    Will thanks for the video. I now have one of these power banks with a good discount and so far it's working really well. We have had a trip off grid for a day and now plan for longer days in July. I am hoping with solar panels on the roof and the power bank we should get 3 days off grid.

    Not a bad looking power bank, although it does use the older type lithium batteries. From a cost perspective, it’s almost the same price per watt hour as one of the bigger brands that use the latest LiFePO4 technology. Do you know if it supports DC charging? The main thing is, this unit works for you - it does everything you want it to, in a size that fits under your bench seat - so it’s a win 👍

    Hi is it possible to run a 700 watt air fryer with this all power battery 700 watt.

    Will in the 3years we have owned our Sven I still haven’t changed the gas bottle yet 😂.
    Use it to boil the kettle 🤷‍♂️🤣

      Yes we have that option and for tea alone is great but when we're using the milk frother and it's out anyway we just tend to use the electric one. At least we have options though !

    Does that mean you no longer use the Ecoflow Delta 2 in the van? Also can you charge that powerbank using the solar panels on the roof of your van? Thanks again for your time and an interesting video!

    • @CampervanTime
      @CampervanTime  8 місяців тому

      Correct, we don’t use the Ecoflow in the van now. We use it in the house for the kettle and charge it off our house solar. At the moment we don’t charge the new power bank off the solar in the van but I’m working on it - need to setup our Victron controllers to do it with a bit of wiring / socket etc.

    I have the Allpowers R600. Only 299Wh but £189 on lightning deal and still 600w output. Also have the 200w solar panel for it. I always keep it in my Cali.
    Also have a Jackery 2000 pro which is a good powerhouse when required.

    Hi Will I was waiting for this power bank review but I didn't expect it to be this one which I've never heard of :) our Sven is on order as you know and we don't fancy solar panels on the van so I am thinking one of these should help out if we aren't on EHU but I just don't know which one to get.
    I was looking at the Anker solix c1000 which is quite pricey at £750 without solar panels but there are so many to choose from it's a minefield :)

    • @CampervanTime
      @CampervanTime  8 місяців тому

      It is a minefield and there so many different ones. We honestly meant what we said in the video though, this is our Sven battery as it fits physically in place but also is reasonably powerful and has a reasonable capacity. Plus it’s cheaper than quite a few others too.

    • @robertdon777

      We went with the Ecoflow Delta Mini. Fits in the lower Wardrobe at the back of the Van and a short EHU lead feeds the van. So when not on hook up it powers all the 240V sockets. We even use a standard Philips house kettle with it, rated at 1850W. And yes a portable folding solar is the way forward. Roof mounts just don't sit at the correct angle, especially in winter when you need the battery power.

      @@robertdon777 Not sure how you can use the Ecoflow to power the van 240v sockets. Don't you just plug the 240v appliances into the Ecoflow?

    • @robertdon777

      @@pauricsurlis9191 using EHU cable plugged into the van. This way we can fix the position of the powerbank and not have to worry about having items close to it etc. Just use the 240V sockets around the van.

      If space wasn’t an issue, would you still use this power bank over the EcoFlow? We’re looking to invest in a power bank for our Cali to do more camping without EHU. But my partner has just also invested in a 1500w air fryer to take camping. However just had 5 nights away on EHU and didn’t use the air fryer once! Always ate out. So I’m torn whether to go for a more powerful ecoflow or dump the air fryer and go with the 700w power bank. Space is an issue in the Cali though to have both an ecoflow and an air fryer!

    I know all these are paid promos, but the way to go on new vans surely has to be no gas (and heavy bottle that needs refills etc) and just put a decent Lifepo4 battery and inverter in? Solar and a decent amp charger from the engine and never look back! We have 460ah, 3kw inverter and 100a charger, and even 5 winter days off grid running hob, heater, kettle, toaster etc we never got

    • @CampervanTime
      @CampervanTime  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes agree - after living with our new van (which has gas obviously) we can see real merit in induction hob and decent lifepo4 battery install, with a big inverter of course. There is someone who has done just that with the Sven and it does look very smart. Cost is a big factor here for converters though, as the traditional gas locker, gas hob and a bit of pipework setup is FAR cheaper than the difference in cost between an AGM/no inverter to a big lithium+3kva inverter.

    • @tripswithgriff
      @tripswithgriff 8 місяців тому

      @@CampervanTime true about cost, but its their cost vs our cost, so we decided long ago never to have gas in the van again. You dont need to go as big as ours, as 460ah and only a 250w solar panel is proving easily capable of keeping the everything going and staying 85%+ charged even in the very patchy spring weather we're having currently. Having a big output DC-DC charger is also key though - just a 20 min run with a 100a charger will add 2 days of charge back into the battery. The big 3kw inverter is handy though as we run induction and toaster simultaneously with lights on, devices charging etc and no problems. I'd strongly recommend you explore options if you think its how you'd like to go ;)

    • @CampervanTime

      Bellman is still with us and without doubt it makes the best coffee and milk steaming in the van. For quick stopovers or when it’s raining (ie can’t use it outside) it’s a bit of a faff though !
