I ordered Party of One from BookOutlet a couple weeks ago. I should receive it soon. I checked it out from my library a few months ago and never got around to reading it but I was excited to see it on BookOutlet for a really good price.

The Lemay biography stopped at volume three because he died shortly after the third volume was published.

@@TheHistoryShelf There are so many examples of multi-volume works not being completed due to the death of the author. I have my fingers crossed that Robert Caro will be able to finish his Lyndon Johnson multi-volume biography!

I got a couple biographies on Benjamin Franklin. Have you seen the clips on the movie with Michael Douglas playing Franklin. Looks interesting. I didn’t know Franklin loved the ladies. Interesting to see if anything about this in your books.

Love a used books haul -- I've been using several US suppliers to source used & ex-library volumes of Library of America editions. It's astonishing how many of them clearly haven't been read and (apart from usual stickers) they're often practically in like-new condition. Often much cheaper than trying to source them used here in the UK!
One of them even came from an international school in France, donated by the US Embassy! Keep up the excellent work! Loooking forward to seeing your LOA collection at some point🤣[*_big_* hole in the UA-cam market for this, as nobody has done a good collection video yet!]

Keep the pressure on, lol! But now that I have a bigger desk, I think I can start doing LOA episodes….shelf by shelf!

The Nick Lloyd book on Passchendaele is excellent. I visited the area a few years ago staying at nearby Ypres (now known as Ieper). The Tyne Cot cemetery there is the largest British war cemetery in the world. Nick Lloyd's Western Front, I agree, is also very good. Have just got, but not yet read, Eastern Front - it has certainly had some good reviews.

Enjoy your new command post. We have started watching Michael Douglas as Ben, filming in candlelight irritates the life out of me. I can make the leap that they used candlelight without directors filming in it. Just puts us old people to sleep. Some interesting books thus far, I read The Lowells of Massachusetts, as well as I remember, I enjoyed it. Read it about the same time of the Peabody Sisters, I think they were relatives. Okay, it is warm here, so I'm making an ice tea, but your London Fog tea looks tasty. "Peace with honor," the recent lauding of Dr. Strangelove was very difficult for me, since he had decades that many people did not have, were the lauders conscious in the seventies, did they not have televisions? I hope it is an enjoyable novel, but it is difficult to imagine how the Last of the Annamese could be, please let us know. The next novel sounds like it is based on Cyprus. I read the Murdoch, as well as I remember, it is based on Philby types at Cambridge, except Oxford crowd of commies, I love to read about Philby and the rest non-fiction. In any case, enjoy your reads.

Another fascinating video, Peg. A wonderful list of books, although I need to read a lot more US history before I'm ready for any 7 volume biography, even one of Benjamin Franklin, Lol.

The Benjamin Franklin set intrigues me. I've read his autobiography & thought it was interesting. He was ahead of his time in many ways. I get what you mean about volumes though, I bought a 3 book set of Churchill - his autobiography is a 6 book set - I wasn't ready to commit to that :). I've read the 1st book (1,000 pgs small print) very good. I hope to see a review of your thoughts on Franklin one day :) I also thought the Lowells sounded interesting. Who knew someone was before the Kennedy's ? Lol.
