Barbadian born Rodney "RS Cyclone"
Straughn started singing Calypso in 2001 at a St. Philip Calypso Competition. A song writer, calypsonian and entertainer who began writing at age ten (10) and made his first public performance at age fifteen (15).
In 2003 & 2004 under the stage name Mr. Wendell he joined the Hit Parade Calypso Tent then performed with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) Cavalcade 2005,
Tornadoes in 2005 & 2006, Super Gladiators 2007. Entered Headliners in 2008 with a name changed to "Cyclone" inspired by MC/Calypsonian/Comedian Mac Fingal on hearing renditions of Social Commentary written/sung by Straughn entitled "De Bajan Way" and "David Thompson. Straughn later moved on to Celebration Time 2009 & 2010 among artistes such as Alison Hinds, Lil Ric and Edwin Yearwood. Then returned to Tornadoes in 2011 and now known as "RS Cyclone".
He has written in genres of Calypsoes, Soca, Reggae and Gospel. Over the last couple of years, some of his music has been performed by such persons as McDonald Blenman sobriquet "Mighty Grynner'" (Mash dem Up and Party Again), Eating" sung by John King in 2014 and Juliana Sealy known as "Lady Virtue" who was selected as a 2016 semifinalists for Pic-O-de Crop with one of her renditions co- written with RS Cyclone's entitled "m", "Sweet Food", "Respect Due and Crying Child" among others at various venues and functions across Barbados.
RS Cyclone can also be heard on a compilation compact disc of artiste entitled "Caribbean Hott Party', Volume 3 for 2012 with "Respect Due" and Volume 4 for 2013 with "Down the Road.
