I think it looks great! A couple of years ago I changed my 55 gallon to black substrate and black background. Lots of work but well worth it. I get more compliments with black on black than I did with light substrate & light background.

Thanks, glad you like the real stuff. Did you notice that my son said "Mom, it's six o'clock, I'm hungry!" ? I usually have dinner fixed at 6:00, but the fish tank was taking forever, so I'm pretty sure we ended up eating pizza or cold cereal at about 7:30🤣

I think that looks amazing I love dark tanks but on the challenge of fish poop fry a current maker if you don’t have one it’ll make extra movement in the tank to make the filter able to pick it up👍🏻

You should get a wave maker angle it towards the bottom and itll keep all the fish waste off the substrate. Ive not had to vac clean sand in years!

Thanks 🙂 The landscape company had it labeled as Zebra boulders, or Zebra stone.

New look is beautiful!!!! Would you happen to know what that rock is called? Also, I’ve found that the best way to hide poop is with he salt and pepper look to your substrate. It’s very forgiving that way. Just mix some white into it to your liking.

You need a syphon to clean the substrate to help clean up the poop.
