    My father is a rider (since 1987), and has been riding the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 since 2011, and has been to every state. He goes to Ladakh every year with his group, and to various parts of the country. This December, he had covered all the seven North East states, starting from Guwahati and ending at Sikkim, and back to Guwahati. He has also been to Bhutan, Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Nepal, China and currently planning to go Vietnam and Thailand from Guwahati. He has also done a trip from Guwahati to Delhi, then to Kashmir, Ahmedabad, Kanyakumari, and back to Guwahati. His group was also the first to track the Dhola Hodiya Bridge (India's longest river bridge). Every ride was done on Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350, every ride starting from Guwahati and ending back at Guwahati. So yes, I too believe that Royal Enfield motorcycles are the most reliable motorcycles around. I too will purchase one very soon.

    I am from ladakh, u will c there max. Re bikes because it survives there long while other bikes cannot survive too long. It is the only bike that can ride pangong 1000 times.
    I think bro u r not a good rider.

    Brother i own too TB350 and believe me since day one i am continuously driving in hilly areas.
    Around 20K kms have been covered and around 80% of ride was in hilly areas. Whole joshimath,nainital,kumon ,garhwal and high altitude of more than 1200m have been covered but not a single problem occurred to my bullet. As u said that in around 1100kms you need to chnaged your rear break shoe , but for your information i ride arround 5000 km and after than also break shoe dosnt wants change but for my safety i changed it.
    I dount about your driving, not everyone can ride bullet on terrain. I am saying this because its not normal bike similar to 100-200cc giving sudden surge to acceleration will cause damage and vibrate the engine.
    Improve your riding conditions and definitely u wont feel disappointed by owing RE.
    And as its slogans say" its not meant for hurry rides".

    U can take royal Enfield anywhere..i have done ladakh 7 times on my classic 350..and spiti 6 times..also nepal and bhutan once on my classic 350. But bhaiyo akele hi jao high terrain par..bike hai truck nahi ki samaan aur insaan dono ko uthale..also.keep in mind..jaane se pehle clutch plate aur brakes change karwana matlb karwana hi hai chahe kaise b ho..also try to use customised seats with high cushion..mazaa na aye to shauk se bech dena APNI bike.

    I went in 2018 with my 350 Thunderbird I didn't get any problem. even other bike they have taken out Air filter but I didn't. and My rout is Delhi, Dharmshala , Patanitop, Srinagar Kargil, Leh, Khardungla Nubra, Pangong, Changla, TSO KAR, TSO Moriri,Tanglang LA,Pang, Sarchu, Baralacha LA, JISPA, Rothang Pass, Manali, Delhi. even I dint have single puncture. I dont know what happen with you? But dont mis guide

    I had the same problem with my TB350.... Complaints every month.....no power...no brakes..no handling......sold it for a fair price......now ringing FZ25........riding happily

    i have also Thunderbird 350 and me 2 bar ladakh kar chuka hu from siliguri west bengal . mereko to aisa kuch vi problems nehi hua trust me . aapka bike me clutch plate pressure plate clutch adjustment ka kuch issue ho sakta hai . ha highest mountains and bad roads sab gari ko charne me problems hota hai . humlog ke sath ek xuv 500 geya tha jisko vi problems hua ...... highest mountains me oxygen ki kami ke Karan sab vehicles ko problems hota hai . maine ladakh ke time k&n air filter use kiya usse air pressure badta hai . mereko aisa kuch khas problems nehi hua

      Humlog rally Kia tha Bhutan and Nepal with double load . But we had no problems.mujhey Lagta hai appka bike me Kuch problem hai .

      ha... most probably the issue with the revving was due to a faulty electric system and the climbing issue is because the person was trying to climb at full rpm.. climbs need to be done at a lower gear and lower RPM. I have completed Ladakh without any issue.

    I OWN TBX 350 BS IV. A LITTLE BIT UNDER POWERED. SPEED BETTER TO KEEP WITHIN 100 KMPS IN HIGHWAYS (iN PLAIN LANDS). I THINK YOU HAVE SOME PROBLEMS IN YOUR BIKE. IN HILLY AREAS I KNOW (WHAT I DO ALSO) FRONT BRAKES ARE USED WITH ENGINE BREAKING WHAT I ALWAYS DO. I DONT THINK SO MANY PROBLEMS ARE THERE IN TBX 350 THAT IT CAN'T BE USED IN LADAKH RIDING. I AM PLANNING TO GO TO LADAKH IN NEXT JULY 2022. LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

    A free advice,
    Never go to a very long drive with a pillon rider as it will be a very uncomfortable and torcher for him or her.
    Pillon rider gets no scope of adjusting and changing the sitting position and most of the time they can even move.
    More over Its not limited to RE, I have seen all types of expensive bikes and cars failing on the road.
    If bike or cars clutch plate is worn off then it's only riders riding habit.
    One more free advice...
    Do not go beyond 100, No matter what bike you have whether it has ABS or EBD instant break will lead skid and fall.

