Hi Ann! Thank you for putting this video together and sharing with us your deepest thoughts, struggles, childhood upbringing, and explaining why you do the things you do. I feel like I connect with you in so many ways. Growing up, I didn't have many girlfriends to go to because my parents forbidded me from having sleep overs, we lived 30 minutes away from where all my classmates lived, and I was the only girl in the family, so i didnt have female friends to bond with. I was always in my room a lot and did a lot of journaling, as that was my outlet. I then got my first job after college and it was working for one of the top 4 accounting firms. I thought about the prestige and climbing up the cororate ladder. However, I didn't know how to dress as I was never into fashion, plus being around 2 brothers. I felt self conscious and felt out of place. I also had the tendency to over think things like did I say the wrong thing in the meeting, does my co worker think I'm weird, does my boss like me, etc. The workplace had so many cliques cuz they go out for lunch togethet, or go to happy hour after work. It's like high school all over. I would get depressed and cry after coming home from work for being left out. I somehow picked up on fashion sense and made some friends there, but it was all a facade. It was a cut throat environment and after being there a few years, I needed to leave because it wasnt conducive to my lifestyle. Fast forward, I have gotten older and more mature. I have come to realize that I wasn't the problem, but that the place I worked for was toxic and wasn't the place for me. I worked for smaller companies and people are friendly and down to earth. They genuinely care about your well being. I guess what I'm trying to say, along with your point is, don't settle and don't change who you are. You be you. If it's a toxic place, or people are using you for their benefits, it's best to move on. The grass is greener on the other side. I did take a pay cut, but my philosophy is, why make so much money and be miserable. I rather make enough, as long as I'm able to pay my bills, and be content. Life is too short. Take time to enjoy life and do the things that give you peace and joy.

Thank you for another honest story. I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through, losing confidence in the people close to you. I can only imagine how devastating and lonely that must've felt. I hope you're doing better now and found joy again in creating content, rather than living out of fear. Although social media can feel distant, know that you're never truly alone and you have a community that cares about your happiness and wellbeing.
Regarding the money mindset, I feel like most of us (if not all of us) have grown up with the idea that buying stuff would make us feel better. If we just got that one new thing, we would feel more confident, happy, whatsoever. And when we finally saved enough to buy it, it's only then that we realise that the expected happiness lasts for a short time. Which makes us work even harder, to buy the new next thing, because that would make us happy for sure. This all leads us to working harder, buying more, with the idea that happiness is just within reach.
It's only when we pause and truly connect to ourselves when we find what happiness is all about. It's in the small things, like drinking tea while watching at the rain outside, enjoying a good book, or going on a hiking trip with our partner to enjoy the beauty of the planet that we live on (but yet so often forget to appreciate). Only by spending money on things like this, it has a true value to us.
Thank you for being an inspiration to me, to all of us.

I really enjoyed watching your series about minimalism. I absolutely agree with you. I don't invest in brand bc I want ppl to see me first of all, I don't want to be masked by a fancy T-shirt. I really enjoyed this video. I love that you’re not afraid to be your true self. I just recently found your channel and am excited about your content. I am on my journey to minimalism and I feel like it’s a bit all over the place. Getting rid of all the physical and visual clutter as well as trying to disconnect from wanting more unnecessary things. I’m looking forward to the day where it’s feels easier and freeing. It really does take up a lot of time dealing with it all. I love learning from others who have been or are also on this journey. Thank you for the valuable content and for sharing your journey. ❤️ Looking forward to your next video. :)

Hi Ann, thanks for sharing your story with us through this series. It’s encouraging to hear you found financial freedom from this platform, and that it reenergized you. I love that for you, and congratulations! So much of your story resonated with me, growing up without much, feeling alone, feeling I gotta work hard for money.
I wanted to be an artist as well, but the belief that “artists starve” left a huge impression on me, so I studied computer science and worked as a software developer. It hurt my soul, but I left that situation bc it wasn’t serving me, growing me, or making me happy.
I’d like to walk a similar path as yours on UA-cam, but I guess the discouraging part is hearing about the networking and how shallow people in the industry seem. I guess that’s just business, and I’ll learn it as it comes up. I’m sure not all the people are shallow, but how important do you think it is for the success of a channel to be involved / network with other influencers?
I could also relate to the naïveté and being overly trusting and getting my heart broken, and I’m learning discernment and detachment, but I totally appreciate your thoughts. Also, would you be open to mentoring someone... say, me? 😁
    Thanks for your time!

You find out who people really are when they don’t get what they want. When it comes to friends, it’s better to have 4 quarters than 100 pennies. This is a great video on how we all need to educate ourselves on the basics of finance. You would be shocked how many people were not taught about it and how that lack of knowledge travels into the next generation. I identified with so many of the things you said. When you spoke about the money/status subject, I was like “YES... she gets it too”. Thank you for posting this video Ann!!!

I`m very sorry, that you had to experience the things that you`ve talked about. I keep asking myself why so many people are so disappointing and bad... don`t they know, that they effect their own life, too? They cause that they interact only with bad people and good ones like you change direction - but "you get what you deserve", right?! I still want to believe in karma.
I just wat to tell you that it is really inspiring how you reflect your life and what steps you made in order to be and feel authentically you.
    R - E - S - P - E - C - T (spelled, please :-)
And I feel the authenticity you achieved. You seem to be true and real and just ok with yourself. It`s a pleasure to see you relaxed like this. I remember the tea talk video out of your car where you talked about your resentment towards your mother etc. and I`m truely some kind of proud of you how you developed and chose the way to yourself and to happiness although it wasn`t an easy one. Now I understand myself a little bit more, why I watch your videos for years now - even though you didn`t make deep content videos then, you`re just not that kind of suface level type, and I think I always felt that. I liked the videos the most where you showed more of the real Anne. But now I like your videos even more and they somehow accompany my developement in life, too, so I can relate to you. The older we get, the less stuff we need and the more truth we want.
Kisses and greets to the west! Your true follower.
