I only started listening to Bloke last year, but it's already my favourite footy pod! I love the banter between the boys and the serious footy chat. I found the long runtimes hard it first, but it's easier if you break it up: start listening Monday and finish on Tuesday.
With Leota, to back up his effort plays, look at Panthers first try in 2022 week 1 finals vs Eels, Cleary puts up a bomb, spilt by Waqa Blake, the first 2 blokes down there are Fish and Leota who throws the final pass to To’o who scored the opening try of the game. Then, 2023 week 1 finals vs Wahs, Panthers first try was once again off a Leota cut out pass to To’o in the right corner. Such a big powerful prop who has a large skill element which is very underrated
I feel like he’s not underrated anymore lmao. If everyone’s saying a guy is underrated, then he’s getting properly rated now lol. Still agree, really good player Mitch Kenny
@@GOATTT2613 its more the lack of talk or chances in rep sides. Dude probably deserves a sky blue jersey at some point. If not a Kangaroos jersey. Same age and position as Reece Robson and Harry Grant. Has been consistent for a long time. Arguably has the best resume of the lot.
Beaks Bag: A few years ago you guys did a comparison between the two back-to-back teams in the Roosters and Panthers. By the end of it, you came to the conlcusion at the time that the Roosters had the better squad. Would be cool to see you revisit that, now that so many of the players will have left and become captains at other clubs and have of course won more premierships.
Someone’s work that goes under appreciated this finals series is Paul Alamoti it was a massive ask for him to replace Stephen Critchon but he embraced it and got better and better each week.
I know Luai already got his flowers last year but this year too its so good to see Luai getting the recognition he deserves. We are gonna miss him next year. Hopefully get to see him in finals again soon!
Beaks bag: Is Scott Sorensen the most underrated of this Penrith team in your boys eyes? He’s been in all 4 gf wins, and he was the only one to win all those comps that didn’t play in the 2020 gf. Ultra consistent and has made sure their left edge hasn’t missed much without Kikau
What a fantastic breakdown and analysis of the game fellas. The amount of work you guys put in with stats and information to deliver a factual and well presented review is second to none. It's so refreshing to hear you guys speak so eloquently and honestly about not just the grand final but the whole year This poddy is getting better and better, it's the best place to learn about the game and the intricacies that we don't see or get informed about on mainstream media. Hats off again fellas this is the best rugby league poddy going around and you guys should be so proud of the product. Thanks for a great season
Liam Henry deserved some level of a shoutout in that panthers review. A rookie prop going against more experienced Melbourne forwards and looked more comfortable in that arena than they did. He even played more minutes than Spencer Leniu in any of his 3 grand final appearances.
Panthers are a champion organization and their best players leave at the right time and for good money. Now we have a batch of players with zero or one ring wanting in on the party. So proud of my mighty Panthers. Well done Storm, if any other team it would've been a blowout.
Like Ru said in 2019 Nathan Cleary had a massive match to end the season as almost a forewarning for what was to come. Is there anyone or any team in the competition that has shown early signs of future greatness recently?
Re the Olympic Stadium. I worked at Twickenham when the rugby union internationals were on. They have to seriously think about having some bars or something open in the stadium after the game. They have bands play for a couple hours after the game so that there isn’t a massive jam on the station. Either that or in the precinct.
For me, the center's for Panthers were sensational, The way Tago was denting the line on the cut back was enormous and then Alamoti....he just looked so comfortable on the big stage. Brilliant.
Cleary for me will be the greatest ever Halfback and arguably already is. I guess people always hate doing the GOAT debate halfway or so through a career but there's no denying just how good Cleary is in all aspects of his game and what he has already achieved and could still play for another 8-10 years or so haha. He's a generational talent and i feel privileged to be able to witness it
it’s what i was saying the whole week. everyone was doubting the panthers centres cause they didn’t know if their defence would be good but they showed out and showed they can get the job done.
Question for next week or just in general for you lads to or the comment section? Considering this is the greatest team ever, how many players from their 4-peat would you consider one of the GOATS in their positions (at least NRL era) To'o - GOAT Critta - Convo Cleary - Convo Fish & Leota - GOATS Martin - GOAT Yeo - GOAT
Love the pody guys. Howarth try vs the Penrith try in the corner (I think Alamoti) Whats the difference? While it sounds like a dumb question they are much the same in the ball didn't touch the grass. If you watch it in slow mo he grounded the ball in play then held it up until Houghes take him into touch. Do we need to eliminate the ball touches grass rule and allow the players hand/arm who is scoring the try to be called a try?
