Got mine in the mail today from Amazon and I immediately installed them.My only recommendation is to make sure the old adhesive is completely removed from the headphones, you can alcohol (alcohol wipes). Other than that, the new ear pads went on like a charm and I am extremely happy with my purchase!
My beats are my prized possession, I wear them daily so it goes without saying that they got pretty mucky over the 2 years I've owned them. I was worried about potentially breaking them but this tutorial is foolproof! Ear pads are fantastic quality - I cannot tell the difference between them and the original ones. Is the left side identical to the right side? I bought replacement (elsewhere) and the left side is perfect, but not the right side (not little gap for the charging port). Seems like I got two left sides.

I have bought 3 pairs of this accessory for Beats Wireless headphones. First one over more than three years ago when the original ear cup (second actually after going once through replacement support) started peeling/unglue off (a known issue) after just about 2 months of usage. A bought a pair for my sister who’s also started ungluing off after less than 6 months of use. And now I’m on just watching this instruction video AGAIN for the third set over more than three years after. And don’t get me wrong, it’s still ok and glued tight, it’s just that the outer layer it’s starting to flake off a bit, pretty much arriving at the very edge of 3+ years constant use that I decided what the hell, let’s make them feel like new and give them an extra 3+ years life shelve. Everything else has broken, I have had to Krazy Glue or strengthen the flexible metallic and plastic hinge joints, luckily quite ‘invisible’. If you don’t mind me asking... what made you realize to find the ‘perfect’ concave plastic ring, the right foam, layer coating, adhesive, etc? Over three years later and I’m still impressed by this, and so DIY vibe to it. If you have a gift for fixing things I would be interested in seeing what else I have that you have a life extension accessory for... heck, people (and me) are willing to pay reasonably over retail price in the end for quality things that will last long (like on some Kickstarter pledges) EDIT: By the way, it’s nice that now the adhesive comes already pre-set on the ear cup, now it’s only peel off and stick it.
Hey, thanks for sharing your story. I do not often get info like this 3 years down the road. Glad to know the pads are still gong strong. Since I started selling Solo 2/3 pads I have made about 3 versions. Slight changes but all better changes. The original beats pads feel nice but the PU leather sed is too fragile and weak. It peels easily. So you need a PU leather that is similar but less super smooth. Anything super smooth is weak. Think about high grade leather versus lower grade leather. High grade leather is often thin and easily damaged. The adhesives were updated to a stronger version but also one that will peel off easily when you need to replace again. The original Beats pad adhesives is very goo like and is a pain to remove. The plastic frame of my pads had to be made to fit our adhesive in order to make sure it sat flush to the headphone. I learnt a lot about ear pads from Beats :). So now I do not go through so many growing pains with new ear pad designs. Yes, I also started having the adhesives pre-installed. That was a big trust thing as the ear pad factory knows how to make ear pads but they are terrible at sticking adhesive. So the first couple years the adhesives had to be installed by customer as I trusted the customer could do it 100% better with my video than a rushed factory worker! I offer loads of accessories in regards to ear pads, carrying cases, some cables. I make the products to the same spec as the original at least but often better than. Some people just want the exact same, others want better or different. I do both. I followed the video and liked the ear pads but I only needed to replace 1 so I can hear the difference in volume and noise cancellation in the new ones. Shame you can’t get official ones to replace the old ones (or if you can, I certainly can’t find any!)
Unfortunately you cannot buy official beats pads unless you go through apple. It costs $150. But solo 2/solo 3 headphones along with studio 2/3 are looking to be discontinued from what I can see. They may not even offer the option soon.
Nice to have a tutorial to watch, even though one would need a severe lack of grey matter to not be able to figure this out blind! But having just performed this on my daughter's Beats then I'm left wondering as to WHY anyone would feel the need to do it, when the audio quality of these phones is so utterly uninspiring? Any number of £30/50 alternatives out perform these things, quite obviously so immediately upon listening...so what's with all the Beats love stuff therefore...just get a new pair of just about any other make!

I amlooking at my Solo 3 headphones. Whilst I can still use them, the foam part of earpad have quite literally fallen off. The foam was adhered to a grey plastic ring. Do I wedge my knife between the grey plastic ring and the black body of the headphone itself? Thanks in advance of your reply.

I know you can buy parts from China for the headband etc but I think you will be better off buying new headphones. Once it gets to this point its often a lost cause. Hard for me to say as I cannot see your headphones but I never bothered to fix the ones in the video.
Use the blue stick, It has an edge on it and it will help remove it. Takes some time to do it and then you might want to rub the rest off. Even just using your finger to rub it off works pretty good for the last stuff remaining.
rismita1 unfortunately no. I will soon have the solo 3 turf green but not hunter green. Special edition headphones are a nice idea but finding the replacement ear pads are impossible as beats does not sell them and 3rd party sellers often do not make them as the special edition numbers are to small to sell them out.

Sophia Obregon just line to bottom of ear pad up to headphone by uding tge line in the pu leather material as a guide. The adhesive is very strong and will hold, just do not compress until you are happy with positioning.
I’m soooo nervous to do this myself . I have the AHG pads but I’m walking around with ripped pads😒 and I have Solo3 I’m wondering if installation is exactly the same , one small difference and I’ll panic lol
@@leelovegl one more note, when you are sticking the ear pad onto the headphone make sure you are not applying pressure on to the B on back of the headphones. It shows in video you should cup your hands around back of earphone and apply pressure to stick the ear pad. That is the correct way. If you have a wireless headphone model that B is a button and if you put pressure on it it will break.
My beats do not have dowels. I have solo 2 wireless (obviously real ones not bootlegs). There are two dowels however they do not stick out like yours do. please help!!! also, there is no sign of the dowels having been broken/ripped off. they just do not stick out. theyre there, just not sticking out they are flush with the surface.

