betray her.
We do know it's very unlikely he was ever turned back to Gumbald again due to Crunchy being in 1000 Grables, though, inside the Prizeball Guardians.

Clearly the second apocalypse was caused by Vampire Ice King from another dimension using Prismo’s wish magic to lead his vampire army to attack this dimension.

I’m not sure if anyone noticed or commented about this they but why is OOOs sky covered with clouds all the time ? Everytime we are shown the future land of ooo there’s always an over cast of clouds creating a more bland look. Anyone have any theory’s for that ? It can’t just be a coincidence.

In Fiona & Cake we get to see the Vampire World where the crown was used to keep the sky perpetually dark. Maybe The Ice Thing lost its marbles completely and began affecting weather patterns which caused the sky to be completely covered with clouds.
Simply, all the kingdoms of Ooo fallen. While humans abandoned it because it became unfit for living, No one knows whether the war happen or not...
The dystopian city might have to do more with what the descendant of Jake with one of the ice crown gems than it does with any war against humans though if that crazy scientist survived then it would be that person to wage war not humans in general.

The Candy Kingdom is way too intact for any kind of war to have effected it all too directly. Like, virtually anything could've destroyed the road and one notibly broken building, yet the skyline of the city is alright.
The broken windows could've been caused by vandels or something.
Though it is possible with the existance of the Prizeball Guardian that Princess Bubblegum might've chosen to pack everyone up and flee in response to a war drawing close, going poorly, or dragging on too long.
And it's the possible threat Gibbon posed was enough for Peebs to do so without evidence he would *actually* attack/invade the Candy Kingdom.
Or Gibbon was too insane to make a grab for territory.
Since, unless the Candy Kingdom were abandoned only a few days before we see the abandoned city, you'd think there would've been some Pup presence in it if they invaded.

I like to believe that the candy/human kingdom is in ruins because it was abandoned for Space exploration.

What if this future ooo was a result of what happens when a catalyst comet doesn’t do its thing? I remember in the season 6 finale the catalyst comet was stopped, and they’re supposed to bring about a new era of change or something. Maybe because that change was stopped, ooo kind of decayed, and became the possible wasteland it is in the future. Maybe the catalyst comets are some kind of planetary maintenance mechanism? Ooo was nice and fresh in finn and Jake’s era.
I think Gibbon takes their powers to maintain control over an orderly society. Powers make for complexity, and it’s easier to control people if only one man - their leader - has the special power of immortality.
This is a theme of the show: How much power is needed for security, and when does it become tyranny? Think of Bubblegum, who monitors her own citizens and tracks them.
The fact that Gibbon fights Ice Thing shows Gibbon cares about his people and protects them, but perhaps he has gone too far in that cause.

Humans + Candy Kingdom vs Gibbon dog army, I don't think humans will attack the candy kingdom since probably Finn or other characters encourage the people to not enter on conflict, but looking how is the Gibbon behavior pretty sure he probably start it since the Puppy Kingdom is the one prevailing among others

Or, the earlier generation of Pups were too powerful and caused the second desolation of Ooo, and Gibbon vowed to take their powers away to prevent another cataclysm. Hopefully a remnant of Mankind was able to survive, maybe moving to another continent or maybe space.

My idea of what happen would be a war between the cabdy kingdom and pup kingdom
With the winner being thr pup kingdom since we see some apperantly battle ships close to the candy kingdom
What happening to the humans i dont know but likely if was thr candy kingdom vs the pup kingdom the humans would be in the candy kingdom this time they being extinct
We have seen actually quite little of this new Ooo, so perhaps humans are still around the continent, possibly some returning to the Islands like their ancestors did

It's more like everyone packed up and left, which does track with the fact a bunch of Candy People are stored away in the Prizeball Guardian.
@@chaos4654 But that only endorses that the Candy Kingdom lost the conflict, perhaps it was a phyrric victory for the Pups, and knowing that the Candy Kingdom would not survive another assault, the leadership of the Kingdom (because let's be honest, we are not even sure who led it at this point) made the citizens seek shelter in the Prizeball Guardian and abandoned their realm

I feel as though the pup kingdom attacked the candy kingdom along with the humans, causing them once again to flee the lands and scatter like ants. Also didnt help that PB was possible captured leaving everything without order other than the pups. Gibbon most likely stole and utilized PBs tech which helped him kingdom be able to reach the stars and move to a colony in space, as for Gunther, I doubt hes in any state of madness but more or so trying to stir up a plan to get the last jewel back from Gibbon, my theory is that Gibbon had a cause in TPs death.

I think shermy and Beth are reincarnations of jake, since shermy embodies more of the go with the flow typa style like jake n junk, and Beth has a more calmer personality, more akin to Finn in the later parts of the show

Wait a second, if Simon confirms that this is in fact a different reality/universe, then how did Come Along With Me take place and how was BMO able to narrate it from that universe? Did all the events mentioned happened before the original timeline experienced it? Also, there is atleast only ONE Golb in Adventure Time, how is it possible for him to be in 2 places at once and in different time periods? Also, there is no way it is possible for THIS universe to experience it long before the original had experienced it. If the original timeline's Ooo took place wherein Finn is now in his prolly 30 something, then what about this Ooo that is atleast 1000+ years into the future?

Gibbon getting any kind of ice king powers doesn't make sense. The Crowns Jules were simply the original power source for the crown. The Gems don't give the user powers. it's the crown that does that.
Then again, there may be an explanation of some kind involving the crowns creation and the wish of Dino Gunther.

Its pretty much implied that shermy is a reincarnation as fin. I mean he resembles him a little bit and he and fin almost have the same personality. Not to mention that jake and finn did reincarnate together. And beth is also implied to be jake’s reincarnation as well, tying up a few loose ends after the show was done.
