I'll tell you where I'd start.......go to the Fusion website and pick out what I want and then get with Tyler. BANG....!....done. I always pick up excellent information when I listen to your instruction so please do continue. Thank you Bob and Company for all y'all do.
Can’t wait for this series to play out. I’m pretty deep into my 2nd 1911 build, but I truly appreciate all the knowledge bombs Mr. Serva drops in these videos
Thanks again from Canada, in the upcoming vids if you could touch on the things to watch out for as far as parts finish as I have not found anyone up here who does DLC, or other top end tough coatings so my build would be a Cerakote maybe not the best but have done several CZs and abuse of the IPSC matches and have held up as good as can be expected. So maybe X safety or X hammer or plunger not good for those coatings or a thousands bigger here or best left untouched and blued (rails?)
Always good information. Glad you found the time for this series. Everyone in the firearm business is busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. For my next build I want to create a 6" 10mm that looks like transition from the 1902 Colt parallel link to the 1911. I need a carbon steel frame with no trigger scallops and full length monolithic dust cover. Tall order so far, I may have to call out the tig welder. I know you can cover me with the slide, a monolithic bald 6". This is going to take time, but the cool factor will be undeniable.
We work on about any of them... My Don't like list is shorter.... My Don't like to work on list: Para's, Llamas, Norinco that come to mind... I will try to do a video on this topic sometime and why I am not fond of them.
No, The most durable will be Nitro Carb( Our Black Shield), Ion bond and Hard Chrome. Stainless will scratch easily and the 400 series stainless used in firearms can also rust if you do not oil and take care of it.
I'd love a Fusion Firearm but not on the CA Roster. You've said that Springfield does something's you don't like for a frame, so do you think a Rock Island 45 ACP to be fitted with your 10mm Carbon Slide Assembly be a good place to work from? I would be purchasing both. Thanks in advance for any info
No real difference in mechanical properties, just the mechanical workings. It really depends on the type of pistol you are trying to build and what is the outcome you want. ..ie... action pistol or hunting or carry, or target pistol.... see our barrel videos they explain more.

This is a great series, looking forward to more episodes!
Thank you!
Excellent advice and information!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looking forward to watching you do a build.
Excellent!

On the Rails, with any of the paint/ceramic products, We just paint over and if too tight lap them in after.
Oftentimes the best answer is to plan two builds. Hard to build one pistol to do everything.
Good idea

Sounds like a cool project!, the frame will be the most difficult to find.
As far as a used brand name 1911 I want re-worked are there particular brands you prefer or brands you don't like?

What’s the most durable finish? Is it stainless steel?

The RIA frame is fine to use, but watch our 10mm conversion video. You will see there are a few other parts you will need.
I'm looking to have a carry gun that doesn't exist currently. A 1911 Commander double stack in 357 Sig.
Custom shop build, on website. This can be done.
I’ve Got a Rough 1911 You Can Use For a Project It’s an ATI 5’Govt Military
We will start a list and pick 1 to rebuild.... We will do an update soon on this.
which is better, bushing barrel or bull barrel?

@@fusionfirearms others said that bull barrel has less recoil
