I’m so glad the inner loop on the east side is gone! It was ugly and totally underused. It looks so different now! There are new apartments being built and new shops and places to eat going in! Very excited to see Rochester growing! Honestly, I think we should get rid of one more little section of the loop. The section just after you cross the river and go by the Amtrak station. It would make it much easier to get from downtown to Amtrak!
@@peterbelanger4094 there are plenty of ugly car-infested suburbs you can live in Peter. keep your massive heat islands, pollution, and lack of thriving small business and leave us alone. thanks
Rochester is a very good city with friendly down to earth people. It is also a very diverse city and a very architecturally beautiful city. Now if only its economy would revitalize resulting in new and expanding businesses both big and small.
Alex G Weiser as for areas , irondequoit has some crazy history with organized crime, rochester has a great skateboarding scene check out krudco’s story and the long story behind the new skatepark going in under the bridge !

Gr8 job on the documentary .... very sad what the car companies did to our neighbors ..... often referred to "White man roads black man homes". There should be law suits.
I remember my ex-husband telling me stories if when 490 was built. It tore apart Hague St and a lovely neighborhood. The adjustment was hard on our generation and those before us.
The sad part is that the efforts do not result in a lower crime rate. Spend all the money you want and the murder and crime rate will remain horrific. 1/24 of having a violent crime in a single year. No Thanks. The people that live there is the cause of the crime, not the road system. The schools also cost way more to run and are horrific. They spend $23,800 per student we spend $6,800 per student and we have 98% pass rates on standard tests and Rochester has only a 15% pass rate. Go Rochester spend 4 times more and get 1/6th the performance. Now that is a success Biden would support. Now, what is 4 times 6 yep the same as their crime rate. Sad facts but just facts.
Great documentary. Could have definitely done without new hope free methodists. I feel the pastor would rather invest in well to do neighbors than that "transient" community. That's the problem: we turn our back on many based solely on first glance. I enjoy this channel immensely. Well done, and makes me miss my hometown greatly. Thank you so much for your informative documentaries. Namaste

…or just get rid of the whole thing and cap 490 from the interchange with 590 all the way to Mt Reade on the other side of downtown

Wasnt 490 built over the Erie Canal?
It was 100% necessary, anti-car luddite greenie whiners need to shut up.
Question: Why wasn't a garage built underground; this particular part of inter-loop similar to Midtown's underground garage?
My grandmother left me her dress and it says j e Thompson clothing Rochester New York on the tag. But I can't find that that store ever existed
