Do you have a set of videos putting the engine back together , I’m doing a head gasket replacement , I specifically want to know about the timing chain

I'm thinking about tipping my engine over a little to take off the cylinders and put in high compression pistons. Would something like honing the cylinders have to be done since it would be brand new pistons?
I've got a broken off mid shaft that holds the u joint leading to the drive shaft. So might as well tip the engine and throw some upgrades in if everything else is torn apart anyway. I think the case has to be cracked to actually replace that middle pinion gear but I'm going to try the fix where I thread the inside of it and use a new bolt.

Does the cylinder head have to come off of the rear cylinder to replace the lower timing chain gear?

Engine would definitely have to be pulled out to replace a head gasket right? I don't see there being room to pull the head off while it's in the motorcycle.

i have a 2007 vstar 1100. the bike sat for 7 years. i got the bike home and sprayed some carb cleaner in her and she fired up. drove it around the block a few times and it ran pretty good. bike had good power. the next day i washed the bike. when to start it a few hours later and it wouldn't start! it started to back fire out of the carbs. did a compression test and both cylinders are dead. one has like 30 psi and the other at 0. I didnt clean the tank and ran bad gas that first trip. what would cause no compression in both cylinders? i checked the timing and all seems to be well. I adjusted the valves and still nothing. i am currently soaking the cylinders hoping its a stuck ring that can be freed. I am also going to do a leakdown test tomorrow. the gas that was in it was pretty bad it was like a sludge. any info would be greatly appreciated. thank you! Great video!

Where can I get an engine rebuild kit for an 1100

If it is a newer 1100. I would suggest a Yamaha dealership. There are a lot of pieces in this engine and it's not a job for a beginner. Thanks for the question! I have a 2008 VStar 1300. I'm trying to find a lense and thin metal band 3/8" diameter x 1/4" from an inspection camera that fell down the channel next to the timing chain. Do you know if there is room for it to make its way down to the oil pan?

I have a 2002 vstar 1100 and i am having issues with 1st gear popping up to neutral. Most shops dont want to do the work on this bike idk why. But some shops said that most likely that could be transmission issue. Should I replace clutch and starter clutch system first before i work on transmission. Trying to minimize cost. Or do you do rebuilds if so how how much?

🤣 he's like we're going to pull this cylinder head, yet it's obvious the oil line is in the way. This engine never made it back together... and if it did, it didn't last long!

I don't know about you guys but I would be very very nervous letting this gentleman touch my 1100cc Star cruiser...to many loose parts sitting all over the place and a lot of "oops"..
