That's another proof of the power of charisma. It happens also in private circles that people get mesmerized by a charismatic person. Still it's difficult to explain what are the ingredients for that and why a few have it and the rest not. Interesting analysis, Dr. Grande!
I believe many people have charisma and if they had no moral scruples could pull off what he did. Instead, they have chosen to use their charisma to build their families and to create strong foundations for them to achieve true happiness, real spirituality, and a good if not exorbitant standard of living. It's your garden variety kind of love, boring yes, and Dr grande will never have to do a video about them, but still worthy unless we forget reflects to decency of most of mankind. Just because people don't use their charisma to steal doesn't mean they don't have it. Christ had charisma and he told everybody to give up all their wealth. That's just not the style these days.
In this iconic self defense book, The Gift of Fear, DeBecker, the author says Charisma is a technique and not really an inherent characteristic. Most often charisma is used to get people's attention and trust. Many times so the charismatic can fool or harm others. Narcissists and Sociopaths definitely use this technique.
Whilst this is all true, I have no doubt that a lot of this saga was fuelled by Wall Street types who fully realised Neumann was spouting absolute nonsense, but also that it didn't matter so long as the share price kept rising.
Less so the share price as it was private but the valuation it was able to achieve by getting funding from Softbank. If in fact this had been a listed company it never would have reached the valuation as analysts would have sussed at the dubious accounting, this was seen when they were going to go for their IPO
What about all the high ranking military people that gave Elizabeth Holmes billions of dollars when they had NO knowledge of biotech or anything scientific. Matt is? Jesus. They were fawning over a blonde/blue/long legs/ con woman. Idiots, I say.

One of the themes I see in cases like this is that very often the "leader" is riding a social wave that coincided with their work. Without that social wave they would not have gotten very far. In this case, the social wave was entrepreneur worship. A few successful companies who became household names somehow convinced people that "this time is different". It's always the same story. Some company does something profound or at least substantial, suddenly everyone is on a "mission" to reinvent the wheel instead of just making a better cornflake and working for market share. A highschool schoolmate of mine became a barber. Out of nowhere, I start seeing all of his social media post about vision, leadership, unlimited thinking, a t shirts with catch phrases. Woe. Congrats on starting a business, but you're a barber. Yes, a few super talented barbers may become really popular online etc, but the whole thing just started to become a bit ridiculous. That's not to say pursuing dreams is "unrealistic". I put limits on no man. My point is just be righteous about what dream you are pursuing. Is it really your dream? Or are you just an empty suit, preying on people's insecurities to make a cheap back, only to fizzle out and disappoint. There are a lot of personalities in this space spewing new age nonsense, speaking in the vaguest of generalities, promoting all kinds of hokus pocus and collecting dollars in exchange for not a lot of substance.

I worked for the post production team that worked on WeWork's 2019 summit at the Microsoft theater in Los Angeles. First off the company was full of jerks (the boss kept insulting my sneakers because they were old) and it very a very curly environment. I did meet Adam Neumann very briefly: he popped out of a dressing room as I was passing and asked "does anyone have a pen?" And I raised my hand that I had been twirling a pen between my fingers in and extended it to the man who laughed and took it back to his dressing room. His company fell apart after that, I like to think my pen was directly involved.
I've seen pictures of these places and have no idea how people got work done. I guess it's an age thing, but I notice a lot of younger people can't seem to function w/o others around. They can't even live alone. College is over.

