This is incredible, I'm glad I found this! I did read your comment but I really don't see much of chopin in there, maybe closer to rachmaninoff, but it really doesn't matter in the end, does it? Still beautiful either way. Best Regards, Raphail
@@raphailhess Thank you for your kind complimemt :). Musicality can always be subjective, hence everyone feels different about various pieces. I also thought Rachmaninoff too, but I paid attention to Moszkowski’s nationality; Poland. Also, Moszkowski composed a lot of pieces for “Salon”. The way he got famous (afaik), is due to his salon pieces, which was quite similar to Chopin. However, you’re correct; It doesn’t matter in the end :). I’m just glad you enjoyed my recording (which lacks in many ways). Please remember to subscribe, too! I also wonder where you’ve gotten the Rachmaninoff Impressions, please feel free to reply :)
@@chanyeongkimpianoLet me start off with saying that I have now also listend to other performances, and I can tell you that your performance isn’t lacking in any way. We always want to make the piece sound like we hear it in our head (which is impossible) so we are always a bit disappointed with the end result, I understand you! Their upcoming is quite similar yes, btw I haven’t known of this composer until now, but i cant see Chopin writing such chord progressions especially at the end. It’s more Rachmaninoff’s and Tschaikowski’s style of playing. At 3:25 it looks very inspired by rach 2 mvt 2. I can even imagine if you would’ve played the bass with more power at some points it would come even closer to Rachmaninoff’s style. Also if Chopin had written this he would have parts so difficult you’d want to stick a screwdriver through your head. And when it comes to emotions Chopin never makes me feel like this, for me it’s closer to Rachmaninoff’s romantic taste. But let me get back to one thing, give yourself some more time, even if you aren’t happy with how it sounds right now I am sure you will find a way to get the feeling you are searching for. It doesn’t matter if it’s different than what the score tells you. I always try to play my pieces with what my emotions want me to do and not the score. Remember you are not Moszkowski, you are you and you learned this piece for hours because you could feel it in your heart so see it as your own piece and play it as it were your piece and you will find the magic. @@sakuriyinn based on what ive heard, rachmaninoff poured his entire innovative vision, strength, heart, passion, skill, and the full gorgeosity of his artistry into his piano concerto no. 2, maybe more than any other work. with that in mind, my choice would be rach 2. rach 3 also has some of the most beautifully fragmented, broken phrases ive ever heard. have you listened to his tone poem the isle of the dead?
