- I met this old lady at San Fransisco Airport while flying back from the USA to India on Qatar Airways. This was an eye-opener for me. How the elderly people who have to travel alone have an experience! I also have a suggestion in this video.
This video was shot in Early 2021. Amidst the COVID pandemic, I spent almost 3 months in the USA & explored Louisiana, Texas, Arizona & California states in a different manner. Watch the entire series at bit.ly/MTusa2021. #SFO #USATravelVlog #MountainTrekker . This was my second trip to the USA. Watch my first American trip at bit.ly/MTusa2018

Generally, for elderly people it's recommended to take wheelchair. It helps them from exhausting themselves at airport and also helps them with directions. Almost every wheelchair helper in middle east knows some level of Hindi. My mother has arthritis, and I always request a wheelchair for her. In US airports, it was easy as I can go to ticketing counter with my parents passport, get wheelchair for them. In Indian airports, its challenge for them as they don't allow people in without ticket.
Also, sometimes especially when stairs are used for de-boarding passengers, airline staff says just go out of plane and wheelchair would wait at terminal. NEVER do that. Insist that you can only walk out of aircraft, and immediately need wheelchair. They have to provide you one. I have seen many seniors fell for this airline staff trick and walk with pain.
Yes, in India I have seen whenever we have to board or de board a flight we have to use stairs . Not always but most of time. Then I always think about the old people that how they would mange this .

@@Pranay_sawant No, she is well educated, served as principal and can speak English
Time the elderly sue the airlines for not providing appropriate support for the elderly. Its the responsibility of the aircrew staff too to ensure that the passenger is met at the plane door with wheelchairs.
Its definitely disgusting the way so many elderly people are being treated at the airports. Lots of elderly persons are not tech savvy! They need assistance and reduced use of technology that does nothing for them.
Hi there just saw your video you are a beautiful young man 👨.may you have many wonderful travels.thank you for sharing cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 Chanel linda
In this era of 'Not My Problem ' we need more people like you Varun! Truly inspiring ❤️
Let the shift of attitude to "Let's solve it together"
Very well said
It's not an issue of " not my problem " ...some elders don't want your help..... they don't want to acknowledge your help....once a young kid tried to assist an elderly cross the street safely, and she accused him of wanting to steal... most people abstain from helping, unless they ask....she was lucky to have met you...poor woman....‼⁉️🇺🇸
Family member should accompany the elderly! Please be responsible for your parents. Don’t depend on others!
@@bania6180 I really can’t understand how this lady’s family let her navigate this journey on her own. She is elderly, uneducated, doesn’t speak the language, has 2 stopovers.. Unbelievable 🤷🏻♀️
This video is an inspiration to all the youngsters and promotes the message - " When you see the elderly needing help during your travel then do your part. Your turn will come some day when you will be in their position ".
👏👏👏
I do it always and taught my son to do the same not just on air travels but even at grocery stores and elsewhere too. I believe that way someone will take care of my parents as well. So proud of this chap in the video.
It’s not about trust Varun. You’re an extremely genuine and generous person. Could be it’s auntyji’s age. Usually people at this age do not respond accordingly. God bless you for helping this auntyji out. I have an elderly mom and I always look for kind people like you who can assist her during her flights. Stay blessed Varun. ❤️
Mashallah, you’re an extremely genuine and generous person…
I know u are so pretty, how are you
@@damiantaylor8347 stop being creep uncle
Humanity needs more people like Varun, great gesture and kindness, and Qatar Airways is the best, I personally love that airline ❤️
I have lost all of my words today. I mean... being a very emotional person I am, this video made me smile and cry at the same time. There's is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others. You are really a heaven sent angel. You have always offered helped whenever you have seen someone needing that. Helping elders always take a lot of patience, You are a gift to humanity, the way you helped dadi, I was really in tears. You really made sure that she's alright and did everything you could to make her feel safe. I'm very emotional right now, It reminds me of my dadi as well...who still pretends to be strong infront of us🥺. Sometimes we forget that how the people around us are so precious. When you said about dadi holding hands tightly while crossing the road when we were kids and now.... The statement is really deep.I really relate to this. A hand of assurance, a simple line of "Don't worry, I'm here" can comfort someone in ways one can never imagine. I just wanna say Thankyou, for existing, for inspiring, for helping, for teaching us (sometimes new facts about unknown lands and sometimes the virtues of life). We need you in our lives.
So take care and stay safe...you are really precious✨.
Ps. you looked so so adorable when you were waiting for dadi outside the washroom 🤫🥺
@sangita : varun is indeed very hospitable person .... he respects everybody .... his nature is just beyond expressing it in words...
@@udayrm absolutely true sir. He's the definition of perfection. He's the perfect example which allows us to see the goodness in humanity, and he always motivates us to be a better version of ourselves.
@@sangitabhattacharya.745 perfect definition for varun ... so kind hearted he is ....
Good to see Mr.Vagish being praised in beautiful words...and so true of him being a gentleman ....
People are not born perfect, but their learning ,choices and decisions make them perfect!!!!
Lets learn to make right choices!!!
@@sangitabhattacharya.745 very true
Loads of respect to you Varun. The way you helped that old lady is truly a great gesture you shown. It will definitely inspire the young generation of our country. My last words for you "YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION VARUN".
Yes. Mr Varu is a generous n inspiring person. God bless him
You've always been someone above everyone with such high mannerism and personality. This kind act proves it once again. Wonderful way to end the journey. Eagerly looking forward to the next series. :)