Beak’s bag- regarding the World Club Challenge in 2025- Can Penrith play in Vegas March 1, fly to London and play the winner of Wigan/Hull KR March 7 or 8. I know it is a tight turnaround but it seems Penrith need to come to the negotiating table instead of a flat no. Thoughts?

Big fan of the poddy guys, thanks for the awesome content to help me through those work-from-home days! Question for you all: Do you think it's a good idea for the NRL to introduce a patch of some sort on the NRL jerseys to commemorate being the current premiers? Being a massive football fan as well, jerseys will display a cup or flag on their jerseys to signify being the previous season champs, and I think this is a concept which the NRL could adapt as well and fans would absolutely love having that on the jersey of the team they support? How good would it be for fans to buy the jersey which clearly shows their team are current champs?! Being a chooks supporter, this definitely isn't just in light of everything Penrith has achieved - I think the fans would eat that up and it also acts to remind everyone of who the current champs are. Keen to hear your thoughts on this, keep up the good work and great content.
They should mic up Leota and Fish when they play each other next season. The sledging and shit talk between them will be hillarious! Two good mates ripping and tearing into each other!
Canberra's Ace in the Hole to get Bellamy is Sticky! Ricky and Craig are good mates and Ricky could go to a Head of Whatever role if Bellamy takes over. He was an assistant to Mal during Super League and was so close to becoming our head coach when Mal left. And the Milk LOVES an Old Boy coaching appointment.
BEAK'S BAG: How will the NRL fixture work when the Western Bears come in? Will it be fewer club rounds and bigger rep footy windows? Or will Nine/Fox deman even more club footy with mass byes during Origin? And with 18 teams, will the NRL stick with a top eight slip in a top 10 Wildcard Round?
The trains out of SOP are on NSW rail but yes the NRL should push for better service... I went to the very first SOO game at the stadium in 2000 which was a trial run for the Olympics... I was in the nosebleed section on the eastern side, and at the end of the game I was out of my seat and onto a train within 30 minutes... it was very smooth indeed....
I get what you mean about Martin's attacking stats, but his defensive stats are great in big games. He had the most in this grand final, origin 3 (for the blues) and the 3rd most (for the blues) in origin 2 this year.
Surely you need something at Accor to stem the flow into the trains. Build a bloke in a bar bar outside to fill up with people to reduce congestion. Huge play for financial gains kempy get on it bloke.
Beak's bag: Will To'o be a future immortal? All the stats, all you blokes agree he has changed the winger position and you've said prior, immortals are the ones who have changed the game. If Nathan is tout to be one, and Yeo should be thought about too, Brian To'o, Is he a future immortal?
Serious question you blokes say this is the greatest team assembled which is hard to argue against but my question is do we genuinely think Cleary could go to a team for example the west tigers “sorry hammy” and get them to top 4 ? We have only ever seen Cleary play in the best of the best teams, nsw Australia and the panthers etc? Would be great little experiment to find out the greats of the game ? What are your thoughts ?
That's so dumb 😂😂 he's the fkn half back Reynolds took broncos from wooden spooners to top 8 and people were like can he do it at another club No shit he'd turn anyone into a premiership contender
As someone who went to the game itself. there were various event buses and obviously the train station is there as well out of olympic park on sunday night. i think transport is one of the last reasons why i wouldnt go to accor.
Beaks Bag: If Latrell stayed at the Roosters would they have had possibly the same success that Penrith have now? Especially considering he is the piece the roosters have tried to place for a while now.
Lote Tiqiri and Sailor created the blue print for what To’o is doing. Granted he is doing it the best metre eating wise. Hard to say he has revolutionised that position when players were doing it before him def not his level meter wise.
Beaks bag: Hey boys looking back on the dynasty that the panthers have created by bringing and keeping a group of young guys together through the grades, do you think Ivan could of had some of this success with the tigers if he had been able to keep the big four and helped to develop the young guys that have come through the tigers system that have gone onto better things at different clubs?.
