It breaks me down to tears how much I love these guys and how they went to Philadelphia to work with Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff. Those records they produced felt like somebody cared about me...ALL of them.
That’s because Motown wouldn’t let the Jacksons write and produce their own music. So the Jacksons (except Jermaine) jumped ship and went to CBS…signed with Epic and everything just took off from there.
It's 2022, we've had a few crap years. I've been listening to Michael Jackson since I was15, I brought my 8 kids up listening to him, now... my grandkids listen to him. He's here forever xx
Has anyone else noticed that Michael's singing can uplift so many musical styles to shine through. Whether it's the Motown machine, Quincy Jones, Rod Temperton, Gamble & Huff or his own compositions he adds such a dynamic touch to whatever he sings. What a gifted voice. Oh yeah, he could perform pretty good too. I bet his songs such as this will still be enjoyed 50 years from now.
This is perhaps the smoothest song they've ever made, the Jackson-Philly connection worked magically. Forget the record sells. This brought the Jacksons into adulthood and also one of the sweetest songs to dance to during the Disco area. Thanks for posting!
I totally agree this was the first album I brought by then. What a classic the songs were more mature sounding Michael killed this live he was really into the song and the message
My favorite Jacksons song. Whenever I would hear this on the radio, I would sit by the speakers to hear my beautiful Michael sing. Great work on this classic.
Man this song will be in my head. I'm glad I like the 70s. I wonder if there is teens like me who stick to retro. Thx for the song. R.I.P Michael Jackson.
1976/1977. I was a teen back then. Almost 60 now. Such grest times, great memories.!! Girls-girls-girls.!! Thanks Michael, for giving the world so much joy, and wonderful songs.! RIP KING.
All the brothers singing together. Back in the days 70's music. How can anyone ever forget. Great memories with this one. Long live the Jackson 5....! Peace ✌ my peoples.
The Jacksons are a true child of Motown! They made the Soul movement proud with classics like this! Follow me My Friend! They showed me the way to go! Way to go, Michael!
It’s the class of 76’ and the legendary Jackson brothers minus Jermaine who decided to stay at Motown with their first album for Philly international records. The single show you the way to go “ is a tremendous mid tempo classic that has withstood the passage of time and Michael Jackson’s soulfully maturing voice does this record great justice. Listen and enjoy this soul gem 💎 on a wonderful extended remix!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💎💎💎💎💎💎💎👍👍❇️❇️❇️❇️👑👑👑👑🌍🎵☝️✌️🥁💵♥️♥️🎹🌙☀️✨🌈🌈💰💰💰💰🔥🔥🔥🔥🎤🎤🎤🎤💡💡💡💡🎉🎉👑👑👑👍💎🎤💰
This was me n the one I was with in Binghamton for 11 years until she passed away. Heard this song in Bloomingdale's Outlet in Center City Philadelphia less than a month ago. It struck an authentic chord with me 😳 !
This was an awesome hit when it came out!!!!!!, Super smooth!!!!!, Jackson five at their best!!!!!!, thank you DJ CAT!!!!!, for this music presentation!!!!🎯🎯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍😜😎🕺🏻
Everything about the cover designs, the pressings of the labels and its wordings for the tracks and titles , the credits and the music created on this is simply superb... in every way. I see it and its EPIC Xx
this was a great vocal by Micheal he sung this song tremendously and this was the best song and album they every made it was nice and smooth and you could dance to this song very very gracefully
This was the evolution of The Jacksons as a group and performers. This song was possibly targeted for the easy listening audience that were possibly huge Carpenters fans, but staying true to their fanbase. It's a slept on gem from this group.
A great remix of such a smooth song! This song has always had the Gamble-Huff production sound. Imagine, if you could, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes recording this song with Teddy P doing those MJ lead vocals!! I’d pay to hear that! Thx for yet another great remix!!!
My favorite Jacksons song, and any song that Michael ever participated in, and this is perhaps the most beautiful Gamble and Huff production that I have ever heard, and that says a lot. I've heard this high quality mix many times in the past few years and it never gets old.
You did an awesome job there DJDiscoCatV2! I have to say what perfect timing because on Saturday August 29, 2020 it would have Michael Jackson's birthday. He would have turned 62 years old. RIP Michael Jackson. You will be miss for sure!
I don't know everything but there are some things that I do now things that I've heard and read about that we can come together and think like one come together and we can be underneath the please please just let me show you please just let me show you which way to go. Come on then we tell you which way to go just put your trust in me and I'll try not to let you down we can actually help each other overcome we can do it we can do it now. Jackson's and DJ disco 🐈 cat.. let me just show you where to go.great groove I love this song. You. Will to mix very nice.
Another reason it went to #1 in the UK was that it was a very Philly-soul sounding song which was peaking in popularity in the country at the time. On the flip side it may have been the very reason for its lackluster US chart performance since the classic Philly sound was fading from popularity on the US Hot 100.
Beautiful, Smooth and Discolicious ! The original & instrumental mixed like this is how it should have sounded in the 70,s. I remember dancing to an extended version when I entered my first really big gay club called Le Chic, in its original concept until the 80s when it was closed down cos the 3 guys who owned it had a falling out I think. A few years later & after major alterations it was reborn as Le Chic - Part Two, before dropping the Le Chic & rebranding again just as Part Two. I remember one hell of a night Divine entered the club sat on the top of a white Rolls Royce singing Shoot Your Shot & the club erupted with cheers especially as it had not been a publicised PA. After Divine had left Part Two after a good 30 mins of catterwailing his stuff the DJ stopped the music brought up the lights and said OK Now let's have some real Disco shall we & the place went wild as he played the Jacksons Show You The Way followed by great 70s Disco music for 2 hours until close. It was an amazing night I'll never forget from nearly 40 years ago when I was in my early 20s. Disco has lived with me all my gay life from15 to now at 64 & I think even if I get Dementia Disco will always be with me. So Cat once again I thankyou for making the memories flood back, I just wish my aching arthritic limbs would dance the way they used to. I lay in my bed ear phones in listening to this and all your remixes I've collected and smile with happy tears in my eyes again today. My Aunt Edna's funeral was earlier today so maybe some of my tears are for her passing too, I know they're happy tears though. Stay safe & keep doing what you do best. Cheers Clive.
Always been one of my favorites but I don’t know what the hell that fluffy ass interlude was all about starting around the 510 mark. Great production team as well Leon and Kenny!!!
Wow ... this brings back memories. I remember when they left Motown and they became the Jacksons. It was mostly the same group minus Jermaine. Motown felt that they got the best of the deal by keeping Jermaine who they thought had the best future. One of the big reasons the guys left Motown was for more artistic freedom. They wanted to be able to write and be part of the studio production team which Motown would not let them do. Credit Gamble and Huff with showing them the ropes. Michael was especially happy to learn how to compose songs and work the studio gear. And the rest is history. They did not have a bunch of big monster hits during their time in Philly but the music was decent and did ok on the charts. It was taking time for their fans to get used to a more mature modern sounding Jacksons. Going back and listening to the albums it's easy to see how listenable the albums are. Their Motown stuff was more like a collection of singles whereas their Philly stuff was more of an album concept. Mike also got to do some new things with his vocal styling and even further developed his dance styles.
That’s exactly what I said about the Jacksons. Basically, the albums that the Jacksons put out at Epic Records were simply a stepping stone for Michael. Michael started working on “Off The Wall” right after “Destiny” and from acting in “The Wiz”.
This mix REALLY IS something special !!!!!. STILL remember when it was a UK number 1. Fantastic work !!!!. Be interesting to hear what you do with their " Heartbreak Hotel " too. Much luv to ya....
I did not know until today that MFSB did most of the music for this album. NO wonder.....I find it soulful, jazzy and pleasant to my ear. Love their bass sound. I have this album on CD. Love Show the Way to Go, Style of LIfe, Good Times and Blues Away. Enjoy Yourself to me was not a good song for a single, but it did sell.
Once Upon A Time Long Long Ago. There Was A thing Called Great Music, And It Sounded Something Like This....
100 percent!
Not fking rong buddy your perfectly right 👌
2022 🎶
It WAS this 💔💔💔