You are God's Angel! I'm so impressed you helping the elderly woman. May your tribe increase! Love from the Philippines!
Varun, just one word for you- Respect
The way you handled her, helped her out is awesome
ABSOLUTELY.
I feel sorry for Dadi ji. Whatever may be the reasons, but her family should have dealt with it much much responsibly. Ye galat baat hai. Varun Bro.. as always you did great. Chak de phatte.
its so painful to see her struggling alone. thanks varun for showing us this phase of an elderly’s time at airport.
Why are her children or her so stupid that she need to travel. I dont do it.
God bless you Varun . You really warmed our hearts with your kindness.💕
Your parents must be lovely people to have bought you up with such values
Totally agree with you ruchika. Very nice person. God bless you varun.
Totally agree.such a wonderful gesture .i have subcribed to your channel by just bumping into this video,God bless you
Wherever a human is alone, humanity takes him/her under it's hand!
So true!!!!
Nature is kind enough ,to not let anyone suffer!!!
Varun i will never forget what you said about your dadi holding hand tightly. I couldn't control my tears. You are a gem. God bless you
Respect for you Varun, it requires patience to help elder in such scenario as they are nervous and hard to hear/understand. ❤️
aap sach mai ek gentle man hai, God bless you.... 😊😊😊😊❤️
Poor lady😔 Very saddened to see how she is struggling but there is a really helpful hand in the face of Varun. Great to see this emotion 👍
Great Respect for you Varun. If we had more people like you this world would be a much better place.
This man is the University of Politeness and Humanity . Namaskara and Dhanyavadagalu Varun sir from Karnataka ❤️
Over a period of long time of air travel.. I helped innumerable people in airports however NoBody ever thanked me but I still continue to help people
I have met few old aged people and I helped them like you did Varun bhai. I always feel happy when I help someone. You are great brother ❤️ hope we all should help each other and make this world a wonderful place.
God bless you bro. The way bibi called you kakeh was like she is speaking to her own Grandson. Hats off to you for showing her compassion.
This was so heartwarming to see you helping an old lady and having so much patience with her. It must be so difficult for the senior citizens to travel like this. You turned out be a savior 🙏 🙌. Bless you and bless your soul.
Also,Kudos to Qatar airways for such hospitality.
So nice 😊 of you to help her. Not many people would’ve done the same. God bless!
He is truly the most precious gem person.Sir in every video you earned respect .Thank you so much
Thanks for the help brother!! I can understand the situation very well since my mom traveled from USA to India alone last week. Lots of blessings to you 🙏
One of the best videos ever seen, the concern u showed n the help u did to auntiji is something to be remembered, after a certain age it's not safe to send elderly people alone like this on such long flights... The children have to think twice before taking such decisions bcos everyone are not Varun in this world... Thanks so much for ur concern Varun 🙏
I am surprised as well...I feel so sad seeing this video. How would she manage alone? Varun is such a wonderful human being. How could they send their parents like this?
Totally agree.... whenever my parents travel....my brother sees to it that they get wheel chair assistance.
It looks so pleasant & satisfying , seeing that someone is always there to help others without asking for anything in return !!! Thank you for shearing your story.
You are so kind hearted varun .... you are always willing to help others open mindedly. I remembered your previous US trip where you traveled by Alitalia to Boston and there also you had helped two old punjabi ladies at Rome airport in similar manner and that's why you always meet good people automatically due to your good karma ...... your good karma always pays off well.... you have that helping nature in your soul itself.... bas help karne ke liye tum muskurate hue bejhijhak apna haath aage badhate ho woh bhi bilkul shanti se ....... yahi tumhari khasiyat hai jo sabko bhaati hai varun.... 🤗
Thankyou so much brother for helping her even though it's hard for you to understand punjabi a bit 🙏
No words to appreciate you Mr Varun . Your generosity touched my heart. May God bless u always. Hope we have more people like u filled with humanity in this world who don't compare caste ,religion or so .
I noticed you called her Auntie. What a wonderful sign of respect for her. I wish more Americans were so kind.
you always prove that why people loves u so much varun u r inspiration for many people huge respect for u🙏
The way you help her deserves praise. People like you need more in the world. Varun sir you are an inspiration for everyone. And may god bless you. ❤️❤️
My praising words will not justify the kind act of Humanity by Mr. Varun . Feels nice to see the helping hands towards senior citizens .
I really felt touched brother. Thank you for helping that grandma
@Varun Sir: Respect 🙏🏻
Co-incidentally, I met her too (If I am not wrong) end of last year when she was travelling back to SFO and I helped her during check-in. This very video is published now but it is all your videos that motivates us to help needy co-passengers 🙏🏻
I can understand that woman's helplessnes when she asked you to accompany her, it may look very meager but for her you were her guardian angel.... May god bless you both in abundance.
You are a true gentleman, God bless you, we need more good human being like you.
Baki tum log bomb 💣 marte raho 😊😄😄😄
This is so inspiring. So much respect for you Varun. A kindhearted man with so much patience. You’re one of a kind. God bless❤️
The way you helped that Mother. I m thankful for that. Your Lovely person. Thank you bhai. Humanity still live.
This is really a great topic you have addressed. It is the duty of the airlines to help passengers who need assistance on long distance flights. But it wouldn't harm to have a verified co-passenger for company. I hope Tourist Helpline emerges as that platform which can help build this concept.
This broke my heart. I’m so glad you were with her.
Nice of you to assist the senior citizen, Varun. You are a sensitive soul. It's hard enough to find people who are willing to help the elderly; even more difficult to find young people who will patiently work at building a senior citizen's confidence. God bless you.
I just recalled beautiful memories of my Dadi. Glad u helped her. ❤️ From🇵🇰
Varun, you are simply great. The way you helped the mata ji is simply awesome. My respect and gratitude from Pakistan
we all need helping, affectionate people like U.. salute to U.. with much love & care..

