Hey Grazzet for those additional upgrades at the end that are bonus $$$ what would you recommend be swapped out for those 3 or 4 cards? Thanks for the great videos!
Passionate Archaeologist says that the Commander deals damage according to the mana value of the spell you cast from Exile. So the Power of our commander does Not matter for the damage.
Whoops, that's my bad! Certainly makes it better but may still not be worth running since the burn doesn't really help the game plan too much since that's all it does... Still, run by preference if you want some none combat ways to close out games. Thanks for letting me know!
@@GrazzetMTG I agree that it's not worth running in Faldorn, since the wolves your create are a nice way to close out games. In my Prosper Deck were I mainly work with Cards like Marionette Master and Co, its a good addition since it gives additional drain without changing the overall gameplan.
Both games I played over the weekend were closed out by a combination of passionate archeologist, warstorm surge, or purphorose. Not a single bit of damage dealt in those games were combat damage, it got utterly ridiculous quick.
Love this upgrade! Returning to MtG after 20 years and this was first deck for EDH. Upgraded Chandra with her Torch of Defiance card and kept Archaeologist in the list.
Congratulations for this video! I’ve saw the mind flyarrrs video and, dude, the way you speak and explains every single detail of the deck is so amazing!! Thanks for that! Huges from Brazil!!
Nice decktech! When I first see that this pre-con would resolve around casting from exile, I though it would'nt be good, until I remenbered that most of impulse draw and such are connect with red
people counting to make sure you have the 70 that arent replaced, remember to count faldorn like i forgot to... lol! allso grazzet for the more expensive upgrades u reccomend at the end do you have a reccomendation for it to replace??
I gotta vote for Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm. Dragons are such a popular and cool tribal deck and as a budget-ish player who hasn't been playing for a really long time learning what I can play in that deck to not break the bank would be great!
You have some great ideas for this deck, I especially love Valakut Awakening and Hollowhenge Overlord ! I would, however, try to get some extra land drop-effects into the deck, if possible. That would really help you get past land pockets that happen to get exiled from the top of your library and also ramp you so you can cast more spells from the top. I also think you correctly identified that it's not worth it to lean into any kind of wolf tribal with this deck - simply because this isn't the right deck for that. I am, however, not sure if small-ish buffs for your tokens/green creatures are going to be good enough. Cards like Triumph of the Hordes or a simple Overrun might be better than Sylvan Anthem if the expensive Craterhoofs and Iblexes are out of budget range. Parallel Lives would obviously also be great addition after adding cards like Summer Bloom, Azuza and her journey etc. - although that card is quite pricey. Something enabling haste for all your creatures might also be neat, maybe Hammer of Purphoros to stick to the token theme ?
Just swapped these cards into my deck and I'm super hyped to try it out. I did change Loyal Guardian for a Jaheira friend of the forest. Been playing green for too long to let that much easy mana pass me by. Also the store was out of Loyal Guardians.
Great video dude, I know it’s old but love the style of this. I’ve bought all the cards you said. I’m pretty new and excited to play. One question though, surprised you didn’t want to use venture forth as it just keeps recasting for free and will generate 2 tokens a turn right? One for the land fast from exile and one for venture forth being recast from exile itself
Great video thank you! I had a lot of identical replacements in mind. I don't think green decks need WF Bauble, I think you may have misread the background card, b/c it doesn't care about about Faldorn's power rather the cmc of the spell being cast of which this deck has a few big splashy spells. There are many other possible notable inclusions, but I'll just name that impact tremors is great for this deck as it comes down much sooner than warstorm surge and doesn't care about the power of those critters and notably doesn't target (3 damage per wolf etb happening ~T4+ seems good)
Glad you enjoyed the build! Regarding the Bauble, I find that even in green, who's land ramp is amazing, the Wayfarer's Bauble is still solid, colorless fixing that let us play otherwise unplayable hand (with no green mana) playable - but its really up the the individual player if they find that worth it or not. For the background, I did misread it and does warrant keeping its spot in the deck of the extra damage, that was my bad. More ETB damage triggers would definitely find a good home in the build too!
Woof- ahem, amazing deck as always! Will test it soon! Now as for the vote... I giess I will go for the one with the background. Mainly because the Dragonomicon is surprisingly predictable (like most -monicon decks, funnily enough), while the other option is practically just Esper Nekusar. And I don't want wheel flashbacks again. Day 311 of waiting for the Grazzet face reveal. What's your favourite animal? Mine's the owl.
Sorry for the late response (lots of comments to go through with the giveaway). Sadly Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy didn't make it this time but I'll be including plenty of other commander with background in future polls! Dogs for me! Love them good boys!
At the end you talk about the expensive upgrades but you forgot to mentions what cards would you be swapping for those expensive upgrades. Great video btw
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I do not believe at this time I was mentioning which cards to specifically swap out (that has since changed in the newer precon upgrades and builds)- sorry.
A bit late now but Valakut Exploration is put in this deck as a push for lethal card, feel weird here. Unnatural Growth is far better in this deck isn’t it ? Couple it with Glorious Sunrise and you have a lethal board every round !
I don’t see cutting the Venture forth as a smart idea as it perpetually ramps us, and replacing creature removal with artifact/enchant only removal is very very eh. Besides that, great video.
His ability is certainly powerful but that CMC 6 is Boros isn't doing him any favors... Still, I would be up for the challenge, so lets see if we can't get him in a future poll!
Powerful yes, but sadly not reliable to get both out at the same time - especially when considering how much impulse draw we have. Ezuri's Predations whopping 8 CMC is often too much for us, even with our superb ramp package, to cast off the top until the late game - so often it ends up just being a wasted hit off the top (at least that's what I found in testing).
Grazz, You make this choice hard. I'm going with my heart for some Esper love but I will not be mad for Dragons or Dimir... I really want to see each of these... Still waiting for Hinata Round 3 but I am patient
Thank you for this guide! I'm a MTG noob so this might be a stupid question: you cut most flying/ reach creatures and sandworm convergence, so how do you handle decks focusing on flying creatures?
I think the way you handle with them is by just going wide and swinging with tons of creatures, because flyers usually are more expensive to cast than normal creatures. With flyers you can't really go wide that easily, so just overwhelm them and they are forced to either block or boardwipe.
It is certainly powerful, but only in the right circumstances. There is no doubt that it can certainly win games for us with its burn but it is another "do nothing" enchantment that doesn't really help us develop our board in a meaning way when it comes down. I would say run as per preference, since it can be very powerful, but would be better if we had access to it from the command zone as a background instead of in the 99.
@@GrazzetMTG I completely steamrolled the table with it at a game this week. It's very powerful and a potential wincon other than going wide with Wolves. Not to mention the deck has more than enough space for it. 95% of your draw is cast from exile, so playing this is a no brainer.
Wyll, Blade of Frontiers would be a fun dice chucking commander and Baeloth Barrityl makes for an interesting Voltron / Goad build - so I can see about adding them to future polls!

