    Looks like an awesome shop with decent pricing. They had the 'Left of the Dial' box set (Rhino) which is really good. It's in a neon pink box, so you can't miss it. Worth a look the next time you're there. THX for taking us along on your shopping trip!

    Super cool visit, Brendon! I went to a 1 dollar (well euro) store a couple of days ago, and made out like a bandit: 27 cd's 1 euro/ each and a couple of Lp's. Then I went to another thrift store and found 10 cd's for 2 euro (all together!). Found some gtreat stuff I had never heard off, and got them for such a low price. Best found of the day: a band called "Drill"-one album only (s/t), incredible female singer. Totally amazing! Cheers.

    Hi Brendon: 😀💿👍. Thanks for taking us along on RSD in Hoboken, NJ. Thanks to you and this video, I was able to go online to this store and get the RSD album that I wanted and could not get locally. My tiny local store called its Illinois branch and it did not have it either. I called a couple of stores an hour away from me and they did not have it. What is it? Iggy Pop Live in Berlin 2 X LP - RSD Exclusive. You showed it and the store had a few of them. I went online to check for it and ordered it. I am keeping my fingers crossed on it but I am already feeling elated! I am not into live albums, but Iggy is my exception. Rock Always! - Heather

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Heather! Glad to hear that the video was more than just enjoyable and lead to you actually finding something you were looking for. I too considered the Iggy Pop as I’m a fan also. But you know me, I’m always hesitant with live albums. Though I do have quite a few of his, especially ones with unreleased songs that never made albums.

    I am seeing a lot of strategic cd pricing up my way where they check the going rates online and then bump the price. But every once in awhile I still come across some great finds for a great price. My latest best was 4 mint Rolling Stone aabko digipak gold sacds for $5 ea. I stayed away on RSD, prefer a more sleepy time visit! Cool store for sure! Thanks, Brenden!

    • @alexxbaudwhyn7572
      @alexxbaudwhyn7572 2 роки тому +1

      Nice find Mondo
      Any SACD is worth 20-30 USD min, usually more. Yes, some audiophiles might not prefer that particular mix, but still nice to have with multichannel
      I've found a few SACDs at thrift store by chance, as they looked the same as cd's, often with no indication on the spine.
      Dollar or less.
      But yes, in general, mom and pop music stores are getting too savvy with looking up current used values on ebay, discogs, though they often miss some or can't keep up on old inventory. Still good sales, combo deals to be had, or trade in unwanted or doubles

    got every title I was looking for for record store day,
    The two David Bowie CDs the kirk Hammett the Lil Wayne. Mariah Carey #1, The Elton John Tom Bell sessions, The Santana, The Rolling Stones more hot rocks, The Chicago 1971 live, The offspring greatest hits, The bad company live 1979, The Everlast Whitey Ford sings the blues, The Proclaimers sunshine on Leith, The solo Gavin Rossdale, The Rick Ashley whenever you need somebody, The Breakin soundtrack, Bella Donna Stevie Nicks. I own most of these on cd but got the vinyl since they were rsd exclusives. My wife also got the live Belinda Carlisle, The cranberries and the classic Guns N' Roses greatest hits among other things. I listen to a variety of music some of which it's writing with this channel some of which does not not everyone can listen to the same music and that's all there's something to be no shame in.

Love the record store vids, I find them absolutely joyous. Also, I thought the Kirk Hammett ep would be more of a curio than actually something I’d listen to a lot.. Thanks for another great trip down Memory Lane, Brendon. Great commentary. I totally forgot about it being Nat'l Record Store Day. I never got to go out to my "local" record store (a half-hour away from my house.) Guess I was too busy with other things at the time. You already own "Back In '72" on cd? That's a hard one to find on vinyl, let alone on cd. In all seriousness, I didn't even know it was reissued on cd. You were debating on buying the vinyl album from 80's AOR/melodic rock band Fortune, and I see you didn't pick it up. The biggest hit from the album is a minor Hot 100 pop hit, the power ballad "Stacy" (went Top 80.) It might already be available on cd via Rock Candy Records. Too bad you came across a marred copy of "The Completion Backwards Principle." Hope you can find another one elsewhere.

      A lot of those glam metal cd's stashed in the metal section are more hard rock than they are metal, imho. Love Tesla, but never really thought of them as metal. Did you find any Leatherwolf in with the metal cd's? Good triple axe heavy metal band from Orange County. Their UMG back catalog albums are super rare and hard to find.

  • @martinsane

    Absolutely floored you didn't swipe that Fortune vinyl, easily the best thing you shared (by a mile) in the video and an absolute steal at $3.00.
    I see everyone commenting on the "amazing" pricing at that store, but oof, at least a half or better where record club, punch outs or otherwise damaged, and still overpriced and that overprice wasn't special it was across the board. smh.
    The Lynyrd Skynyrd album you need is Gold & Platinum, but you probably knew that.
    All that aside, appreciate the videos and sharing your passion.

Gerosa Records in Brookfield Connecticut one of your typical Newbury Comics in Danbury Connecticut and the best for last Darkside in Poughkeepsie New York. I highly recommend Darkside one of the best record shows I've ever been to. Been to Tunes way back when they reopen from the Covid. Great video Brendon , i've been collecting music on all formats for over 40 years .... the thing that drives me insane is how retailers put some shitty pricing sticker on the front of a vinyl album or CD that is near impossible to remove without damage to the cover . I’m right there with you! I’m constantly shocked when I see a music store has placed a pricing sticker directly on a record album cover or cardboard packaging. Yes I’m some cases they come off fairly easy but I’m most cases they don’t. I usually pass on those which is unfortunate.

    At that price range these cds must be beyond scratched but still play somehow.
    I sell mine 10$ each and for the less goods but still always from very well known artists and bands then 5$ each.
    Its sell,
    But they are mint plus i put them in brand new jewel case(the ones that cost 50 cents each not the crap ones at $ stores).
    Plus i put the cd in a sleeve.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  2 роки тому

      I don’t know what record stores you shop at but none that I go to see “scratched” discs. Not knowingly anyway. And none of the ones I looked at from Tunes were scratched. BookOff has a $1.50 section and they’re not scratched either. Generally speaking people working at record stores are music fans as well and won’t bring in damaged merch. Sometimes you’ll find a disc with marks but they’re guaranteed to play and always do. Usually they’re brought in because it’s a rare disc and someone is willing to buy it despite not being mint. But just because CDs are $5 doesn’t mean they’re scratched. And certainly I’d never buy any that are myself.

    Re PKG damage, stickers, markings
    I am in this for the music, so imo, if the discs are complete and undamaged, and all parts are there such as booklets, inserts, liners, then I would take it if significantly discounted from normal condition prices. Also a negotiating point, unless owners already took damage into account, though often willing to do better.

    Yeah, sad that Frampton fell off the map hard by 1980, became very uncool for teens and 20 somethings by then, though Comes Alive classics a staple on classic rock stations all through the 80s
    By 1980+, more albums were recorded straight to 3M, Soundstream or Sony digital recorders in the studio, from the mics, so imo, may as well get the CD vs vinyl.
    By 1985+, most albums recorded and mixed digital (DDD for oldskoolers)