Manly, Knights, Eels, Titans and Tigers are probably the only teams that would look for a new coach. Clubs like Dogs, Warriors, Cowboys and Sharks aren’t going to throw away what they’re building for the next 10+ years with their younger up and coming coaches for a few years of Bellamy. It risks upsetting the harmony and ruining everything.
The idea that the bunker has more camera angles has to be untrue. We’ve never even seen a Graham Annesley review that has shown different angles to what we get on TV, and “checking all available camera angles” never produces an outcome different to anything we see on replays. I think they just started saying that so people would be more likely to accept bad calls thinking the bunker could see something we don’t.
State of Origin was when i noticed YEO use more of the running game as like you guys said. he was becoming a lil too pass happy and predictable. Madge must have picked up on it then must have told him to carry a lil further and it worked. Queensland D were leaning out waiting for the 2nd man pass but he took the contact and made massive yardage. It made them sit back on their heels a lil on YEOS carry's
It might explain why Homebush struggles with crowds outside of finals and Origin? You're lucky to get 10,000 for some club games. AFL fans love bragging about their huge crowds compared to the NRL, but it's much easier getting to the MCG: just catch a connecting train from Southern Cross or Flinders Street and its a short walk from there. And the walk down Caxton St to Lang Park is an absolute DREAM!
Beaks bag: Why isnt John Morris being mentioned as the next blues coach? From holding onto the remains of the sharks after Flanno had it disbanded after the GF, he had become the high performance coach at the rabbitohs (that went to a GF), and is now helping out at as an assistant at his debut club. If the blues arent going to use a full time employed coach like cleary, then I believe he's the next best choice. Plus hes got the hottest rig in an any coaches box, even hotter than billy the skid. Up the blues and up the sharks
Boys I reckon they should have had the Kid Laroi perform a longer set after the game once presentations were done. Would break the up the crowd leaving the stadium so it’s not so congested?
its like there are tables called 'the greatest of all time in X position' and the question is who's sitting at that table.. obviously the boys with 4 rings are at their respective tables. The further question is who gets served first :)
The worst part of the whole try/no try is that the ref is forced to make a 'guess' as to whether the ball got down or not... from his position he could not call it either way...
Crazy that this is easily the worst attacking panthers in the last 5 years, yet they still won the comp lmao. Once in a life time type of defence, arguably one of the best defences in all of sport with other teams like the KD Golden State Warriors and the prime Patriots
Geez Denan Kemp is getting outrageous with the hyperbole - for someone who has admitted many times he barely (if at all) watched the game before he started playing himself he's not hesitant to label every Tom, Dick and Harry the greatest of "all time". Shouldn't it be more the greatest of the last 20 years or so? It's getting as bad as Johns and Gus with labelling every 2nd average play as an "Origin play" during the season.
Picked him out twice in the set then called for it on the override call to take him on. Munster makes a shit decision because he knows Blore is beat. Blore only gets his ankles because Cleary eases on the run after passing. Literally same thing happened 3 plays earlier and Blore fell off the tackle. No shit taking, tapes are literally there. Cleary didn't call an override call to target Munster a defender over.
Panthers 2021-2024 is the top 3 greatest team of all time. Dragons 1956-1966 that won the record 11 PREMIERSHIPS in a row is the greatest team of all time. Dragons 11 straight premierships is a sport world record and it’s more than Panthers whole history let alone this 4 peat team. It’s not comparable, salary cap era or not. Young players leave regardless of salary cap if they don’t get game time just like Dragons lost players in the 1950-1960’s. Dragons also had 4 immortals in that team and the Panthers 2021-2024 will only max have 1 immortal in Cleary. The rest are class but not immortals. Players like Katoa, Taylan May, Tago, Hopgood and others would’ve left if there wasn’t a salary cap due to lack of game time as they would’ve kept Crichton, burton, etc. Imagine Storm with no salary cap today they would’ve won many premierships to disrupt the panthers premiership run and panthers would never of got close to the Dragons record 11 premierships in a row. Storm would’ve kept the likes of Tino, Brandon smith, Hynes, Finucane, Vunivalu, etc.
Must be super tough getting paid to go to the grand final, go behind the scenes and then have to cop yucky public transport to get home. Do what the smart people do. Drive to the game. Park at P3. Easy peasy.