An awesome memory from my childhood. This song always took me to a beautiful place,it still does.I will always love and miss you Michael..❤
Agree 😊 RIP Michael 😊 Michael was like a friend we all wanted around & talented was so cute with his moves. 😊
This song and "Butterflies"
It breaks me down to tears how much I love these guys and how they went to Philadelphia to work with Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff.
Those records they produced felt like somebody cared about me...ALL of them.
That’s because Motown wouldn’t let the Jacksons write and produce their own music. So the Jacksons (except Jermaine) jumped ship and went to CBS…signed with Epic and everything just took off from there.
48 lost souls did not get the gist of this mini-masterpiece.
I would guess this must be one of their truly exceptional recordimgs.
Smooth like butter.
It's 2022, we've had a few crap years.

10 minutes and 13 seconds of pure bliss!😊😊😊😊😊
The ending made me teary eyed😢 We miss you Michael R.I.P.
At 17 teen I would dance with a partner the full song , the hassle. We had a blast and never got tired.
One of The Jacksons' best tunes. One of Gamble & Huff's best tunes. Great mix! (That's all I came to say...)
One of the proudest moments in my life is, finally, having that album on vinyl.
What a classic the songs were more mature sounding
Michael killed this live he was really into the song and the message
This song actually sold well too. Especially in the UK lol
My favorite Jacksons song. Whenever I would hear this on the radio, I would sit by the speakers to hear my beautiful Michael sing. Great work on this classic.

10mins and 13secs of pure Bliss. Reminds me of my childhood in the summertime. Those brothers, were so, so good. Especially Michael.
1976/1977. I was a teen back then. Almost 60 now. Such grest times, great memories.!! Girls-girls-girls.!!

I couldn't have said it any better a long long time ago it's something called great music and this was one of them
One of their best songs. Shame it wasn’t a bigger hit. Nice extension!
Love the dance moves they perform during the bridge of this song and Randy on the congas, Tito on guitar MJ throwing his head back after a spin
.....another Gamble and Huff production...can’t go wrong with that!
The Jacksons are a true child of Motown! They made the Soul movement proud with classics like this! Follow me My Friend! They showed me the way to go! Way to go, Michael!
This song is telling you the truth what's going on in 2020 now Michael always have been the leader So I'm still following you.
