What a beautiful dance form. More expressive than Hawaiian dancing. I absolutely love the drums with no additional music added, just the drumming. Exquisite dancing. First time seeing a Tahitian dance. Strange how Gauguin spent time in Tahiti but only painted females not the gorgeous male form.
Of course he painted only the women. Typical exploitation of indigenous women… you say more expressive, but you forget they have the same root. They didn’t have a written alphabet so by dancing they told their stories that way.

He’s a guy of multi talent. Not only he’s a good and best dancer but he plays saxophone AND violin beautifully. I’m so happy he won.
