This brought back memories of me going to Tunica and The Grand Casino (Harrah’s) back in the late 90’s. Thanks for positing this. Makes me sad that it’s gone, but have lots of great memories.
Miss this place. Only true resort in Tunica. Had golf course; spa; multiple pools; shooting clays course; other amenities. It really sent Tunica downhill when it closed. Wish some entity had taken it over and maybe improved it. Best place by far to actually stay in Tunica.
Omg, I cried!! At least it was cool to see it again. We still can’t believe it closed!! The good old days were when it was The Grand. My hubs and I won lots of money there, hit many jackpots. One of the best times was one night I hit SEVEN jackpots, no kidding! We watched John Dailey play two $500 slot machines another night. He went through about $25,000 pretty quick. Just have good memories from that place. The hotels, golf course, oh! and the pools!! Just a great place to stay and play. When they closed it, my gosh, the rest of the casinos there are really going downhill. They don’t pay out anything like they used to. You’re a big winner if you can just break even. We rarely go anymore. No fun if you can’t win. Wow, didn’t mean to write a book but thanks for sharing this place. We sure do miss it. I still cannot believe someone somewhere didn’t buy it!!! If you still play, good luck to you!!

Just found out today Harrah's is shuttering the Grand in June 2014. Too bad because I have always thought it is one of the nicer Tunica properties. Biggest problem with the place is the unattached hotel is too far away from the casino and shuttle bus is a major pain in the butt. The so-called attached hotel to the casino really isn't either. A lot of thing were done very wrong when this property was designed and frequent visitors to Tunica like myself are easily turned off when it comes to certain inconveniences. The Horseshoe is dirty and I have always thought the machines were tight. At least you can actually win money at the Grand.
Always quit while you are Ahead . But Easier said than done . That piggie machine wondering if you can stop the spins and control your destiny a little . Instead of taking what the slot gave you . Some games you can stop each spin by pressing button.

Harrah's got bought out by Caesars Entertainment about a week or so. So the next time you they should have the name changed.
