Tourist shopping malls are usually much more expensive. The locals usually go to smaller shops or local markets for cheaper prices. I’m from Australia myself by live in Malaysia

Giant is mid-range. Good prices at Lotus', Mydin, Jaya Grocer, Hwa Tai as well. U hv many hypermarts that offer good prices. The pricey ones are at Village Grocer, Aeon, Lulu, just to name a few.
