Fastball would have been legends in the early 60's. Not that they're not legends in my book, but these chord progressions and honest lyrics would have ruled the radio back then.
One of the first things I noticed about them is how much of their music has a weird 60s feel to it.
This gives the eagles vibes
I have a few tunes I produced in the late 90's that I would let them use. I'd love to hear their interpretation and believe they would be perfect for them.
For me, that was their original appeal. No one mainstream was doing what they were doing in the late 90s. They had (and still have) a refreshing sound... invasion Beatles with a hint of Texas honky tonk. In fact, I want to say the guy who did piano on "You're An Ocean" had played with the Beatles at some point.

These guys deserve another shot at great success. This song should break big! Terrific songwriting, solid performance, Fastball has never let us down. Hoping for and expecting this track to be the chart-topper that "The Way" was!

I absolutely adore this song and video
As a kid I remember "The Way". That song got me hooked on them as a kid. It was hard to keep up with bands growing up so they faded from my knowledge after that. Then as an adult I looked up their music, found a lot I had missed over the years and now as a 37 year old this is what I love to listen to. Glad they stuck with it
I got to meet them and talk to them at the Alameda County fair in the S.F. Bay Area along time ago! Super cool dudes that tripped out when I told them my cover band played a few of their songs. They also told my wife and I that they noticed us in the front row singing along with all of their songs, we thought that was really cool! I put these guys up there in the ranks of Randy Newman.

Fantastic New Single From Fastball! Looks like (2017) will be a great year for the band!
I have loved these guys ever since "The Way" took my little town by storm my 8th grade year. I now own all their albums (Step Into Light is pre-ordered on CD AND vinyl) and have enjoyed their solo work too. Tony's "Forever Girl" and Miles' "Junkie Hands" are songs that stick with you for eternity...such well-made music.
I can only hope these guys make a stop in Tulsa on their tour....I'd love to see these guys at the Cains Ballroom, beer bottles filling the joint as we all rock the fuck out to so "Are You Ready for the Fallout?"

I went to a Squeeze show and a group came on stage. As lights came on, they started up and said we're Fastball. I FREAKED out! Turns out they took over for KT Tunstall who had to cancel for that show. Lord let these dudes keep jammin' for life! Tony!

it's just so damn cute...
i first saw Fastball live back when The Way and Out of My Head were still big hits, they played the county fair... i went with the girl who, years down the road, would become my wife... i still have the ticket... anyway, so we went and caught them at another little fair-type gig back Labor Day Weekend in Port Lavaca and heard this for the first time, i've been listening on the reg ever since... it was a really fun show, btw, if you've never seen them live, they're still out there you're missing out, Men Without Hats played, too, it was so much fun... i love the song, i love the vid, it's all so f'in' cute i just can't even...
and if you're reading this, Fastball just dropped a brand new album in Sep 2019, it's really cool, i hope you go check it out... mad love, Fastball, Family, and Fans, here's to our guys and their music!
