“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

Probably one of the most amusing scenes, the way they are trying to upstage each other in their problems and generally. Chris Pine and Billy Magnussen just play it so hilariously over the top that it just works and is hilarious!
Whoever blocked the scene deserves an Oscar. It's so well choreographed and filmed. EDIT: Not saying the actors aren't phenomenal too, but it's so great because all the elements come together so nicely.

When my family and I watched this in the movie theaters My brother and I were laughing during this and during this song before they opened their shirts my brother said "I'll bet you one of them takes off their shirt." Funniest scene in the movie for an incredible song
I couldn't stop laughing when they 'ripped open' their shirt or polo. Haha
One of the biggest mistakes of this movie musical rendition is that they didn't do the agony reprise. It truly made you realize that these guys couldn't be happy unless they were after the unattainable. Plus, it is an equally funny song. INTO THE WOODS is one of my favorite musicals, but the movie just didn't have the same emotional impact as the actual musical. Sondheim gave each character such depth and they cut so much of that out in the film. Normally I am a sobbing basketcase as soon as the baker and his dead wife start singing the reprise of No One is Alone and then it gets worse when the witch and the cast join them singing Children Will Listen. I understood why they ended the movie as they did, but it lost the flow and I was dry-eyed despite a fantastic cast and a gorgeous set. I've seen high-school renditions with more heart. I truly believe some things do not work the same on screen as on stage.
