Drying hands on the jacket sleeves for faster fades is a brilliant idea! Realized I'm always doing it to my pants and they fade way faster than jackets
I used to work for Levi and coach people through the process and explain sizing. I’ve been doing this with domestic and import 501s for decades. Also, you don’t have to wear underwear. ❤️
That awkward feeling you have when the jackit is on and it’s wet and sticky and uncomfortable. That what every surfer feels when putting on wet suits that aren’t dried out. I’ve learned a lot over the last year from your channel. Your a funny dude. Great channel.
Love this video. In case anyone's looking for the results of the shrinkage (in cm): Chest: 61-58 Shoulders: 49-48 Length: 74-68,5 Sleeve length: 67,5-62,5 --- I just washed a brand new Indigofera Parson's Lodge jacket (type 2) in black Gunpowder denim that was a little too big. I still haven't measured the results, but it's probably only going to be 5% at most since it's sanforized.
Overall I enjoyed the video. However, I thought the point of this was to see how the denim conformed to your body as it dried while you were wearing it.
Pancho and Lefty are great... I bought a few Indigofera items from the website a couple weeks ago and it reached me in Australia in 4 days... Free shipping too!
Interesting tip with regards to wiping a bit of water on the inner elbow creases to accentuate fades... explains why the front of the thigh area of jeans has had fading to match the knees over the course of my life, as I sometimes wipe my hands on them if they're still damp after washing or rinsing them, or if there isn't a towel readily available lol Too bad you couldn't do the full soak and wearing the wet shirt afterwards, but I hear you with regards to practicality! This kinda reminded me of being thrown off a dock into a lake when I was a kid, wearing denim overalls!!! SWIMMING in denim overall as a small person was VERY difficult LOL!!! And then trying to walk while wearing them wet was next to impossible!!! 🤣 (changed into something else right away too lol)
Didn’t wear it wet at all. Once it had had the soak alone in the tub I needed to do a client visit and it was late in the day. It was just hung up to dry for about 2 days by the time I got back to it.
A BIG no no. You’ll just end up stinking and need to do a proper machine wash in the end. Only do that if you’ve had a lot of wear in them and were going to wash anyway.
Hey! Question: a few months ago I purchased an anniversary jacket from Momotaro that has a denim weave and a silk weft. I honestly have no idea how I’m supposed to wash this thing. Any ideas? Like do I just soak it in cold water? How would I manage getting any spills or anything off of it? Super curious lol
@@CeeAreDee actually i was tempted to buy one but instead i build myself a seiko watch homage of a milsub , have a look at some of the new seiko dive watches or orient pretty good value for money and originality . Love your videos !
Hey C this might sound like a joke given the subject. But I bought a 31 This and a 36 that(American) and %#%#*!!!! How about meeting in the middle. Soak what you need stretched?!?!
That’s a common misconception. Indigo blends off blue. While yes, indigo is a greenish yellow when it is first made into a dyestuff as it oxidises is turns blue, it’s why you need to stay away from light car seats or a white sofa on the hot days especially. The process to turn the raw indigo into a dyestuff involves a lot of nasty chemicals certainly stronger stuff that my Berlin tap water. The yellow brown is most likely predominantly starch used in the weaving process.

Yeah. Good point actually 😂 Mats know what he’s doing!
I love how your honest and no bs

Haha, I thought the underwear was needed for the sake of my age rating ;)
@@CeeAreDee Gotta keep denim family friendly. 😉

The beginning is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
Was so weird filming and editing that 😂
Literally just finished watching the previous episode and you upload the sequel lol
Haha. Good timing!

Never knew Russel Crowe was so obsessed with denim

Yeah. That was the initial idea but then the reality of the whole thing dawned on me and practicalities won out 😂
Suppose there is a denim jacket with the perfect size except for sleeve length being too long, could I do what you did but only the sleeves?

Oh wow. That’s fast! Yeah the guys are super. Really nice and the selection is amazing!

Hi Matt, nice vid(s). Informativ, funny, well edited, as always. What pants are you wearing before you stepped into the bathtub?
Danke Jürgen. Appreciate that mate. Those are king’s of indigo sailor pants. Super interesting construction. No outer seam
That Monty Python reference was stellar.
😂
where's the part 1 link?
Fantastic!!! did you wear it wet for at least 30 minutes?

Which jacket is this called?
What’s your take on wearing them in the ocean for their first soak?
A BIG no no. You’ll just end up stinking and need to do a proper machine wash in the end. Only do that if you’ve had a lot of wear in them and were going to wash anyway.
Do you think it adds much if you do it after a few months of wear, followed by a machine wash?
@@LostBassPlayer it won’t do anything significant. It’s more just a fun little thing

Oh. With silk. That’s tough. I’d say put it on a gentle silk cycle in the washing machine. Inside out with little or no spin cycle.
What watch are you wearing?
My ol' shame Folex, a Steinhart Ocean Vintage. It's actually not a bad watch. But I am a little off the whole "homage" trip these days.

INDIGOFERA.
Is there a link to this shirt?
You didn’t even have a beer in the bath 🤷♂️🍺
Or maybe you had a protein bar in the pocket! 😂

Recently had a straight cut that I soaked only the waist then rolled down the waist (still wet). Then I could break in the denEM! Oh yeah!!
Glad you wrote that part to clarify. I was confused but entertained 😂
Is that a straight-jacket? :-)
Probably should be!
That “brown” (yellow) color in the water is indigo loss. Not starch. Indigo bleeds off yellow.

Surely you’ve done dumber things in selvedge denim after a night at the pub 😆
Never ended up in a bathtub wearing a shirt. The shirt usually came off.
I know this absolutely sucked! Haven't even started yet, your face says it all lol it probably had a ton of starch in it.
It had a lot. Haven’t seen that much since my old Japan made Lee.
