This is delightful. I can't get enough of Fred and Ginger movies--just watching those two dance is a never-ending treat. But it's so much fun to see talented tributes to them, such as this one.
What a delightful medley of the singing and dancing talents of both Julie and Ken.....they can really recreate the Fred and Ginger style from some of their famous films. Their tap dancing skills are terrific!
Astaire and Rogers are timeless legends. The made surpassingly difficult and challenging things, seem, lighter-then-air, easy. They attracted the most talented composers who matched their excellence. Gershwin, Berlin, Kern, Porter....It doesn't get any better than this. Julie's pleasantly entertaining tribute was well earned. See their original films, especially the best of their classics.....Top Hat, Swing Time, Follow the Fleet, The Gay Divorcee, Shall We Dance, Carefree.....
Enjoyed Ken Berry and Julie together wished she had a routine w him on every show. His skills are excellent, acting , dancing....Julie and his voice blend the best. Loved him in F Troop he did sing a few times on the show. And had a brief dance scene in two episodes. His comic talent at " pratfall" amazing ! Thanks for the fun both of you. Ken and Julie my best for you.) 💜💋....thats for Ken !
Now we get to enjoy the classy Julie Andrews who has the most amazing talent and beautiful voice. Even compliment with Ken Berry. Great duo together. Thank you for the upload.
I saw Ken Berry in Fort Worth back in the seventies in "Promises, Promises" and he played the whole show with a nagging cold (in character) and it wasn't until after the show he signed off without the cold. It was amazing. He was so good I thought he had a cold! Songs, dance and acting all at once. I wonder if getting the non-singing role in "F-Troop" didn't curtail his song and dance career as his first choice?
I'll make an attempt at placing these dance numbers. 1. "I Won't Dance" from "Roberta", 1935 2. "Cheek to Cheek" from "Top Hat", 1935 3. "The Continental" from "Gay Divorcee", 1934 4. "Top Hat, White Tie and Tails" from "Top Hat", 1935 5. "Let's Face the Music and Dance" from "Follow the Fleet", 1936 6. "Carioca" from "Flying Down to Rio", 1933 7. "Change Partners" from "Carefree", 1938 8. "Let Yourself Go" from "Follow the Fleet", 1936 9. "Cheek to Cheek" reprise No music and dance from "Swing Time", Shall We Dance?", "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle" or "The Barkleys of Broadway".
Julie is one of my role models. I would love her to hear one of my recordings - that would indeed be a pleasure for me. But I guess she's a LITTLE too busy!!
It's lovely seeing these but I can't help shedding a tear because I wish Julie could sing and dance like that again..... The doctor who stole her gift should get kicked in the balls
Honestly...? Try to be fred and ginger? I have never heard or saw anything more ridiculous thing. Julie maybe sing and dance but her and her partner never get even close to FRED AND GINGER. Shouldn't even try. Make themselves only ridiculous.
They took a tremendous amount of heat from the press and the public when this was produced, even though it really is a great performance. There was a lot of nostalgia for the Golden Age of Hollywood in those days, while movies like the exorcist and the godfather and dirty harry were being shown as 'true to life' but when even terrific talents like berry and andrews tried to reproduce that stuff, well they just couldn't. Julie has one of the great voices but she can't begin to act or dance like Ginger Rogers... two different levels of ability
@@brAveNewWorld-q3n She's actually an excellent actress too (much wider _range_ than GR). Compared to many, she's also a pretty competent dancer; sure, not in the same league as Ginger Rogers - but this was only supposed to be a tribute, not an imitation. It's only intended to _entertain_ (and tribute), not match.
Julie is the complete package! I love her!

Wonderful clip to see. Ah, the good old days.

42 yrs after this tribute, and some of us are loving Ginger (and Fred) for the first time!
Chip Panzee thnx to Julie & Ken! I still wish they can remaster her Julie Andrews' Hour on Netflix if not doable on DVD's
Julie & Ken are more adorable & amazing
People seem to always forget what a wonderful dancer Ken Berry was. His Astaire imitation is perfection!
And Ken Berry's voice is more sonorous, melodic than Fred's. A wonderful singer.

Kicked in the balls? That's too good for him. It breaks my heart every time I think about what he did to such a beautiful, talented woman.
I imagine she can still out-_dance_ most people, alowing for age.
Wow!!
Great !!!!!3
Marvelous! (But I can't stand those recorded laughs and clapping)
What a beautiful couple ! Fred and Ginger , Julie and Ken - beautiful , elegant !!!!!!!!!!Thank you for uploading !
Sorry it’s so bad it’s embarrassing.

@@G6JPG i just pointed out that the critics were correct... while complimenting these two honestly