बहुत-बहूत बढिया वरुण भाई... आपने एक बर्जुग महिला को आपने दादी की तरह उनके साथ व्यवहार किया .........always respect you VARUN SIR ji 👏😎🇮🇳
You are a well-bred gentleman, getting rare these days. A Boy Scout, how very good! Bless you Varun
You really did a great job by helping out that old lady, you gave a lessons to all people like us too that how to help someone with such a sympathy. Your parents should be very proud of you. All the best for your next journey. Keep doing great 👍
She is so sweet. Bless her.i am touched. I miss my dadi & nani
Well done Varun for helping out Mata ji. 🙏. I guess you’re right that you didn’t blame her for trusting a stranger at airports because some people get duped. I wish she knew who you really were (a great UA-camr).
When we judge people less....we complain less too!!!! Lets do this often!!!
Very sad to see... I've never left my mom alone ever .. but you're a good son n grandson. All of us shud take care of elders.... Qatar Airways great service
Got emotional seeing this video .. Appreciate your helpful nature for her .. remember time when my father was travelling . He was was not alone but it scare me that how can a person handle himself at this age travelling such a long distance alone. This Video will really inspire other people as well :) .... I have watery eyes
Very heart touching I myself am 60 plus really felt very emotional seeing a young man helping an elderly person, I am thanking you on behalf of her God bless you
Last episode it makes me really sad but it's reality & somehow we need to accept that everything with a beginning has an end.. what a beautiful series Varun Bhai on the way to another travel series with lots of positive vibes . Shukriya.. aap jaisa koi nahi
First time I watched your vlog and am very impressed. Your very soft spoken person. I liked the vlog very much.its very informative also.

