I just pray that they actually make extinction look like the live action trailer for it that was released for ARK Survival Evolved. I want it to look very overgrown with vines and stuff in the city to really give us players that sense of abandonment and post aplocalypse. Extinction and The Centre have always been my all-time favourite maps.
Missed the opportunity to have dirt bikes on Aberration. It doesn't fit the steam punk vibe as well, but damnit, racing a dirt bike through caverns and atop massive branches sounds dope as hell.
To be fair, last year had the whole Hollywood strike and there are some huge actor names in the Animated Series, and we all know they aren't the greatest at prioritizing items, but it would have come eventually

If it was that simple. It would be great if WildCard could separate themselfs from Snail Games and that contract while keeping Ark ip but thats highly unlikely. Snail owns Ark ip until 2035 and i assume it would cost a fortune to buy them out if its even possible because Snail Games revenue is over 90% just from Ark. If Snail Games loses Ark then they go to shit and i dont think they will be willing to do that as long as Ark is alive.
I may be the only one on this but I'm super excited to see the chain reigns, seems like it's gonna be so cool riding around on a velonosaur controlled by metal chains! (Also new rock drake skin looks pretty cool, old favorite dino before rhynio was released)
I wish we could get proper deinonychus on ABB. It would fit in so well with its ability to glide and climb! Love the steam punk vibe and the yi ling actually looks good.

I don’t mind paying for it. My goodness, most of these games are coming out with monthly payment models to play, and Ark has yet to do this. Even back in the day, I had to pay 15 dollars a month to play EverQuest. Sheesh, I don’t mind paying 10 or 20 bucks every once in a while to buy DLC. It keeps the company solvent so they can keep making great content for us.

Cosmetics become controversial when they are introduced in "Micro"transaction form, from what I've seen and how I understand it is that all the skins are included in the expansion. Which is way better than say £5 for each skin set.
Monetized cosmetics aren't a bad thing at all. Every player gets a choice to buy or not. This pack however, doesn't just have cosmetics. It has new items, new vehicles, and a new creature that sounds very powerful. I really hope, for the sake of the average ark player, that Wildcard doesn't allow people to use any of that p2w content on official servers.

I play mainly single player since i have no one to play with so its not an issue for me but if its on official then it would either force players to another server or force them to buy it and im not sure thats a good idea for WildCard, Snail Games or Nitrado.

No-one has played on ASA Scorched Earth for a long time because it's not released yet.. You are forced to download every DLC pack even if you haven't bought it in order to be able to see the content when others use it, you just can't use DLC items if you don't own the DLC.

Not buying it is like hoping that it fails. If you enjoy the game and want to see it survive. Buying stuff like this helps fund the studio and keep it alive

Maybe an actually decent publisher could pick up Wildcard (example Microsoft) and give them the funding and support they deserve to make great Ark content moving forwards. Ark can and has sold well and performed well before. But currently it’s dying and one dlc pack isn’t going to change that. Bigger and more sustained change is needed at this point.

the arks have so many diff characters from different times and areas.. like yeah steampunk works for like.. rockwell, but then no one else. Most of scorched is sorta egyptian themed but there are western characters. Idk, I hope they add more variety or something but maybe im just being too picky or whatever

It might just be a way to survive on the surface. An airship lacks the maneuverability and speed to be useful anywhere else.

I don’t think it fits aberration, I love the steampunk aesthetic and fully support it being added, but aberration is *not* the map for it.
Idk the glider suits felt kinda like steampunk to me, but they definitely could adapt it to be more "ARK-like" like they did with TEK.
