I use ABRP for an initial search, but then amend it to suit my needs and where I prefer to stop. We also charge wherever we see a charger, even if that is not planned, ie when going out for a meal or sightseeing.
Always be charging!! Everyone will have different needs, preferences etc but, like you, using oen of the route planners as a broad overview, then tweaking to suit seems to be a good approach!
Not had a Tesla...but I notice that when you were plugging in the type 2 cable the high power connections are all exposed to the environment, but with the cars I've had there is always a plug for the bottom 2 high pins. How does that work?
The Tesla doesn't have a plug for the bottom two pins - we assume Mr Musk didn't think it was needed 😆 We've not had a problem though when it's been exposed (touch wood)
We’ve toured France twice in an Ioniq 5, and are now here for the fifth time in Tesla Model Y. I can assure you that the Tesla is far far easier! Just tell it where you want to go, and follow the instructions. It’s never let us down yet. Our early Ioniq 5 had no route planning capability, so we relied on ABRP, which was good, but no match for the live planning on the Tesla.
@@chrisrowe22 Love the fact you've toured France so much! Isn't it such a great country to drive around, and on electrons too?!! Can't wait to get back over there next year. We quite like mixing it up and not just using Tesla - plus sometimes their recharging stations are a little bit lacking in conveniences.....but agree the Tesla planner is very very good 😃
