I think it's likely that you ended up miscounting vs one escaping. Running at 60 mph if a fish jumps and pushes the lid up enough to escape the fierce of the 60 mph wind would have completely pushed the lid open & it would have stayed open making it obvious what had happened. This is one reason guys use those cull tag thingy systems so you can never lose track of the number of fish you have ...
Looking forward to wheeler, it’s fishing different. They killed all the grass so I’m assuming the fish will be deep in the ledges. I was there a few weeks ago and caught a few. Had to slow it down and fish a tube off some points, I bet they were transitioning to the middle. Anyway, I’m sure you’ll find them. I may make the trip up to my camp to check it out and maybe even drop the boat and follow a few around, just hope the wind doesn’t blow because that place is line the Great Lakes when there is wind!!
Ben how frustrating! Anglers shall, at all times, conduct themselves in a professional manner that demonstrates integrity, honor and respect toward fellow competitors, tournament staff and the general public and does not reflect unfavorably on B.A.S.S., its members, officers or representatives, tournaments or sponsors. Anglers are frequently in the public eye and are considered role models by young people; therefore, it is imperative that tournament competitors demonstrate good sportsmanship in fishing. Sportsmanship is defined as fair play, respect for opponents and polite behavior while competing in the sport.
(i) Following are examples of unacceptable behavior by competitors in B.A.S.S. events that will be cause for penalties as outlined in this document...
• Displays of anger and displeasure for reasons related to fishing competition where members of the public, including other anglers, spectators and the media, are present. "
This kind of action should not be considered a role model for young people and would "reflect unfavorably on B.A.S.S"
Just my opinion. Everyone has bad days but at least don't put this kind of stuff on UA-cam or other media. Again just my opinion. Wishing all the best in the future but have to act like a champion even when the cards don't fall your way.

I think it’s going to be a tough stretch. Wheeler was on the cone up last year and then the tva killed the grass. I still caught a few two weeks ago but it’ll be completely different when they get there, smallmouth should be a player on the bluff walls, largemouth on the ledges and a few shallow fish.a tube was the player two weeks ago but that spro little John dd chartreuse and blue will be good in June.
Smith Lake just sucks in my opinion but I’m not good at deep clear water, I figure ffs will be a player and anyone good with northern fish will be fine but the weights will be very low.
Ain't it amazing how easy it is when you in the moment and culled a ton and if your struggling some what.. how easy it is to forget how to count to 5 ?? Dude I have did it several times lucky I'm always over ......so far it's easier than you think to mess up i know
