Hi Alen, it's completely automatic and you only need the photos - no pre-existing 3d model is required ! You can download our free version and try it out today :) make sure to check our first 5 minutes tutorial in order to learn the basics ua-cam.com/video/17UTelgZqBg/v-deo.html and the 10 minutes photography tutorial that will explain the techniques you need to keep in mind when taking photos: ua-cam.com/video/E06kgYBftak/v-deo.html
Hi Mark! 3DF Zephyr Pro/Aerial can also load external data (even natively from certain laser scanner devices, e.g. .fls, .fws, .rdbx, .dp, .e57... ) that can either be used "as is" for many tool or integrated using photogrammetry data (coloring the scan, meshing it using the laser scan geometry but the textures from the photos, for example). This video you commented on is *very* old :) you can see a recent videotutorial on laser scan integration here ua-cam.com/video/oT0CK2Vcu_E/v-deo.html for example
Hi Oto, it was indeed automatically removed. Everything that falls outside the automatically computed bounding box is discarded from the computation and thus, not reconstructed. While it is possible to mask images (and sometimes, suggested, in order to also reconstruct the base of the object) in this specific case what you see is the raw output of the software completetly run automatically.
Hi Benny! sure you can! Here is a crab example made with 3DF Zephyr by one of our users :) sketchfab.com/3d-models/crab-3d-model-4571a2b6fe7b4401a6bdc2c0d52ea1e7 make sure to check out our videotutorials - this video is quite old :) you can get started today with 3DF Zephyr Free to learn: www.3dflow.net/3df-zephyr-free/
Hi Flying Karapet! When so many of the photos get rejected, either you didn't have enough overlap between images, the images haven't been shot correctly or - in case you moved the object - you didn't mask your images. You can find here a quick tutorial on photography for photogrammetry ua-cam.com/video/E06kgYBftak/v-deo.html - anyways, if you'd like to share the photos we'll be happy to help! You can find us on our forum, our 3Dflow academy facebook group or on our discord, all linked on 3dflow.net :)
Hi Azim! You can take photos in any order, the general rule is that you need 3 pictures (from three different positions, so always move) for each point you want to be reconstructed in 3D. You can find more specific photography suggestions in this videotutorial: ua-cam.com/video/E06kgYBftak/v-deo.html&feature=emb_title
Nice captures !!! How could the camera can define the size of the object, How to set the scale ? Is it automatic ? What is the accuracy of that soft. I need to scan tiny objects, mainly for jewelry; Tha,ks for your answer !!!
thank you :) the scale is arbitrary, so you need to scale it using a known scale in the reconstructed scene. It can be a reference object/measure on the object iself or something else entirely.
Hi Urjnlegend! Hi kineticraptor! Make sure you have imported at least three images (the bare minimum for a reconstruction). Feel free to reach out to us at support@3dflow.net or on our forum/discord with the log and/or screenshot of the issue so we can be more accurate in diagnosing your issue :)
@@3DflowChannel hey man, thanks for getting back to me so soon. I actually solved it. I had about 25 pictures but i was adding them in zephyr directly from my phone. You have to first export them to your PC.

Hi Jorge, yes the free version allows to export the 3D model :) you need to compute the textured mesh first. While Lite,Pro,Aerial allows to export a non textured mesh, the free edition only allows you to export a textured mesh :)
GREAT audio on this video, truly fantastic.
With the background removal feature, you can take a photo of a car in outdoor environment with some good lightning?
Good job!
The 3D models are close to life size measures?
do you have to have some kind of 3d model before applying photos or does it simply generate 3d model from photos? asking about that eagle
