Thanks Andrew. Another great video. I love Ego products and I would definitely love to add this machine to my collection. You are definitely and Ego fan like I am. Does it have to side discharge, or can that piece come off for it the mulch the grass? Do the blades need to be different for mulching from what it comes with?
Twice as much as the gas riding mower. Will it last twice as long? I love EGO but I'm on my 3rd push mower. I have to replace them about every 2 years. Now the batteries don't seem to be lasting as long either.
I'd love to watch a video of this thing climbing hills / slopes of different grades. Buying a tractor, instead of a zero turn, is often going to be due to the fact that zero turns are very bad on steep slopes. That said, would love to see if this thing can muscle up to the steeper slopes.
I had the E-Steer for about three weeks and returned it to Lowes -- mainly because the charger wasn't rated for outdoor use. But I also wasn't particularly impressed with the gauge of steel used in the deck and blades. Other than that it was a quality unit (I couldn't believe how well built and comfortable the seat was). I'm wondering why Ego doesn't offer a 6x10AH or 6x12AH battery configuration for the T6 (for folks with more grass to mow). Also wondering whether there's any traction control with the T6 rear-wheel drive (guessing not). The E-Steer wasn't very good in this department -- I quickly got it stuck on some 15 deg hillsides (and thankfully I still had a Cub with a locking diff to pull it back up the hill).
Where’s the video for the bagger attachment should they make such? How does this work with pulling a small trailer? One last item, best way to take the blades off to sharpen or change them out? Saw one video where they were showing the underneath of the mower by tipping it backwards and wondering if this could be an easier method to access the blades for maintenance. Thank you for the video! Nice video for the NEW T6 Lawn Tractor and features of the mower itself!!
They should offer a few different price tiers with different batteries. I would pay more for 7.5, 10, or 12Ah batteries!! I’m sure people would love to pay less if they even offered 5Ah batteries and could only cut 1 acre.
I’m definitely sold on the ego riding mower once my gas one finally dies, it is on its last leg and the only way it’s made it this long is tinkering with it on a monthly basis😂. But the hardest part of buying one of these is deciding if I want a t6 or the z6
If that will make you feel better (it probably won't ;)), this thing is about 1,5 times that much in Europe. Tractor only... With 6 batteries like shown here it's over 8k Euros, I'd say.
I have me one of these and love it. I was kind of sceptical because i usually do research before purchases like this but there wasnt any reviews out. But hey, it's an ego. Couldn't be happier just like all my other ego stuff.
This one looks nice! I got use gas powered one for $200 but I could use it only once. Send to small engine mechanic, but they couldn't fix it. I already have EGO snow blower and pushing mower, so It would be nice to have it when I start to feel pushing mower takes too much.
How well dies it handle debris buildup on the mowing deck? My gas powered mower (with spindles) isn’t effected by some debris , like grass cuttings/leaves that get caught up around the spindles.
This si the most interesting electric tractor so far. Saw a write up mention arm rests accessory but none on their site yet, that would be a nice add on. Curious how it would do in tall grass and in a mulching setup. Being able to charge all the batteries at once is also excellent.
I've got an ego 42" zero turn...mowed 27hrs & it started acting up, randomly stops the drive function. Something wrong with lcd or wiring. Ego sent a company to pick it up for repair, waiting on return. Approximately 11 days to get it back. I'm just glad they take care of it under warranty for 5 years. I like electric, it is quiet, no maintenance...just plug it in & go & sharpen blades like any. Its fast too, doesn't require full throttle noise like gas. Because I'm running renewable energy I will not have any expenses associated with it until I need batteries.
This is the scary part of these new electric tractors. I can't go weeks without a lawn tractor and I have been able to do all repairs in 1 day on my JD for 30 years.
Love your enthusiasm. Since it's just as easy as putting it on a credit card...I have a deal... Instead of buying me one of these on YOUR credit card.. how about just the POWER+ 22” Aluminum Deck Select Cut™ Self-Propelled Lawn Mower with 10.0Ah Battery and 700W Charger? Way cheaper and your spouse will probably won't even know. Pretty please!??!? 😂
So I just traded my Z6 Zero Turn for a T6. The mower is great for what I need however there is a lot of “play” in the steering wheel making an awful clacking noise. I was wondering if it was assembled incorrectly or missing a bushing or something. Also, I can slightly “lift up” on the steering wheel and hear the same metal clanking noise. All bolts appear to be tightened. Does your mower make this noise and can also feel it in the steering, especially on bumpy lawns. And before anyone asks, it’s not the deck that has its own acceptable noises. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Lowe's doesn't service EGO equipment, even with their extended warranty. Had to drive 45 minutes to a Northern Hydraulics service center and pay for a service diagnostic fee. I agree with battery life vs. gas engine life comments. It’s like Keurig - they could give you the coffee maker and make all their money on sales of the pods. Likewise, EGO is going to be making most of their money on battery replacements soon enough.