Whoever made that decision drop Gus to the Interstate Cup game on GF Day is an arsehole. They said bias, Joey at a knights game, Billy and Cam at a storm game, JT at a cowboys game, Gal at a sharks game. Seriously disrespectful to a person who has given so much to rugby league.
Always a lot of talk about Penrith laying in the ruck with emphasis on this ep of the poddy about how it affected grant this year and the broncs last year so let’s take a look into the GF wins for Penrith and the average play the ball speed of each team - 2024 Storm 3.19 and Penrith 3.64 2023 broncs 3.39 panthers 3.38 2022 eels 3.65 panthers 3.69 2021 souths 3.77 panthers 3.75 The stats reveal it’s a bit of a myth considering (opinion) I think the panthers have some of the best players at getting quick play the balls
I have always thought Cam Murray was the better lock. This GF is the first time I’ve ever questioned my opinion. Issah Yeo was huge and extremely unlucky not to win the CCM
Can you guys do a montage on you guys talking about the panthers from the last five years. Because you guys were always supportive and true Panthers opinion non biased show. I'd love to see that. It would make a great hour of content!! Please USO. ❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yeo isn't a big guy? Well gotta disagree there lol. 195cm and 105kg is big. Tino is a big boy and almost similar height and weight 🤷♂️ Yeo's size is also a reason he never gets put on his back too. Not just Yeo's game is underrated in the nrl scene, now his size is getting underrated lol 😝
Why didn't you mention alamoti purposely putting his arm in Munsters mouth to try and get him in banned and get a penalty? Grub behaviour which the panthers are all about and nrl continues to let it happen
He’s so underrated. Not a modern day traditional hooker. But old era defend in the middle. He’s finally finding his running game he could go down as one of the best!!
Panthers going 4 straight proves how weak the comp is right now with how thin the talent is and with the lack of experienced coaching there is, i cant see anyone other than Panthers on top again next year
So glad howarth pledged his allegiance to Queensland after that performance. At first, it was frustrating as a kiwi but after that game, you lot can keep him👋
Stupid take as a kiwi im gutted he chose Australia Howarth was on a tear prior to this game and hes only going to get better. Wish he was putting on the Black & White
NRL must get serious on the 10 rule and behind the kicker rule.....Penrith were offside too many times, and not penalized...just like SOO games 2&3...oh, same Ref..

Lads, new Metro station being built at Olympic park. Once the new station is in place the transport to and from the station will improve out of sight.
So the Yeo chat is bang on.
Does that mean he will make “Team
Of the Week” when Brisbane play?
Or just cause Carrigan runs on he gets it?
Beaks bag: How much of an impact has the 6 again era had on the Panthers dominance?
For at least the last 10 years a bottom 4 team has made the top 8 the following year, who is most likely to do it next year?
State of Origin was when i noticed YEO use more of the running game as like you guys said. he was becoming a lil too pass happy and predictable. Madge must have picked up on it then must have told him to carry a lil further and it worked. Queensland D were leaning out waiting for the 2nd man pass but he took the contact and made massive yardage. It made them sit back on their heels a lil on YEOS carry's
I agree with Hammy... It took me an hour to get to Bondi from Homebush it was punishing
Is Stephen Crichton what Israel Falou could have been if he stayed in the NRL?
Boys I reckon they should have had the Kid Laroi perform a longer set after the game once presentations were done. Would break the up the crowd leaving the stadium so it’s not so congested?
What’s kempys obsession with calling everyone a rookie 😂😂
Could the Panthers beat Qld 🤔 wanna hear this discussion
its like there are tables called 'the greatest of all time in X position' and the question is who's sitting at that table.. obviously the boys with 4 rings are at their respective tables. The further question is who gets served first :)
The worst part of the whole try/no try is that the ref is forced to make a 'guess' as to whether the ball got down or not... from his position he could not call it either way...
Munster was the best storm player on the field until that knock on.
Crazy that this is easily the worst attacking panthers in the last 5 years, yet they still won the comp lmao. Once in a life time type of defence, arguably one of the best defences in all of sport with other teams like the KD Golden State Warriors and the prime Patriots
Does matty smoke a pack a day or something? Holy shit
Probably hitting the clubs hard on his holiday. Voice hasn’t recovered at all hey.
beaks bag: You guys always say that To’o is ur goat winger, so i’m curious as to who else fills ur list of the top 5 wingers of all time??
