    Thank you for inspiring me with this. I did this a few times exactly as you did. But then I wondered if I could eliminate the need for the tart tray and measuring cup. I lined a 9" x 12" baking pan with wax paper and poured in all of the melted wax directly from the jar. The melted wax spreads out to about 1/2" thickness. After cooling for 20 minutes on the countertop, the wax is partially hardened but still soft enough to "score" with a butter knife into 2" squares. Then I place the pan into the freezer for 20 minutes more to fully harden the wax. When it comes out of the freezer, the 2" squares easily break apart where I scored them. I found that I can stack more of the squares into the quart sized wide mouth mason jars than I can when the wax is in the tart shape. And the 1/2" thick 2" squares are the perfect size for my wax melter. Cheers.

    You can also get cheap silicone ice cube trays (lots of designs and shapes if you're into the look of the tart) at the Dollarstore, and the tarts are super easy to pop out when they've cooled. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy your channel!

      +CandleCafe I am so over puny wicks and candles with no scent. If I threw every one of them that I had problems with in the front yard I would look like I had a candle garden!!! You can get the yankee candle scenterpiece warmer. They have easy meltcups that come with pre poured wax in them. So what I do is pop them in the freezer when the throw is gone, toss the wax, clean the container so there's no residual scent, and put in other melts in the cup and pop that in the warmer.

    Hi! Great and informative video!!! You have given me awesome ideas for all the candles that I have and I really love your method and I have to say that this is probably the best method to getting more use out of candles and really releasing the scents of candles properly this is much better than just the conventional burning candles method. Anyway I have a request. Can you please make a video of you doing all of this and going through the whole process of making your B&BW candles into wax melts. I really would love to see how you do that so I can learn and start doing that myself. I’m more of a visual learner so I have to see how you do it before I start to do it myself. That would be really helpful!! Thank you!!!

    I will need to find some trays to do this with my candles.. I've noticed the last few that I've burned, when they get about half way down all I can smell is the wick burning, I hate that, I just want my yummy scent to come through... Thanks so much for the video, very helpful!

  • @tango2u

    Great video and that is a good idea especially with the measuring cup because I would of probably made the same mistake and learned the hard way. Also I am so tired of getting puny wicks from BBW as well as Yankee Candle and the Yankee Candles are not cheap. I love the scent but they get to where they do not want to burn a brand new candle and it just has a very low light on it and I thought something was wrong with the wicks lately on the candles. Good to know instead of throwing my candles away.

      Random question but how do you remove excess wax from your glass cup measuring tool?

    • @Prettypolkadots
      @Prettypolkadots  7 років тому +1

      +Jenn S I use a paper towel to wipe it out while the wax is still warm in it and the put soap and hot water in it to get it cleaned out before it sets. I try to work fast so that won't set up in the cup. If it hardens on there I will probably set it on the warmer to get it to melt again and then use the paper towels again.

    • @jshowal

      Thanks, Brenda. I was too slow my first time but it's melting fast on the warmer

    • @Prettypolkadots
      @Prettypolkadots  7 років тому

      +Jenn S I have been too slow as well. Dried wax is a pain for me. I wasn't paying attention last week when I dropped another cube in melted wax. I dropped an inch or two above the melted wax and of course it went all over my counter. I like to never have gotten that off the counter!! Lesson learned!!

    I love your wax warmer, where did you get it? and what color is it? It's kinda hard to tell. Do you check your wicks before you buy your candles, I'm sure you do, just don't understand why you keep getting pws. lol. So all those bath and body candles your going to melt down? No worries. I was just curious. I definitely love wax melts, but I could never give up burning my candles, because yes I love the ambience. I have ocd too. I feel your pain. It can be very difficult some days, others not so much. Is yours just dealing with like germs and stuff, cuz if that's the case your house must be spotless !! lol. I'm so happy because I just got unlimited data on my phone, so now I can watch even more of you !! Love you Brenda !