You didn't show the one thing that i was looking for, how it sounds cutting the gras, instead you put music over the part where you are using it to cut it
For that kind of money, you don’t get a cast-iron front axle as someone who has broken one of those pressed ones that is a must on any lawn tractor, especially if your yard is rough
You won't replace the batteries every year :D I believe it can last easely 5 to 10 years. Gas mower you should also count all the maintenance cost, gas and oil...
Too dang expensive, I'll stay with my Snapper 17hp gas Zero Turn and not worry about charing the batteries. As for my 1 1/2 acer lawn it took about $2 of gas....
I would way rather have a gas mower by craftsman or anyothwt brand because they can mow more then 1.5 acres and don’t take 5 hours to charge or something like that I don’t mind the noise especially if you are in a more rural area but if your like in a hoa area or middle of town I could see people using this but it’s probably cheaper to buy a gas one and they are not hard to maintain change the oil once every like 2-3 months and fill it up with gas and you are pretty much good unless u strip a belt but those things aren’t all super common but having to wait however long to mow your yard or if your battery dies from it sitting to long and you have to buy a new one is kind of ridiculous if you ask me
It's a cool concept and would work well for small yards and places that may have a noise ordinance, however in the long run it's not very practical. The biggest flaw with the design that I see is the mower deck spindles. If you were to run over something that you may not see and damage the motors that would be a very expensive fix along with the wires that are hanging that power the deck could be easily destroyed if something were to catch on them.
Professionals need to likely go all day. Doesn't work for them to wait for batteries to charge. Professionals also buy more, so lower costs are a bigger deal. Not as big of a deal for a residential mower when you're only getting one. They're also much better equipped to deal with the maintenance challenges, I am sure.
Half the benefit of an electric mower is the reduction in noise.... but we couldn't hear the noise because you just blasted music over the cutting portion of the video.
My aunt bought one just a few weeks ago, she will be returning it this weekend. It only run 20 minutes on a full charge with the blades at full speed. Doesn't mow well if you slow the blades down. 20 Minutes is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!! How could you mow an acre and a half in 20 minutes???
@@Kitearmy Generally your home-center decks like this are stamped with one homogeneous sheet of relatively thin metal. They then use cheap paint instead of a real powder coat and when it chips underneath and you don't painstakingly keep repainting it these decks take no time to rust through. Only a level of care that almost nobody is willing to give will make these decks last. However, you can go to real dealerships and you will find fabricated decks that are literally many pieces of thick steel welded together and powder coated. This makes them VERY tough and long lasting. If you think about it, it's the hardest working piece of the entire equipment, it should NOT be the cheapest!
@@Kitearmy to answer your question more directly though, I run the entry level model zero-turn Gravely offers. It has none of the bells and whistles of the commercial mowers they offer but all the reliability and longevity at a got-what-I-paid-for price. It's perfect for my relatively flat half-acre and unless I horribly abuse it I'll probably still be running it in 20 years
Im not ready to spend $5 G on a machine that cuts grass for 40 minutes. Then wait until batteries charge? That not what I call convenience. Batteries and electricity are expensive.
Tech is still a little early, has reliability issues and replacement batteries are $1500 for 6 of them - Yikes!!! Electric tractors are like electric cars you do not buy them to save money.
Its 4k. And the batteries are 260 each x 6 that come with it. So the tractor actually costs the equivalent of 2400-2500 bucks. Imagine adding the gas cost of the mower all up front. Its not actually a bad deal at all. And the more you expand on the platform, the more it all makes it cost effective and long-term. Plus you can start buying bare tools once you get a comfortable amount of batteries, saving even more on cost.
@@marcusmobley5411 Yes, this tractor is expensive and one wonders how many years before you must replace the degraded or dead batteries? Is it 5, 7, 10 years? The battery cost should come down over time, but it's a costly tractor with unknown upkeep costs. My JD lawn tractor uses about 30 gallons of gas per season so that's about $100 and then I change the oil + filter every 3 years for another $20. My JD tractors have had near-zero mechanical issues for 30 years.
I wanna see it bag and more cutting not once along your fence and then sped up front Are they paying you cause it’s pretty brazen of you to say don’t worry about price just put it on credit card that’s really terrible to suggest to people with this economy
what is the deal with these ridiculously priced electric lawn mowers? a gas mower will literally last for 20 year if you keep up with the maintenance. there is no way the batteries will go even 5 years without some measurable degradation.
I can help you - no noise, no maintenance, no messing around with gas or oil, no fumes, always starts. But some people don't car about that. All I can say is that I have owned both, and I'm never going back.
