@@rail_spike_productions I live on the southside so all these youtube channels over the years have opened my eyes to what actually happens on the north side
Wow, nice new crossing signals. 👍 Never knew that Manchester got new ones. The older ones weren’t functioning too well and needed to be replaced. I like the Beach Street Railroad Crossing, one of my favorites on the line. Was this taken in early spring 2024, it doesn’t say an exact date of when you shot this? My other one is 2nd Street railroad crossing in Chelsea.
ericschwartz3559, I have to correct you in that Manchester is no longer the legal name of the municipality. They legally changed the name of the municipality to Manchester-by-the-Sea in 1989.
Rail Spike Productions, why does the title say just "Manchester, MA" while the description uses the municipality's current legal name since 1989, Manchester-by-the-Sea?
That was simply just a way that I chose to make the title of the video a little less cluttered and more searchable. I do understand that it’s Manchester-by-the-Sea as I have lived on the north shore my whole life. Similar to what I have done with some other videos, it’s basically just a method that I chose to make it easier to read.
New crossing signals and old tracks. MBTA needs to replace them. Not a good mix. I’d say some serious work needs to be done in Manchester. Do you agree? MBTA needs to upgrade its infrastructure for the new decade.
End of an era in Manchester, those old signals were my childhood 😢
4:03 they really need to replace that double decker
Excellent video my friends 😊awesome 😮Greeting 👋🏻 from Argentina 🇦🇷
1:04 a 4 car train on the mbta is diabolical
There used to be many on the north side. Now there are less, but most trains have two double deckers which is often enough capacity

Some serious track work needs to be done in Manchester lol.
Note of correction: They legally changed the name of the municipality to Manchester-by-the-Sea in 1989, making "Manchester" no longer correct.
@@mcpeanutful I know, but its a mouthfull to type on a phone.
I didn't know I missed this lmao

Glad you like them. The crossings were replaced in early spring, but most of these videos are from late spring

Yes, I do. The conditions haven’t been ideal for years - that’s part of the reason why they only go around 15 MPH through here
Well the other reason is that they gotta stop for that crossing on the opposite side of the drawbridge. It’s slow to activate so it’s 10mph
