After watching this repeatedly as a kid, it blows my mind to now know that the actor playing the one legged toy soldier is Bryan Cranston 🤯
OMG I said to my friend 10 years ago when BB came out, "That voice is from somewhen in my childhood". I even showed him this beautiful, beautiful video and we weren't sure because even 10 years ago the internet wasn't like it is now.

I didn’t know Bryan Cranston did a voice of a Tin Soldier, but I know Cam Clarke who did a voice of the Little Train. He even did a voice of Dogtanian from Dogtanian & the 3 Muskehounds.

I owned this (and Flower Angel) as a kid, I've only got Flower Angel on VHS now and have found the original series, this was made from a hodgepodge of shorts as it was! Will have to hunt a copy of this and get some transfer gear again
Well, that's good to know.
I'd imagine the odd edit to remove the "End First Part" and "Second Part" screens along with the scene afterwards might be identical on all copies of the UK VHS so I don't think you're missing much.
Unless you want to make a better rip than what you're seeing here.
@@Gilby1385 better rips are always wanted. Shame that sometimes there's odd audio levels that can't be fixed. Harmony Gold releases are I think essentially the second releases of some of the Kids Cartoon Network stuff. There's some quick and dirty blocking out of the original "whoeveritwas presents" :D
@@inkypaws7610 InterSound is InterVision and InterVision is Harmony Gold as every HG production is InterSound dubbed which makes them the same thing as an in house InterVision Animations dubbings brand so therefore KCC is the native UK label being owned in house by InterVision themselves in the UK albeit some copies Mono and bad warpy Mono at that like my KCC one but then you get a lucky dip Hi-Fi copy like this one the distribution house is so crap I wish my one was this quality with my copies better contrast and less over exposed brightness.
And MasterVision it's just Mastertronic Games selling mainly InterVision tapes but a few others on this MasterTronic owned label but they sell them on BASF Chrome tapes at their well known for discount prices so they got so much of a loss on the quality tapes there was probably more money put in premium tape than turnover on the cheap releases so they went out of business quick that is the copy I'm hoping for a cap of one day the Chrome tape should mean best quality from a VHS of the 80s as there were no metal blank VHS then so Chrome was the best.
Doubled up Mono capture card with it being RF for VHS and Mono VHS version would probably be even worse quality than the bad luck of the draw on the Italian one if that was a good player every version is better than mine I got the bad draw same as this but English if you hear the badness of this sound clone it with Mono RF picture quality with analogue waves all over the picture and a wavy line on the top for me over even Scart on the TV my copy was bad.
This is exactly the same as mine in Italian mine even has the glitch in the sound where the train crashes into the things in the intro so that Italian copy came out of the same plant as my pop luck bad pirate english one.

Honestly with the brightness and even the 2 splices mine is still worse quality because of the sound but then mine is Christmas 1985 2 months after the sound score was made and not the 1986-87 KCC's of it as I remember getting it and Frog Song both for Christmas my birth year older copies might have been crap pirate quality draws in general and the Mono Harmony Gold Italian might be 1985 and Wolf's might have been 1986-1987.
I definitely think Poo Gold's luck of the draw for a good copy of this considering it's rarity is really bad it's a higher level of Poo then many of their dubs outside of TV Productions like Dragonball Normal which they intentionally made better because it's gotta be suitable dubbing for the TV platform straight to VHS they were mostly awful just to bring it out dubbed fast to make money on it because it's a Japanese import.
Italian VHS exclusives it seems like they put more care into these like the TV productions it's better than their sub par dubbing probably because they haven't had the same Japanese pipe it out fast demand for Italian and French European Dessin ANIME as they call it so they took a bit more time and care into it like those made for TV movie and TV productions of Dragonball other than the name changes which they could have gotten the name rights for if they had carried on with it probably would have been a good version.
But then does TV really count as Harmony Gold higher quality dubs because they are under Gold Screen in copyright documents not normal Harmony Gold banner name although the French and Italian Dessin films this goes under are.
