Interesting video. Black probably needed much earlier to hit the center with c5. As played it’s no surprise Black got steamrolled. Would very much like to see how Stockfish would handle the slippery hippo defense
Just madness. I stopped playing King's Indian and Grünfeld long time ago, after Kasparov didn't have great results in these openings, especially Grünfeld against Karpov (at that time everyone was watching what Kasparov was doing). But Fish is now actually crashing the whole concept of the King's Indian with some (at least for me) novelty. Well here is a lot of material for super GMs to study. I'm quite sure no-one will try King's Indian in classic format against Magnus or Alireza 😁. Great game, many thanks, Joza.
An amazingly efficient and quick attack. I have already abandoned my old favourite KID, the Makagonov is only one of many fine systems against it. Great analysis, thanks Josip and keep up the good work.
@@a.m.armstrong8354 yes people do not play like this against it. I just get better results with some upended of QGD, KID is playable, it has to suit you not me.
If we consider this game to be over when Stockfish wins the opponent's queen at 14:50, then one astonishing feature of this game is that _Stockfish never moves his king off of e1 for the entire game,_ even with every piece still on the board and White's pawn cover stripped away from in front of the king! I suspect that a human being who tried this would simply end up getting checkmated. The other comical feature of the game is Stockfish leaving his bishop _en prise_ on f3 for what seems like an eternity.
Fantastic insight, any amateur that tries to play in this way with White by leaving his king in the center and pushing pawns instead, will likely get mated. Top engine chess and human chess are indeed two completely different things.
I missed this match and the outcomes. Great you take a very interesting game out of this match and explain it all here! Super as always! Really appreciate all your efforts and chess passion you put in this. Beautiful analysing, thanks! (btw probably Stockfish will come out soon with version 15 I hope)
I play kings Indian often and I believe the Dragon made strategic mistake . It should have attacked the centre and opened it up instead of counter attacking on the queen side . In my experience if you open the centre as black the white attack on the kingside becomes very slow and difficult to complete .
Yeah, I feel this game is useless in practice as I'm not aware of ...a6 being a strategic idea so early in the opening. Maybe the idea was to test the ...6 idea but again, useless to me.
@@Jozarovschesschannel Its OK no problem, thank you for replying, I am obliged, most channels show their videos like "Stockfish 16 vs Leela C Zero" or "Stockfish 16 vs Komodo Dragon 3" then I searched & I thought Stockfish 16 is the latest version, keep up the good work, take care & keep smiling, Bye.
Almost exclusively , the modern GM's are going away from KID and Gruenfeld . Now we see Queens gambits and Nimzo's as being more flexible and center oriented , fighting for more space in comparison to these dinosaur openings of the past . In the game shown , black is not fighting for central space and castles at random with this poor opening strategy .
Like really? U literally showed the worst ways for black, knight to c3 is big trouble for white and then move king side bishop to 2 and all ur preparation are over and done. If u really know how to play, its not going to be easy taking on the kings Indian.
@@Jozarovschesschannel sir it doesn't matter how fast you show the last 20 moves just fast forward last useless moves but atleast show us.... We can slow down and learn it... As we loose our endgame even having more material so we can learn here ... By the way I'm not new to chess im 1855 on lichess
Jozarov, don't worry about this, if you're 1855 on Lichess, you can win this endgame, no questions asked. I think it's very sensible to stop the analysis there, the following 20 moves are really not that instructive when two computers are playing them. As an excercise, be creative and figure out a plan to win the endgame with white, I'm sure it will help you a lot more than two computers regurgitating perfect moves. Give it a try and if you can't follow, use Lichess analysis board, it's free and it has Stockfish 14 :).

Thank you very much for this amazing game explained!
All the best!

True!
I still like the KID..this is engine chess.

Wow. White King on open e-file in the middle game ! I wonder what Bobby Fischer would think of the KI today.

@MrSupernova111 Yes. c6 then a6 for black in this particular line are mistakes. Black should have played in the center.
KID defense is not refuted!
Stockfish is getting artistical 😁
I usually use the four pawns attack. I guess h3 is powerful. Thank you for teaching this Jozarov. Chess is the best
👍
I Like the four pawns attack. IT has some wild gambit lines
Can we see a game where stockfish plays as black?
If SF played the KID vs itself I bet it would win as white.
Would like to see Stockfish play the Latvian gambit
You can check out any opening played by stockfish on the ccrl website
Thanks
Makagonov or Samisch? Which one do you prefer against KID guys?
I would like to see Stockfish vs Stockfish KID and see what would happen then. It broke Dragon’s KID, not Stockfish’s KID.
Who else found the winning move this time? Thanks for another great commentary!
Imagine if we let stockfish and dragon run in those supercomputers used by companies and play a 1000 game match on classical format.
You just have to convince the U.S. gov't that chess is vital to national security and they'll use NASA's rocket-science computers, money no object.
What about exd6 instead of hxg4...
I KID you not, the KID is refuted!
No. KID is not refuted.
Black played the oppening wrong. There's no c6 then a6 in this particular line.
You can not play like this against Makogonov.

Too long for my taste. I guess I'm not the right audience...
Please don't leave the game in middle show us full check mate we are new to chess we don't understand. Otherwise i will not watch your video anymore
There is no need to show 20 more moves of this endgame.
But ok, I will show the Full game next time

No need to show how to win with an extra Rook, you will lose viewers if you waste time with that.