      I completely agree with you
      I have got my TB 350 in mid of 2018
      Till mid of 2019 I made numerous rides in Upper Sikkim
      I did around 35000 KM in high altitude and another 20000 km in plain area
      Till now I have no such issues with my TB clutch plates
      All depends upon the rider only

    Actually if you are going to ladhak with pillion it's not a good idea to take 350,because of luggage & kerb weight it becomes underpower,

    Did you modify your carburettor before climbing? Because carburettor bike needs a pin in the jet of the carburettor because of the altitude the air becomes less and petrol goes in too much ..which causes bad fuel - air mixture

    I am also facing the same issue with my classic 350. The bike runs but the power I get is about 50% of which I should get. It happens randomly, but when it happens the bike tops out at 80kmph in the fifth gear. In the lower gears the bikes kinda making brr brrrr sound( similar to the sound when we run out of fuel). Is it something related to the carburettor or the clutch plate?

      Exactly, mere paas RE 350 classic hai. Aur hilly area me carburetor ko set karna padta hai. Fir wo acceleration time pe problem nai karti.

    I have done Ladakh on my TB a couple of times. Not just Ladakh but i have done entire journey from Rajasthan, Karnataka, Shilong, Bengal n few more along with Tollfree traveller and my experiences are good with Royal Enfield so far. It has been 8yrs now i own this Bike and even after 65k KM its still rocking. Plenty of travellers use royal enfield to climb Khardungla through out the year and i feel there are plenty successful. You may see broken down enfields more due to their massive population and bad riding techniques. I am not defending Enfields but sharing my experiences. Clutch plates and falls are riders mistakes on how well they ride nothing to do with the bikes.

    Well done with the vlog bhai..!
    My general observation regarding your bad experience -
    1. The guy who serviced your bike left the rear break too tight because of which your bike didn't pick speed on highway... I'm sure the 350 can pull till 130kmph with some effort...
    2. When you started using your skill at Zozilla with full throttle, this is the point where you started frying your clutch-plates...
    2. Khardungla is where the bike gave up due to burnt clutch..!
    All in all maybe your bike was overburdened with luggage and pillion but I think the service centre guy did the terrible job with your bike..! That badly fit rear break kept a high stress on your engine throughout the trip, other than this there is no way the break shoe could wear out at 1000 kms..!
    I'm still happy you guys made it home safe..!

    Please remember whenever you go to high altitude remove the air filter you will never face this loss of power problem on any RE 350. I been Leh many times on TB350 AVL and TB 500.

    Very disappointing video, as all the points you have tried to establish are very weak. Let me answer,
    1. You are riding with pillion, and you are comparing your bike with other "chhota mota" bikes, which are riding alone. You should put the correct perspective.
    2. Being a long stroke bike, even a 350 cc engine can give decent amount of torque at LOW END..let me repeat, at LOW END. It seems you do not know how to handle your bike. Maybe next time you can use heavy duty clutch plates for hill ascent.
    3. A 350 cc long stroke bike is never meant for high speed, it is built for torque. In the highways, you push it beyond 100 Kph, NOT a good idea for its health. It is important to know the limit of your bike. Harley street 750 has a top speed of 170 Kph, no match for a Kawasaki Ninja 650, which can effortlessly cross 200 Kph. More cc does not mean more speed. You may have damaged your bike on your approach to Ladakh.
    4. Another point that proves your wrong driving is your burnt clutch. Do not put this on your bike.
    5. "Most of the broken down bikes are RE"..another very lame point..the reason being most of bikes in Ladakh are REs.
    6. At high altitude, having a carburetor gives you the flexibility of tuning it. You should have made the mix lean. All you need is a screw driver!!..
    7. On both the places that you fell, it seems you stalled. It happens if you are applying your clutch more. Clutch will make sure you lose your momentum. On ascent, you are bound to fall.

