Padres say stuff like “He’s way more of a need for the padres than the dodgers “ like that’s a good thing. Why would you not want to play for a well run organization that wins and expects to win year after year. Also people pretend baseball is like the nba where the most talented team usually wins it all In baseball maybe 20% of the best team wins it all . All padres fans ever say it tje injuries the dodgers have dealt with these last 2 years which have spiked all throughout the league the dodgers have just gotten it a bit worse but look at their track record beyond 2 years.. most ROY and most CY young’s out of all organizations doesn’t just happen by accident They are a storied franchise for a reason. Meanwhile the padres have a 5 years stretch where they’ve made the playoffs 3 times.. 2 times losing to the dodgers who went on to win it all and the farthest they’ve gotten is losing in NLCS Any realistic padre fan would admit you probably just witnessed their peak.. I think their realistic window is about 2 more years. Machado and boegarts contracts both awful and both aging ..the padres are a mid market and financial issues were already a thing and will only get worse when they fall off and fans stop showing up because let’s be honest the padres don’t have a history of loyal fans. A lot of fair weathers rn due to lack of sports in SD + “successful “ run they’ve had these last 5. You can say that he’s taking the easy road by picking the dodgers and all this nonsense but not picking the team who could offer you literally everything you supposedly want seems dumb and I actually do believe roki is gonna be a padre.. I think the peer pressure of not following a stacked team is gonna do it If Yamamoto signed with Yankees last year sasaki would 100% be a dodger ..
@@paulvon2378what team wouldn’t sign him lol? Of course Dodgers will take one of the biggest pitching prospects. Any real fan would want their team to do what the dodgers are doing, yall teams just don’t care about winning they way dodgers do
Padres absolutely need Sasaki the Dodgers just want Sasaki because why not🙄 You have to wonder what motivates Roki at this point if it money and winning 🏆 then why are the Padres and Blue Jays finalist over the Yankees and Mets🤔💭
@@Lien03 what are the Dodgers going to do with Kershaw, Gonsolin, Dustin May plus their younger pitchers🤔💭 seems like Roki Sasaki will just be part of a pitching cluster in LA especially if players are getting healthier😏
@@phillipowens3612 if Roki wants to win and be the best pitcher then he should sign with Dodgers. He should learn from Ohtani signing with the Angels and couldn’t win. Now Ohtani is more popular than ever with the Dodgers
Money is on the Dodgers since it's not just all about the money in Sasaki's first MLB contract, but where he will fit in and develop into an elite MLB pitcher. Dodgers are a stable franchise that can provide all the resources for Sasaki to develop to the next level. In Japanese culture tradition, organization, and stability are important. Given the current ownership turmoil at the Padres, it doesn't look well. Sasaki will make more money in endorsements over the lifetime of his first MLB contract. As far as marketability for Sasaki, LA is a better destination for his brand. There is a large Japanese population in Los Angeles and there are direct flights to Japan.
Roki was also interested in each teams farm system. With the new rankings released a few days ago this is what he would be looking at Padres #23 Leodalis #40 Salas Dodgers #8 Hope #9 De Paula #22 Rushing #52 Ferris #82 Freeland Blue Jays No top 101 prospects
@ Hopefully. But at this point it feels 50-50 between the Padres and Dodgers. Dodgers are obviously the best option for him because of the six man rotation. I don’t think there is any way he stays healthy in a five man rotation
Im a Dodger fan and Sasaki should beva Padre. The fact that he and his agent have run a Bachelor like contest os absurd. Its not the money since hes getting a max foriegn player contract. Its ego and thats not geeat on a team that already has reached the championship level. Dodgers dont need Sasaki. Sign a few relievers.
I just don’t see how Roki could stay healthy in a five man rotation. And I don’t see how the Padres can offer him more than that. It’s not realistic to expect him to stay healthy pitching in a five man rotation for a longer season while facing much better hitters (longer more stressful innings) when he couldnt stay healthy pitching once a week in Japan. I feel like if he tries pitching in a five man rotation he’s just gonna end up being the next Dustin May
😂😂😂😂😂 wish I could’ve seen the look on both your faces this morning when they announced roki out for signing San Diego
Tune in at 2 p.m.
@ for sure … can’t miss the dodger updates 😂

All of a sudden everyone wants roki but nobody was even scouting him years ago like the dodgers lol
Maybe you missed that AJ Preller has been scouting him since he was a teenager.
