As someone who has been a fan since the + days, I wasn't sure we would get an album that would top ÷. Well after listening to this album all the way through multiple times, I believe this is his best album yet. Just incredible.
Ed has said in interviews that he will release the original version of Subtract in the future. Could be called Subtracted, Subtract: The B Side, or something else. This is already a special era. My favorite songs off Subtract are Boat, Salt Water, Life Goes On, End Of Youth, Curtains, Borderline, Spark, Sycamore, The Hills of Aberfeldy, Toughest, and Moving. The entire album is phenomenal, but those are my current favorites if I had to choose.

to answer your question, no we are not ok after listening to this album. As incredibly sad as it is, Salt Water really spoke to me, and Curtains took a sec to grow on me but it gives me that spark of hope after all this sadness. Borderline has that gorgeous falsetto that sets it apart from the others. Toughest is very hopeful as well. Eyes Closed was originally written as a breakup song but he changed it to a grief/loss song after losing his best friend. I was crying after watching the music videos

Amazing reaction.. some of those songs are tough to listen to in a good way.. just the storytelling and emotions behind them.