      Enfield fanboy spotted...just accept that these bikes are terrible...I mean come on...350cc produces same horse power as Yamaha r15v3 lol which is 155cc and less weight bike... Virtually any bike is good there except re

      Right on point.
      And yes most of the bikes which you can see is RE in Leh Ladakh.
      It depends on riding as well. Just one bike giving you trouble doesn’t make the company as bad or worst.
      Yet there are some flaws with RE but judging just with few cases doesn’t make any sense.

    I couldn't see the whole video but I saw your brake comment. This is what happens when you're riding in mountains..
    You need to use gear braking instead of complete rear brakes. Why? Becauseany bike whether drum or disc brakes will go through braking issue in descent. Understand the physics behind it. Be it africa twin or tiger or bullet or a scooter. Gear braking is the only thing that will help you in slowing down

    This is why i do not advice anyone for buying RE... But but but lagta hai carb tuning nahi karvai aapne.
    Now clutch plate was damaged because of excess cluth use because your bike was underpowered because carb was not tuned for high altitude.

    Bhai utna luggage aur pillion baita hai isiliye aisa huva utna luggage bi hai aur pillion be baita hai 200 +100 =300 kg hogaya classic Hotha tho koshish karke nikal thatha thunder bird jarahatha par apne break mara squid hogha ya duke be ghira 😯😯 thunder bird is a good bike royal enfield ek old Acha india ki company ride safe 😊

      yes, you can cruise 90-100 easily on avenger 220. just make sure you use motul fully synthetic oil instead of bajaj oil

    I too have Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350. I touched top speed of 120-123 km/h on Delhi Chandigarh highway. I had been to Rothang Pass vaiya Chandigarh, Shimla & Manali and return to Delhi with average milage of 37km/ltr. It was 1600 round trip and and no Break bush issue and no Clutch plate issue.

    RE TB 350 worst choice even I had same fault and issue within 3 months of purchase. Rear disc and break pad was replaced twice. It's engineering failure from RE. Now I preferred my new Honda unicorn 150 much better the RE in every expect. RE waste of money &. Time.

    Don't have love for dominar but one thing i support of them about royal Enfield-hathi mat palo...super bakwas bike...I have three bikes in garage gixxer ktm and fz. These bikes u can ride where ever u want.

    If a dominar doesn't pull on inclines and eats up its break pads in 1000 or 1200 kms, then will you check why the break is partially engaged or will you start cursing Bajaj.

    After I owned RE thunderbird 350 I'm becoming mechanic! When ever rainy days ago the Rust cover the metal! BUT YOU CAN'T NEVER REPLACE THE COMFORT OF ROYAL ENFIELD! I'm not happy unless I'm riding my bike. :)

    Carburetted bikes can not survive high altitude so is the RE 350. One must choose a Fuel injected bike. If someone is Royal Enfield fan, he must go for classic 500, TB 500 or Himalayan.

    Problems you faced were
    1. Loss of power while climbing
    2. More raise even while idle in gear,
    3. Acting out even on plains
    All of it points out that you had the clutch plate problem since the beginning.
    The reason the bike was shutting off could be the clutch plates overheating.
    An experienced rider may have noticed this thing way before and since you were taking short rides on straight roads you may have skipped it, but when you took that bike with worn out clutch plate to Leh kind of place , then it was definitely going to fail that too with two people and luggage.
    Vibration is there and that is quite irritating most of the time and i agree to it.
    The RE service guys are not going to check your clutch plates without literally opening them up and checking plate by plate. They simply replace the oil filters and clean the spark plug etc. Unless you tell them specifically to check something in particular.
    Also i never go to these showrooms. Always have a local mechanic see it as then you will be able to see for yourself and the parts would be lot cheaper.
    The brake wear n tear is there in laddakh for bullet so that is totally fine if it wears out in 1100 kms , mine went out in 3500 kms which included laddakh and spiti combined. So i would also say that it totally depends how you drive as well. Even if you are pressing the brake halfway , the brakes are still wearing out.
    I wouldn't stereotyped the whole model because you couldn't keep your bike maintained . Also yes that most bikes which get broke down is RE in Leh because 9 of 10 people takes RE there ,

    Thanks bro for sharing true feedback...my manager owned a bullet 500 and he mentioned its better to buy a used car instead of a bullet due to maintenance issues , very unreliable bike...I wonder why RE is not upgrading their technology on their bikes , MFG process . All RE fans out there ... I know it’s a status symbol and sentiment s,emotions associated with it ... but any company has to innovate and address the issues in their next versions.... but nothing changes with RE bikes.... otherwise they(the company) are not going to survive in the long run.

    The pickup problem in 350 CC is only because of doubling. Bike leaves the motion during uphill.
