Heavy stuff! Some seriously advanced ideas that I don't know if my ears are ready for
Indeed it is! Keep on listening, introduce some of those ideas into your playing mixed with what you can hear already. Then, little by little, you will begin to hear them….
Thanks for your comments and support! Keep on keepin’ on and be inspired! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Each solo in the playlist sheds light on the other. Especially these solos Bergonzi, Berg, Thomas, Sambeat, and McLaughlin…..
Look out for more great solos to come😉😉
Very notey. Very notey.
Donna Lee usually offers a lot of lines at such a high tempo. However, there is indeed a lot of interesting content here and motivic development. Thanks for your comments and support. Be inspired, motivated, and subscribe to watch the other solos too…. 🙏🏽😉
What slo down Used? Perfect pitch?
I use Transcribe! for difficult passages. However, because Gary’s chromaticism is extremely challenging for the ears, having incredible relative pitch developed over the years is helpful too.
Research the B.S Gary went through at Peabody!@@contemporarylatinjazzguitar
Gary is the founder, director and chair of the Jazz Department at Peabody and he studied at Howard University. Wallace Roney was at Howard at the same time…..
Thanks for the enthusiasm and your great support….
@@contemporarylatinjazzguitarGary hasn’t worked at Peabody in years.
@@contemporarylatinjazzguitarWhit Williams was first approached. He didnt want his S.S pension taxed. He recommended Gary. I played with both on guitar.
That solo was not interesting at all to me.
Thank you for your comment. Your assessment is to be expected. All solos tend to resonate differently with each listener due to our own unique and subjective set of values.
I too can list many solos that I felt weren’t interesting at all for certain content specific material. However, I do marvel at the genius behind the many processes needed to compose such solos in the moment.
Thank you for supporting the channel and for giving the solo a listen.
Be inspired and motivated!!!!
" IN THE MOMENT" IS NOT IN THE MOMENT ,,IT TAKES PRACTICE,,OF DETAIL WORK,REPETITION OF LINES ..OVER AND OVER..." YOU DONT PLAY SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE NOT PRACTICE.@@contemporarylatinjazzguitar
Yes, all of the solos are a true testament to hard work, diligence, hearing, and many other factors. However, the moment does play a significant role in influencing what one actually plays in the moment. Thank you for your comments and support.
Please subscribe and be inspired!
Look out for more great solos!🙏🏽🙏🏽
Just say you cant hear it.
@@GeoffBournes No doubt it was technically proficient. I just didn't find it interesting at all.
