The daughter of Issar Harel, the famous head of the Israeli Mossad, told the story how she always thought her father was a minor official in the Treasury until, when she was in the military, she was invited to a talk by The Security Boss only to be totally astonished to find out that it was her own father.
Being picked up by agents in a black car to become a spy as you're going to school is honestly my dream.
Add a gentleman’s grandmothers funeral, he found out that his grandmother was a trained agent during and after World War II she was skilled in all forms of firearms and other weapons. It was at the funeral that they found out about granny’s other life. Unfortunately he did not learn of any stories or specifics. The reason why he learned of this is because of the metals that she had earned during World War II, which she wore to the grave. Yeah no written account of anything and never told anyone including her husband.
A foia request could shed some light in this lady's past if it is not still classified and if we are talking about the US.

America is not the only nation that has a freedom-of-information act, allowing people to request the release of information.
Now that's how you keep a secret!
When I was in high school, our French teacher was in counter espionage, espionage, and a spy during World War II
It was something like indeterminate height maybe 5 foot or 4’10”? His complexion was nondescript, in every way if someone would not even notice or realize was there, he was as interesting as wallpaper paste. This is exactly what a spy so just be needed to be. He spoke with in French and had A Parisian accent.
A five foot grown man is NOT "indeterminate height", but a *medical dwarf*.
When Patrick McGoohan's series "Secret Agent" ended, someone at a party asked what happens to secret agents when they quit. McGoohan then came up with his brilliant series, "The Prisoner".
"You are Number six"
"I am not a number, I am a free man!"
Actually in one episode he is made number 1, for a few days. Poor old UK never knew who to believe after the debacle with so many moles that were created in Oxford during the 1920s. It made the series "the prisoner" enevitable.
Simon whistler?! More like Simon Whistleblower 😂😂😂😎
Giovanni Ruslana Vaughn Stefano you forgot, “amirite"
IDK where you've been and how I lost your videos for months but I'm glad I'm back in the fold.
My maternal grandfather was an intelligence officer in a previous regime, before we became independent. I never knew about this until a couple of years after his death(died way too young) when somebody leaked some documents online about ex agents. It was a pretty big scandal when those documents got leaked.
He was just a lawyer as far as I was concerned. I knew that he worked for the resistance during ww2,told me some interesting stories(I would have shat a brick if I was in his shoes. He said they felt the same but they were young and foolhardy plus they felt they had to defend their homes ). But nothing like james bond ,it was more like unexpected situations that they haven't predicted like stockpiling guns for the resistance and a german officer comes in to inspect the farm (or take supplies or something) and my grandfather offers the germans home-made schnapps and they got drunk and forgot to inspect and just went back to their base or whatever they did. Stuff like that.
Maxwell Smart and his wife ( 99 ) only found out that her father was a spy after they told her mother what their cover job was and the mother said that the father also claimed to have that same job but was actually a spy.
"There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets he stays a stranger
With every move he makes another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow
Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name"
......
You know, the first time I heard that song on the radio as a little kid, I had never seen the show and I thought Johnny Rivers had sung "Secret Asian Man" instead. Confused me to no end! Didn't Weird Al make a parody song with that name?
I knew my cat was spying on me.
I had a relative that was a spy for the CIA and only found out after he died.
We only found out my grandmother was a SOE during WWll after she died.
I appreciate you keeping it up at 100% and not dwelling on these trying times. It's like an oasis in a desert of covid19. Fostering for a moment some sense of normalcy, appreciated.
Am I the only one who remembers the animated movie about a spy pigeon called Valiant
I member. Ricky Gervais was in it
Aaah the real life dilemma we all face; when do you tell your children you're really an international man of mystery with 41 confirmed kills and a penchant for shaken martinis?
'A master spy got executed' is an oxymoron. You don't exactly meet master thieves in jail, either.
I just love this comment so much. 🫠
Alexa: Do you work for the CIA?

Drugged drinks and cookies ? .......lucky bastards !

These days, we just let spies into our lives via smartphones and interactive speaker things... :P
twocvbloke Siri is intrusive. She listens a lot. I think I bored her though. Excellent!
Short list to play the next incarnation of Bond: Simon Whistler.
I use two passwords for everything. 12345 and 54321. So they're not all the same. I'm safe luckily.
Awesome video as well.
The best spies are unknown, and their actions undetected
An aspect mentioned was "going into hiding". Seems like an interesting subject for the channel to cover, though the most successful would likely not be known. Asking for a friend.
When my son was around 7 years old he asked me why I had so many guns, knives and other stuff. I said I was really an hired assassin and not a lab assistant, and that he could not tell anyone about it. He believed me and for a whole week he gave me funny looks until he had to ask me again.

Really? I did not learn that from the video. Pleease
in the 80s Sergeant Clayton Lonetree was a guard at the US embassy in Moscow. He got into a relationship with a Russian woman. After 6 weeks, KGB agents showed him tapes of having sex with her, telling him she was an agent, and blackmailed him into handing over documents from the embassy in Vienna.
In the rank of spy networks in the 80's, you had the Russians way on top, then the British, then the US a distant third, despite the Russians having a fraction the money the US paid out.

Dashlane, the software "solution" that makes it easier for one to get access to all your passwords at once. Instead of gaining access to each set of credentials individually, you only need to get into this one and then change all the passwords, including the login to Dashlane. People need to know that by consolidating all of these passwords you effectively change the target and greatly enhance the payout for malicious persons.

I know this as my mums handbag was once stolen and only found because the thief saw the Soxmis and turned himself in scared. My parents are both english. But I've never been told the truth and I dont want to know.