It should be fine as the adhesive is the same stickiness on both sides. You will have to do the same on the other side with putting 3m side to headphone in order to match the holes. Thanks
Beg to differ replaced mine on a number of times and never had a problem with noise leakage excellent fit if your replacing them properly, so I totally disagree on what your saying, sorry just my true and honest opinion

Thought I'd let anyone know who wants to purchase their pads, that I was charged $10 for shipping and it won't be coming in till the earliest 5 days (but probably 6-7) from order. That's kind of ridiculous. Shipping should only be around half that much for something so small and light and if it is that expensive I should be getting 3 day delivery. If the pads aren't top notch I'll be leaving a one star on amazon.
Jarom Pollister you were charged $10 for shipping by amazon, not me. i offer free international shipping on ebay and my website for all ear pads. i have no control over what amazon charges for shipping, it is their website and their choice. you could be proactive and contact me directly instead of trying to ruin my company name when in reality i dod not charge you anything for shipping.
I did not say that "Accessory House" charged me the shipping but that doesn't really matter because your customers are paying that regardless. All I am doing is informing others that they might have to pay 2/3 the cost of the actual product for shipping. If you are not a Amazon Prime member then Amazon charges shipping at whatever rate they want to. I use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and all my products are stored in the Amazon warehouses across the country. When they are purchased the Amazon workers pack and ship them to the customer. So Amazon provides the service for my products. They charge the shipping, not me. The reason you went out of your way to post on my youtube page was because you were not happy with having to pay $10 for the shipping and I am trying to set the record straight that I have no control over that and Amazon is who is charging that amount. I agree with you that that is way to much to charge but I cannot control it. Also, you said that if you did not like the product you would instantly leave a negative review, which is not fair. I am sure you will like the product, I only have positive reviews for it but if you decide to leave a negative review it seems that that decision is based on the fact that you paid $10 for shipping. Leaving a negative review only affects me, not amazon, but Amazon is who has charged you the silly shipping rate and offered the slow shipping speed. So my business suffers due to Amazon.
My youtube page is for installation videos mainly. I do use Amazon in the US as it is the biggest online sales channel and most people prefer to buy on that rather than eBay. I am happy to make things clearer but if you do not sell on Amazon I guess you may not be aware of how strict they are. You cannot post anything in your Amazon listings that comments on anything but the product you're selling and you are not allowed to mention any other sales channel that is non-Amazon. So there is no way to mention my website or my eBay store. They block e-mail address etc from any messaging they even removed buyers phone numbers from the purchase information page. I can only contact buyers through Amazon e-mail unless they find me online and contact me directly. Amazon has done a good job at making sure the sellers have no other options besides the Amazon one.

Yes, the grey plastic ring has adhesive under it that holds it to the headphones

I used Scotch tape...tape over the adhesive and then yank the tape off. Keep doing it until all the adhesive is gone.

It should be fine as the adhesive is the same stickiness on both sides. You will have to do the same on the other side with putting 3m side to headphone in order to match the holes. Thanks

Thought I'd let anyone know who wants to purchase their pads, that I was charged $10 for shipping and it won't be coming in till the earliest 5 days (but probably 6-7) from order. That's kind of ridiculous. Shipping should only be around half that much for something so small and light and if it is that expensive I should be getting 3 day delivery. If the pads aren't top notch I'll be leaving a one star on amazon.
Jarom Pollister you were charged $10 for shipping by amazon, not me. i offer free international shipping on ebay and my website for all ear pads. i have no control over what amazon charges for shipping, it is their website and their choice. you could be proactive and contact me directly instead of trying to ruin my company name when in reality i dod not charge you anything for shipping.
I did not say that "Accessory House" charged me the shipping but that doesn't really matter because your customers are paying that regardless. All I am doing is informing others that they might have to pay 2/3 the cost of the actual product for shipping. I didn't say your product was shit but if it is, like I said I will be leaving negative feedback, if they are good then hey it may have been worth the wait and cost and I wont mind telling people that either.

If you are not a Amazon Prime member then Amazon charges shipping at whatever rate they want to. I use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and all my products are stored in the Amazon warehouses across the country. When they are purchased the Amazon workers pack and ship them to the customer. So Amazon provides the service for my products. They charge the shipping, not me. The reason you went out of your way to post on my youtube page was because you were not happy with having to pay $10 for the shipping and I am trying to set the record straight that I have no control over that and Amazon is who is charging that amount. I agree with you that that is way to much to charge but I cannot control it. Also, you said that if you did not like the product you would instantly leave a negative review, which is not fair. I am sure you will like the product, I only have positive reviews for it but if you decide to leave a negative review it seems that that decision is based on the fact that you paid $10 for shipping. Leaving a negative review only affects me, not amazon, but Amazon is who has charged you the silly shipping rate and offered the slow shipping speed. So my business suffers due to Amazon.
My youtube page is for installation videos mainly. I do use Amazon in the US as it is the biggest online sales channel and most people prefer to buy on that rather than eBay. I am happy to make things clearer but if you do not sell on Amazon I guess you may not be aware of how strict they are. You cannot post anything in your Amazon listings that comments on anything but the product you're selling and you are not allowed to mention any other sales channel that is non-Amazon. So there is no way to mention my website or my eBay store. They block e-mail address etc from any messaging they even removed buyers phone numbers from the purchase information page. I can only contact buyers through Amazon e-mail unless they find me online and contact me directly. Amazon has done a good job at making sure the sellers have no other options besides the Amazon one.
