One day when you’re old and gone, your children or grandchildren or great grandchildren will come across these journals and sit and read them for hours. I know because I read everything that my great grandmother wrote. Journals are special.

Aw that's so lovely! I wish my grandmother had a journal :") my mother did though..through the most evolutionary 3 years of her life, age 20-23. Sadly she passed away when I was 12 and I could never ask her about how to manage my first relationship or about adulting. But her diaries helped me through a lot for when I was 20. Her journals were ther for me like a friend:D
Awwwwww!!!!!! 😭😭😭 I’ve kept journals since I was in 3rd grade (not as colourful as these) but Full of writing and doodles and I’m 30 now and I was reading my high school journals with my husband and he said he felt like he got to know me more. I used to wonder, would my kids and grandkids want to read my journal one day? That would be cool 🤗

Just do it! The easiest thing to do just flip through a bunch of magazines and rip out or cut out pictures you like and just make a collage out of it! Sometimes the coolest collages are the ones that are messiest put together! (:

I wish you wouldn't say your early pages look "bad" or "stupid", I know that's how you feel but you should feel very proud of what you create, whether it's small, or not your best work, it's yours. I personally thought they were great ideas, beautiful, and it was inspiring to see the progression. Thank you for sharing it with us!

This has definitely inspired me and I’m stealing this idea. I’m gonna make my own art journal thing starting 2019, which is when I graduate highschool so yay. And then I’ll do one my senior year of college or maybe throughout the years in college(idk I’m lazy and the biggest procrastinator) so probably last year in college and then look back at how much I’d changed form highschool to college. I’m already excited

I was looking for some inspiration because appart from my secret "dear diary" journal I wanted something more visual, but as I am definitely not an artist it had to be something scrappy, but not only pictures because I love writing, and I also wanted to be able to express my geeky thoughts ... its cool to see that people journal in different ways. I journal in full blocks of text (with the occasional visuals and stickers)...yours is pretty diverse. its cool!

I see this and I think sketchbook. Like that's how my sketchbooks end up looking like sometimes. Yeah they are normally for drawings, but all my thoughts and ideas and sometimes things like movie tickets and stuff goes in there. Its like a sketchbook diary. Just me?
I do it as well and I think it's like a smashbook however I love to call it journal cuz I personally think that word sums it up pretty well and in the end it doesnt matter anyway, the memories you capture inside are the most important thing ♡
I think it's a scrapbook , because in this book you collect everything you like (Photos, cards, Stickers etc.)

Making your own journal is amazing. It just makes it more unique then if you buy one from the store and just fill it up. I love journals and most of mine come from Walmart's notebook isle and then I decorate them my own way. Every journal needs to be special or it's not any fun to do.

Love this Journal! You´ve got some pretty nice page ideas there. And thats exactly the way I journal, too! I just do, whatever I want, painting, collages with magazine cutouts, random texts about things that just interest me in the moment etc. You+ve got a beautiful journal-style :)

I’ve been planning on doing a bullet journal, but didn’t like the planning aspect of it because I already have a planner. This seems like so much more fun and freeing and I really like it! I definitely think I will do something like this instead of a bullet journal.

Ok so I started a junk journal like 2 yes ago and it was just like collages of magazine clipping but I found it stupid honestly because it didn’t feel like it had a purpose so I stopped. But I really enjoyed doing it and I want to do it again but have it be more meaningful. I’ve watched like 30 video on smash book n junk journal & yours is perfect! I didn’t want to do a bunch of different book with different themes so I stumbled across this video and I love your whole concept of collage, art, journaling, and memories collage with pics! idk if you got this comment yet but to press flowers its extremely easy just take a really large book like a dictionary put some tissue and then lay your flower on it then put a tissue ontop then close the book and leave your flowers in it
basically the tissue helps so that your flowers dont get moldy and your book doesn't get ruined
i would wait about a month before using them and use a acid free glue to glue them down