Glad you think so!
i agree completely infact i can say grazzet and I have similar taste of upgrades
yeah, this guy rules!
What would you swap out for your upgrade suggestions?
Just a thought but Madness does cast from exile so it would be handy to run those.
Passionate Archaeologist says that the Commander deals damage according to the mana value of the spell you cast from Exile. So the Power of our commander does Not matter for the damage.

Add food chain / squee
Add explore and other extra land plays per turn effects like azura oracle and courser

Grenzo has been reprinted now and is like 25 cents!
WHAT CARDS REPLACE GRENZO, BIRGI, AND CRATERHOOF? PLEASE HELP
I don’t see cutting the Venture forth as a smart idea as it perpetually ramps us, and replacing creature removal with artifact/enchant only removal is very very eh.
Besides that, great video.
Venture Forth never really worked out in testing for me (a bit too slow) but we we get it early enough it can generate us a decent amount of value.
Have you considered building around Duke Ulder Ravenguard? He's very powerful and fun to play
His ability is certainly powerful but that CMC 6 is Boros isn't doing him any favors... Still, I would be up for the challenge, so lets see if we can't get him in a future poll!
Warstorm Surge and Ezuri's Predation is a lethal combo. Dunno about getting rid of it.

For just a board wipe ezuris isn't that good, especially when compared to red board wipes.
Grazz,

Being spoiled for choice is never a bad thing! Regarding Hinata, we'll have to see if I have some free time to tackle this build in the future.
how/where would i put my crater hoof in this build?
this commander is pretty much like gruul version of prosper. versatile play style and can even go cEDH.
Unsure about cEDH potential (sicne I do not play that format) but she is certainly powerful when she gets going!
Thank you for this guide! I'm a MTG noob so this might be a stupid question: you cut most flying/ reach creatures and sandworm convergence, so how do you handle decks focusing on flying creatures?

These upgrades look amazing, but I need to keep a precon unchanged for streaming reasons!😭😭😭
Fair enough!
Do you plan on doing any of the Street Fighter secret lair commanders?
Maybe when they get a reskin like the Stranger Things one's did.
Is there a new list?
Thanks man, you so cool
Glad you enjoyed the build!
I vote for a Queza deck tech for Pauper EDH
Queza didn't quite make it this time but hopefully we'll see them again in a future poll!
DO NOT CUT Passionate Archeologist. Card is insanely strong.
It is certainly powerful, but only in the right circumstances. There is no doubt that it can certainly win games for us with its burn but it is another "do nothing" enchantment that doesn't really help us develop our board in a meaning way when it comes down.