Great analysis, Dr. Grande. I think the only comment I would make is that it is the desire of every person to find meaning and purpose in life, to address the questions people have had since the dawn of civilization. The problem you state succinctly is that people will try to find it in wrong places. A work culture is a community, but probably not the place one would try to find the answers to a search for a deep, meaningful existence. It seems to me when these kinds of stories are told that some people are impressed with a very superficial presentation of ideas and conditions without considering even obvious, common sense problems. Drinking on a job. What workplace allows that anywhere? Smoking pot or being so relaxed there would be no real productivity? The financial losses not being questioned or reviewed? It's weird. By the way, Dr. Grande, I sent you an email and didn't hear back from you. It was in response to a comment you had made to me.
This was so interesting. As a recent grad, I was considering applying to their posts but was always surprised at how quickly it grew beyond belief. I love the analysis on culture, the characteristics of the leadership and his behavior, and how these things influence the development of an organization. There are many companies out there like this ...some get caught or what they deserve and others don't. At the end of the day, people should really be more conscious about what they follow, who they follow, and hold strong to their personal values beyond organizational influence. You never know the motivation of certain ambitious people, how far it would go or how wild their visions are. Ty Dr Grande. A good relief from murders 🥴 I like these evaluations better bc they're cautionary tales we can learn from in everyday life.
Dr. Grande- Could you do a video on one of your heroes? Someone you really look up to and has inspired or, at least, lived up to your worldview. Thanks!
Adam did not use his critical thinking skills when he announced he wanted to be the immortal President of the World and live on Mars. That's ridiculous. Hi Dr Grande! I love your videos! Just sending some good vibes your way❤️
His investors and employees started a new motto after the fall of the valuation: “We Got Scammed”.
This is great -- I listened to the "How I Built This" on this company and wasn't impressed -- glad to have seen through it early
Another good video!
Please consider doing a show about Aphantasia (I have this and dyslexia).
It’s a condition where I do not have a “minds eye” or “see pictures” of that which I’m thinking.
I always thought “picturing” something in your head was a figure of speech! 😅😂😏
Thanks, Doc.
Imagine bragging your cousin is Gwyneth 🤣
My husband's father says they're related. Some people want to be near popularity, I guess.
Dr. Grande, could you analyze the dynamic between Prince Harry and his wife? There’s a lot there to look at, that’s for sure.

Everyone knows if you are President of this world, you must live on Earth! Duh.
(I don't think the *Grand Elon of Mars* 👽 would be too happy with his idea, either. Oh, and I love those lights!) ❤
In Scotland "wee" (an extra "e" but sounds the same as "we") means to urinate or urine.
Love Dr G low-key jabs 🤣🙌🔥
Good Day, Dr. Grande.
Perfect Video as Always Dr. Thank You Sooo Very Much!!!🏜⭐👍👍👍
This is the most bizarre story I've heard.. my favorite part is " the name change " we suffocate 😂😂. Love the lights DR, G
I love it when you got jokes, Doc.
Thanks again for the great analysis, Dr. Grande!

The huge amounts of money are mind boggling!!

WeWork has offices in Dublin. I pass the building by every time I go into town. I wonder what will happen when the pandemic ends, and if the office space is being used at the moment with most people working frim home. A very interesting video, thanks.
When the trial is over, can you do another analysis of Josh Duggar? I'd really love to see that.
Yes !! I just started watching Counting On, filmed during the beginning of the first allegations coming out, to get a perspective. SMH. It's crazy how much he had on his computer and what it was.
Better than analyzing Josh after the trial, examine the entire Duggar family dynamic and how Jim Bob excelled at gaslighting his own children and shoved his daughters under the bus all in the name of protecting Josh!
Yes I would love to see that.
Rhymes with hugger.
The Crumbley Family has gone missing in Oxford, Michigan, and have now surpassed the Laundrie Family as worst parents in America 2021.
Brilliant analysis. Thank you for the great content you upload daily. Thank you Dr Grande have a great weekend.

Whoa, Doc. Cacti Christmas lights. Put on your merchandise.
Wall Street needs your services Dr G.
Always interesting.
It seems more people are looking for "something", to fix " something". With no clue what that "something" is.
Thank you💕🇺🇲
Blind leading the blind!
I'm so sorry for giving you a hard time in some comments about your book title. I see you do understand harm reduction ideology is stupid after all. thanks for being a cool dude Dr Grande.
One of your funnier videos doc. Keep up the great work.
For some reason large companies over inflate their value whilst all the time committing human rights violations and workplace safety regulations. And they get away with it.
Dr. Grandy is sooo dreamy 😍 ✨ 💖
I was thinking if any of the employees of the company watched this video, they would agree with Dr. Grande’s analysis 🌟.
Great video as always🖤🧡.