Why do people who don't know what they are talking about comment and tell the world they don't know what they are talking about. 7 years with my ego equipment and I am just now replacing batteries. If I had not used my equipment on my sons yards, my dad's yard and friends yards along with the church's lawn, I probably would be using those same batteries for years to come. Btw, ego warrants the batteries for three years. If they fail, ego will make it right. I know, I had one fail prematurely. Great customer service experience.

06:49 We want to hear the noise of the mower not the music.
For that kind of money, you don’t get a cast-iron front axle as someone who has broken one of those pressed ones that is a must on any lawn tractor, especially if your yard is rough
Thank you for this comment. I'm on very uneven clay and it is hell to mow by hand. Hadn't thought about how that'd translate to a tractor.
The cost to replace those batteries is just scary.
Getting cheaper every year
@@KitearmyIt needs to get dramatically cheaper since currently the six 6Ah batteries cost $1500 - that's the price of a gas tractor.
You won't replace the batteries every year :D I believe it can last easely 5 to 10 years. Gas mower you should also count all the maintenance cost, gas and oil...
Two years max on these batteries, it will be loads of fun when the batteries all get the blinking red lights
Ive owned ego for 5 years and i do landscaping on a professional level and havnt had a single red light
I just went from ego back to gas. My lawn needs the power of combustion 😂😂😂
If they add a snow blower attachment i am sold. I use my gas powered husqvarna for grass and snow removal.
I believe they are coming
$5000 hurts…but no oil or gas or motor or belt is a huuuge plus.
$4000 bucks is the cost - hurts less :)
It's $4000.00 at Lowes for the kit. I guess when you add in taxes though, it'll start to creep up to $5000.00
@@Alex_in_Pisgah Yeah - true that tax man wants his cut :(
@@Alex_in_Pisgah I would get my military discount tho!
Too dang expensive, I'll stay with my Snapper 17hp gas Zero Turn and not worry about charing the batteries. As for my 1 1/2 acer lawn it took about $2 of gas....
True - but lets talk about the cost of maintenance and the time that it takes
Constant trips for gas, oil, repairs along with expenses for said things add up quickly. Less headaches & issues with electric.
Im disappointed with my ryobie 100ah riding mower. Batteries are very heavy and last about a year.
these batteries are interchangable - and are not specialized
Why you guys so against gas when most professionals use it when they have the option.
Thanks
At these prices the government will never get everyone on electric.
Got to keep Russia happy - stay with oil
My aunt bought one just a few weeks ago, she will be returning it this weekend. It only run 20 minutes on a full charge with the blades at full speed. Doesn't mow well if you slow the blades down. 20 Minutes is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!! How could you mow an acre and a half in 20 minutes???
That makes no sense - mine runs for about 1.5 hours on high speed.
Maybe she bought a Ryobi
See she probably bought the cheapest option. The mower has option for 6 batteries she probably bought only 2.
@@dkdanis1340 Nope 6, 6 amp batteries!
I hate the cheap stamped "home-center" deck that will rust out on the first battery charge here in the south 😮💨
what kind of mower decks do you use?
It's perfect for my relatively flat half-acre and unless I horribly abuse it I'll probably still be running it in 20 years
@@austinpatrick2682 The EGO ZTR 52" is a steel fabricated deck - but you pay for it
Im not ready to spend $5 G on a machine that cuts grass for 40 minutes.
Takes u 40 to cut ur grass?
So which is more expensive gasoline or batteries???

stamped deck , not welded . no pto for snow blower , no bagger
bagger is avaialbe - other products coming soon
woulda been nice to hear the actual sound of the mower instead of that phagnoise
6amp batteries nope… need the big guys
Yeah - i wonder why this included the 6ah - maybe to keep down the cost
I wanna see it bag and more cutting not once along your fence and then sped up front
Are they paying you cause it’s pretty brazen of you to say don’t worry about price just put it on credit card that’s really terrible to suggest to people with this economy
I was joking - I hope that all people budget appropriately for a purchase like this.
Lmao 4k 😂
what is the deal with these ridiculously priced electric lawn mowers? a gas mower will literally last for 20 year if you keep up with the maintenance. there is no way the batteries will go even 5 years without some measurable degradation.
I can help you - no noise, no maintenance, no messing around with gas or oil, no fumes, always starts. But some people don't car about that. All I can say is that I have owned both, and I'm never going back.
@@Kitearmy not having to deal with the noise and gas is not worth 2k over a comparable gas mower
I plan on buying it and as a mechanic I hate working on my own stuff.
@@kpath74 If repairing and f-ing around all day with a gas tool is your thing - I get it. But if you have other things going on......
Just ordered one. I now have electric trimmer, hand mower, tractor and full EV car.
You can probably guess I’m never going back to gas either.
$4,000 for 1.5
Making avoidance of warranty claims and leaving broken down Chinese junk great again...
Those batteries are only going to last ~3 years before they are diminished and annoying to use
Right about time your gas mower will require engine service. That's damn annoying.