Welcome to the eager club!!!
May this high never comes low!!!
This guy is really good at heart . Very rare to see such people nowadays. Be like this forever my friend.
Well done Varun, words are less to describe the way you tried to help Mataji; hatts off to you brother and thanks for being with her. However it was difficult for her to trust you being a stranger but still you helped her, thanks for that!!!
It's difficult to find someone so helpful in these modern times. Such a sweet , kind and generous young man !! I hope we have more people like you . God bless you with all the happiness in the world !! You are a breath of fresh air in this selfish world. Thank you beta !
Varun I must say, you have shown tremendous amount of compassion towards the elderly lady. I have always believed, we should help our elders especially when they really need someone. Thanks for sharing this video and a great job done.
again you made us smile with your kindness and good manners... a huge respect for you varun bhai...
You’re such a nice human being !! Thanks for helping her 🙏🏼
What a relief to have someone who can help without any bad intention... 👍👍👍...God Bless ur good deed.... 🙏🙏
Fun Fact: SFO doesn’t use TSA. They contract with a another company to provide security and don’t use TSA.
You are the example of what we need in this world, thank you for helping the auntie and thank you for sharing this story with us 🙏
You just showed what indian culture is all about helping who need the most
Thank you for your kindness, Varun. Even though you only helped her until Doha, but the way you connected her to the officials was outstanding. May God always protect you and give you something back because of your good deeds

I never shy away from helping anyone. I take it as social responsibility and an opportunity to help and serve the society with pride. Thanks for making sure, she was escorted. Even, though she didn't trust you well. But, you came out as a winner 🏆 in the end as that didn't let you down or any negative thoughts in your mind.
I'm not sure, If she was worried about you filming though.
God bless you Varun for the kindness you showed Auntiji. Thank you for sharing and making people aware of the stress elderly people go through while travelling alone. Stay blessed 🙏
you are such a gentlemen!! honestly there shud be more ppl on earth like u alot of ppl wud of turned their face the other way, but u went out ur way to help auntie very generous of u!!🇬🇧🇬🇧🙏
It's good to see your cheerful face and helping attitude.....probably the children know that some Allah ka banda like you , will take care of their elderly family members in all flights.....so confidently letting them travel alone...❤
Kudos bro... thanks for helping 👍
Proud of you! I'm meeting my partners parents for the first time this summer. They come from Chennai and are much older and polio survivors. I'm so excited and eager to help them and feel comfortable in California.
Very kind, helpful and so sweet of you. God bless you and keep you safe and protected. I am from India. Thank you
What a way to end the trip. Absolutely one the best and memorable series of Varun bhaiya❤️
Thank you dear one, we the elderly appreciate people like you. Safe keeping in a long your travels.
Ur concern about such sensitive yet untouched issues is really appreciable... Apart from being a travel vlogger Ur touching lives of many.. Ur a pious soul..

She be wondering what’s he holding that in his hand lol 😂
Actually more than that she was wondering N more eager to reach her home jalandhar. We all saw that 🙂

This remindes me of your last USA trip ....where on the airport you helped two ladies (from rural parts of our country) traveling for the first time to US ... And you probably did all the best help you can !!!!
Surely we should practice good habits on daily basis ,they make us humble, kind, compassionate and content.
Thankyou for making us remember.... humanity is the best trait of humans....it makes us different!!!
Wishing same for the lady to reach her destination sound and safe and now happy being at her destination.
Thankyou for Qatar Airways ....to show ....if you ask for help genuinely...people are there to help you!!! Faith earned!!!