Yeo, would straighten up their attack everytime they would start going across the field, he take the next run just going back thru the middle.
The annoying part is, we are in for another 12 months of boring chat about the Panther's. It's no one's fault, just the way it is.
Lets get to it boys cmon
Geez Denan Kemp is getting outrageous with the hyperbole - for someone who has admitted many times he barely (if at all) watched the game before he started playing himself he's not hesitant to label every Tom, Dick and Harry the greatest of "all time". Shouldn't it be more the greatest of the last 20 years or so? It's getting as bad as Johns and Gus with labelling every 2nd average play as an "Origin play" during the season.
Honestly, it’s been 3-4 weeks how is Matty’s voice still that cooked?
Love how guru says hor clearly noticed Shawn blore being tired but it was Munster fault guru talking shit lmao
To'o should be called Fizza with all the Coke Zeros he drinks.Coca Cola do yourselves a favour and give him a contract already
Bit harsh on Howarth Kempy, the kid has only started at centre for 13 games
Must be super tough getting paid to go to the grand final, go behind the scenes and then have to cop yucky public transport to get home. Do what the smart people do. Drive to the game. Park at P3. Easy peasy.
Whoever made that decision drop Gus to the Interstate Cup game on GF Day is an arsehole. They said bias, Joey at a knights game, Billy and Cam at a storm game, JT at a cowboys game, Gal at a sharks game. Seriously disrespectful to a person who has given so much to rugby league.
Roo's heavy breathing making my skin crawl
Always a lot of talk about Penrith laying in the ruck with emphasis on this ep of the poddy about how it affected grant this year and the broncs last year so let’s take a look into the GF wins for Penrith and the average play the ball speed of each team -
2024 Storm 3.19 and Penrith 3.64
2023 broncs 3.39 panthers 3.38
2022 eels 3.65 panthers 3.69
2021 souths 3.77 panthers 3.75
The stats reveal it’s a bit of a myth considering (opinion) I think the panthers have some of the best players at getting quick play the balls
Storm are the most annoying team to watch, they are still wrestling way too long in every ruck.
The club is a super organism just like a swarm of locusts. OVERWHELMING
Please USO. ❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽
Nice voice matty
Yeo isn't a big guy? Well gotta disagree there lol. 195cm and 105kg is big. Tino is a big boy and almost similar height and weight 🤷♂️ Yeo's size is also a reason he never gets put on his back too. Not just Yeo's game is underrated in the nrl scene, now his size is getting underrated lol 😝
Why didn't you mention alamoti purposely putting his arm in Munsters mouth to try and get him in banned and get a penalty? Grub behaviour which the panthers are all about and nrl continues to let it happen
Forgot to mention Mitch Kenny. Should be in the Kangaroos squad and in the discussion as the best the current 9.
He’s so underrated. Not a modern day traditional hooker. But old era defend in the middle. He’s finally finding his running game he could go down as one of the best!!
State of Origin 2025
Panthers going 4 straight proves how weak the comp is right now with how thin the talent is and with the lack of experienced coaching there is, i cant see anyone other than Panthers on top again next year
So glad howarth pledged his allegiance to Queensland after that performance. At first, it was frustrating as a kiwi but after that game, you lot can keep him👋
Lol dismissing his huge season on one game....casual 🤡
Stupid take as a kiwi im gutted he chose Australia Howarth was on a tear prior to this game and hes only going to get better. Wish he was putting on the Black & White
@@BluntedRazor98 absolutely folded under pressure in a big game. Cya howy👋👋
@@Dmillseye it’s my personal opinion, argue with someone who wants to be convinced otherwise because I literally do not care 👍
@yasmin4281 lol your condescension is so cringe...casual 🤡
NRL must get serious on the 10 rule and behind the kicker rule.....Penrith were offside too many times, and not penalized...just like SOO games 2&3...oh, same Ref..
It's the strictest it's ever been. NSW and the panthers were just too good too fast too fit.. oh I guess you're a Panthers hater and a Queenslander
I moved to Queensland and I confirm that there is an inordinate number of tards up here.
