To be able to see the humanity and kindness, realness, in Bob and Howie, talking about the old days, feeling their heartbreak about the loss of Norm…It’s special stuff. When Saget passed away, we all heard how much of a generous, sweet, kind fellow he was. That’s so clear here. Gilbert, too. Just absolute mensches. We have to be thankful, even though these icons- Bob, Norm, and Glibert- aren’t here anymore. Thankful to have been alive in their lifetime. They made us laugh. Hard. In a f’d up world, laughing is such essential medicine. ❤
"I don't want to make fun of you, you're my friend." There is something about that coming form a comedian like Norm that is pretty impactful honestly. Bob even seem to get a little emotional when thinking about it.

Everything you said about bobs eulogy of norm was spot on , I felt the exact same way it was so sad but so needed , norm was extraordinarily brilliant.
I can now say that after writing to Bob about his eulogy for norm and how it spoke for everyone who loved norm and I told him about how I was lucky enough to converse with norm online in the year and a half before he passed & how I thought norm would like that Bob was reaching out to artie and went into series podcast and I think norm would love that and what a great friend Bob really is and how valuable that is. Bob replied and thanked me. Not long after then Bob passed and my heart was broken once more. I like to think they are up there together now laughing

I was crying as well listening to Bob’s podcast about Norm. Howie - you mentioned taking a deep dive into Norm stuff after the sad news. The really odd thing for me was that I was in a deep dive for 2-3 weeks prior to his untimely passing. I was then in total shock. Still am. Still watching Norm videos daily. May he Rest In Peace
Strangely enough, I also went on a norm binge a couple weeks before he died. And I continue to keep trying to find more… I never care when someone I don’t know dies, but there really is something special about this Norm guy, he’s nothing like the other showbiz folk

Bob was such an awesome guy. I once left a comment on his YT channel and he responded overnight. Gilbert was on his podcast, and it was great. My comment was “when is Norm gonna be on?” And he quickly responded “it will happen”. I felt his love for Norm in that he bothered to answer me. Tragically, the episode could never be.

Norm had spent a week here before he was famous and took the time to call the man he’d stayed with to see if he was ok. Such a class act. I hope he’s finally at peace. ❤️

When watching interviews e.g - Larry King and they discussed other more series issues, you could see that he thought a lot about things, caring and sincere. That’s a rare thing to find in any human being let alone a celebrity. He was just one of us, no I’m all that, just a beautiful soul. ❤️

What a crazy couple months for comedy. Norm, Bob and now Gilbert Gottfried, we are losing so many legends. I love watching these clips of them all talking about the good ole days.
2 great Canadians passed away a year apart.. and both legends, and both started with the letter N. and both died of cancer. and both kept it from the limelight.. NEIL PEART ( drummer for RUSH) & NORM MACDONALD. other than some family members , I can't think of any others that shook me so much with their deaths.

And he was funny, so LM @snl can go outside and go play hide and go bleep himself… (forgot to mention Gilbert is the best! At 54 I grew up on his humor! We all did! So funny)
Norm liked to mess with peoples' expectations. If you asked him to tell a story or joke he wouldn't want to tell it. If you expected him to trash Don Ohlmeyer he'd say "Nah he's' a good guy." Same thing with him when it came to politics and religion in comedy. You see Norm is going to be on a roast and you think he's going to crush everyone, then he does the complete opposite.
i've now watched a few podcasts from Howie. tbh, i'm quite surprised at how compelling Howie is with his discussion so far. i hope this does well. and having said that, Howie is going to have to go out on some limbs at some point, and he might pay the price. frankly, i hope he does, so others with less power and influence can come up behind him, and we can crush the censorship/cancel culture tsunami that has consumed comedy over the last couple of years.
Does anyone else now just have this urge to look at him and try to memorize his ticks in the moments of this video? I'm trying more than when he was alive to sort of take him in as a person, especially given how recent this interview was. There he is and he's fine in November. This really sucks man, like it did with Norm.

Lorne was fine with Norm being let go from Weekend Update but had a problem with it being done in the middle of the season, which was a bad look for SNL. If Norm was replaced in the off-season no one would have really cared. Instead, it's what Don Ohlmeyer is most famous for.
You can't spell Don Ohlmeyer w/o spelling 'Doh!' Oh, was that the wrong Simpson? Never heard of Don in any other context, but Norm's comedy lives beyond his death and is loved by people of all ages. Sounds funny to me. showbiz is "dirty work", it seems.
I've always been a huge Bob Saget fan a when he was on H3H3 a few years ago they kept bringing up the Gottfried roast, it was so uncomfortable and Bob looked so uncomfortable. Saget. Gottfried, McDonald and Mandel are amazing!
