  • Ruger LCRx with the 3" barrel is a different looking gun, it needed a review. I will learn to shoot a double action revolver.

    Used to carry a Glock 19 IWB, a G26 in a ankle rig and 2 17 round spare magazines. I was tactical as all get out. Now I'm more practical (and a lot older). A Glock 30s, 1911 or a .38 Special is all I carry. I'm good with 5 rounds of .38 Special and a 6 round speed strip in my pocket. That Ruger LCR will serve you just fine if that's what YOU choose to carry. Thanks for sharing

      1st rule of the gun fight. I carry the Smith 915 and the 632 lately, but this could be an add. UGD

      Unless you are a "professional" of some kind; Unless you are planning to travel close to a BLM-rally; You don't need too-much gun on your person. I'm in my late-forties and I have never been in a gunfight, let alone been attacked by a pack of gun-toting ninjas. LCR in .38 is plenty.

      I am a real estate agent and every so often have to venture into the city (Minneapolis) where post 2020, the emboldened perps commonly travel in packs with high quality firearms, often having 30 round magazines. I roll with a P365 or the X Macro minimum (sadly).

    I've had a 3" Ruger LCRx for a few months. It's lighter than most revolvers I have but is a good shooter and well made. When it comes to revolvers, Ruger delivers.

      We just started shoot the LCR in 357, first thing was the trigger is not as good as the LCRx. LCRx is a great carry choice. Thanks for the view Weatherly, UGD

    Those are challenging pistols to choose for trying out DA shooting: both are super-light (not as stable as a heavier revolver) and the S&W is a snubby with reduced grip purchase and all the shot-energy will transfer right to your hand. I have three LCRx's; .38 snubby, .38 3", and .22LR 3". They are all keepers. Great guns!

    I like mine, the only problem I've had was the pin in the rear sight jarring loose while firing. In fact I lost the original pin, but Ruger sent me a new one and its been good ever since. Actually the only other thing was that little white patch on the front sight also came out, so if its important to you to have the contrast, definitely change out for a different sight, I've just elected to forget about it, I grew up on black on black sights anyway,

    I had a 9mm, 38, and 357mag LCR or LCRX. Couldn’t warm up to them. All shot good, but just bigger and bulkier then an Airweight. And no decent pocketable grips available! Love browsing the selection of J Frame grips, could spend hours drooling over them.
    Current EDC small pistol is Springfield Armory 911 (replaced my last G42 cause I’m just as accurate with it and it’s smaller and cooler looking) in a Remora Micro holster for AIWB carry or a Desantis Superfly for pocket carry. Glock 17/Gen3 another time, in a JM Customs Wing 2.5. Can’t find a place for the G2C, even though it’s a good pistol and has never failed, I just don’t like the recoil. Sissy Guy here, and prefers a bigger weapon.
    Keep making videos! They make my day!

    I have one and love it for the range and just grabbing it as I head out to the store or where ever. I plan on carrying it this winter when it's easier to conceal. I also own a Ruger LCRX 9mm and a Ruger LCR 357. Yes I am a Ruger Fan. My question is how did you get the letters colored as you did and what did you do to the frame that it looks more metallic than mine ever will?

    Y'know, if this is essentially a polymer framed version of the sp101, I'd actually like to see a polymer version of the GP100, a lightweight yet duty sized revolver holding 6 rounds of .357 actually sounds like a pretty appealing idea to me.

    • @usedgundude1035
      @usedgundude1035  6 років тому +1

    • @PerceptionVsReality333
      @PerceptionVsReality333 5 років тому +2

      I don't think a polymer framed GP100 would withstand the pressures of .357 magnum. That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

    I'm sure you already knew this, but be careful & use DEEP concealment when going to a post office. They don't allow firearms & are very anal about it. Something like a small Kel-Tec automatic carried in a pocket holster ought to be concealable enough there though. In answer to your question at the end of the video; I only have plans on buying one .38 Special revolver at the present time, when I find one like I want, of course that could change as circumstances change. Love the name of your channel. I think most, if not all, firearms I buy from now on will be used ones.

    just to add a bit of humor to the comments below,when you are from Canada,it sounds simply absurd to read,'"great handgun to take to the store,or backpacking!Up here,handguns stay locked in a safe place,and you couldnt fire one on your own property even if you lived in the middle of nowhere.Pretty much,you take them from your cabinet,phone the local gun range to tell them you are coming,transport the handgun to range and then directly back to your property,or suffer the consequences if you get caught doing otherwise.

      UsedGunDude Exactly. This about the first Ruger product I like. It is a great open carry/ outdoors gun for non bear sized issues. You are not afraid to scratch or get it wet in the rain. Good glovebox or boat gun. It is good entry-level house gun. Easy to load, shoot, and fits most hands. Hell, it is perfect rent a cop gun. Something you pack a lot, and fire little. Better than any Hi Point pistol. Just wish it had 7 shots like Taurus has.
