A tip I use at 3 peaks cyclo cross is remove handlebar plug, slide in a couple of long cable ties and replace plug. They can really get you out of a hole, I've used one to keep a shoe on my foot after I ripped the shoe fastner off on a rock, also used them to tie my saddle down when one of the seat pin cradle bolts snapped. Both times saved my race and allowed me to finish and get back.
Have a cracking race and can’t wait for the post race vid. You still look light on to me in terms of nutrition for such a long race, it’s amazing how little you can not only get by on but actually smash it too. Fair play and have a bloody brilliant day 👍🏼
May I add an obvious one which i wish i had reminded myself before the Dirty Reiver: Don't touch the brakes on a steep descent on gravel. I discovered to my regret. Oh and magnet mounts for your bottles!!!
I haven't got one myself, but recently was in granguanche gravel, race across the canaries island, series released yesterday on channel, and what I found and although I didn't have one myself, many riders wore the apidura race hydration vest. Costly, but it means yes you have a food instead the bag with bladder but the front pockets you can also have red bull, food gels whatever without entering the main compartment. Maybe one day I'll buy one - but I fairly big investment and maybe too big if your don't doing enough of those kinds of activities.
Sitting in a b and b 10 miles from Kielder trying to figure out how to get to sleep early, nice to have something out before. Would suggest plugs are probably worth mentioning, dr is smooth but has sharp stones, at the second half of the start queue the first 30k or so last year were littered with slashed sidewalls
Hello sir. Im a new subscriber. Im loving your video! If you don’t mind me asking just want ti know how tall are you? Thanks! Looking forward for more video!
Heh ... I'll believe it when I see it. Also 3 gels + 2 pork pies still sounds a little light to me. But, importantly, the electrolytes will help to fend off muscle fatigue.
Kit is available on the Scott Sports website and delivered direct to you. Or you can find a local dealer on dealer finder that will be able to order what you want.
@NowtDaftTonyFawcett better not dip below freezing am out doing a 300km audax that starts Friday night! Should see DR riders in the afternoon as the route passes through Kielder albeit on the road.

Yeah I think the pack should massively help this year. Won’t lie bit nervous as last year was a tough day out m.

My head says I am around 6 foot. But the reality is I am 5 feet 5inches. 😂Thanks for watching.
Good luck tony. Really want to do this next year. think it's possible on an entry level gravel bike?
Yes of course. As long as you have good tyres.
Loving that hydration pack! Can’t seem to find it anywhere?
It is the moto one should be on website. I will find it for you.
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett it’s wicked!
Tip: have a merch company that can ship to Canada because I REALLY WANT A NOW DAFT shirt 😢
I need to figure out how we make this happen. What size would you need?
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett large - black was the only colour but would prefer white.
Finally you're going to fuel properly leave the pork pies till after, best of luck have a good time.

Good tips, Tony; many are appropriate on non-race days, as well. How about releasing that t-shirt _without_ the cartoon on the back?
Can easily be done.
This almost looks like a pep talk! I´m not even riding and got butterflies on my stomach for a sec, Jesus!!!
N o w t D a f t ! !
I am nervous as I know how hard it bit me last year. Thanks for watching.
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett Loved it and looking forward to see those Capital SLs crossing the line for a podium! lets go!

I will be there. But I will be working. Are you riding.
I’ve been trying to sauce that top tube bag without any success, any suggestions where I can get one?
Hey, let me check and see if I can find who has them and when they are due. Are you fitting it to an Addict Gravel?
6. Always wear aero socks 😝
Forecast zero degrees. Not sure aerosocks are going to stave off hypothermia
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett woolly aero socks then 😆
