Judging by the "elles" part, I think this person lives in a spanish-speaking country, and the thing about spanish is that it doesn't have gender neutral pronouns at all since everything's divided by male and female, even plural words and pronouns (for example: ella - she, él - he, ellas - they, ellos - they), so people who use they/them pronouns had to basically create words (like elles) for them to exist, which makes it really hard for everyone else to accept them and think they're valid, given that it just comes up as something useless or radical when you don't think much about it
Still, that doesn't make it ok to mock or invalidate people who do use them

Sometimes people can get confused leading them to the only thing they know to do, mock others because of their confusion. It’s not right to treat someone like that or for the adults to agree. Just ignore them all and stick with the good people because those people always have your back.

I’m very lucky with my school, there are still the odd dipshits who use “gay” as an insult and make jokes about homophobia, but no one who is openly or dangerously homophobic. I can be open about being bisexual. Two years I’ve had a gay classmate. A few of our students are trans or non-binary, and everyone is fully accepted and no one receives actual slander for it. People would get in trouble for open homophobia. We have an enormous pride flag hanging in our front entrance. Polyamorous and same-gender relationships are fully accepted. The teachers dislike homophobia and will call students out for it should it occur, and one of them (my personal favourite teacher and family friend outside of school, who uses she/they pronouns) gets vocally pissed off by homophobia any time it comes up regardless of who’s around. It’s honestly such a great school and while I’m excited that this is my graduating year, I’ll be sad to leave it because I highly doubt that whatever school I go to next can measure up to the familial community we have there.
I feel like if I were to have to deal with that bs I'd just end up snapping at everybody with no care as to detention or whatever punishment I'm given.

Probably because they are not recognize as valid pronouns. We used "Elle/Elles" as a gender neutral pronoun for "Él (Him), Ella (Her) but unlike English with the They/Them (that are words that already exist), Elle is a completely new created word only dedicated to be a neutral pronoun, so people are not used to talk with it and found it weird

I always just laughed at them behind their backs because honestly some of it was funny (a teacher used to say that everyone had the potential to be gay but Satan had to ignite it or some shit and I laughed so hard with my close queer friends who were also forced to go to this school and we joked so much about being the ones to unlock the school's potential gay). Seriously though? Just make fun of them amongst yourself. Ignoring them works for a while I guess but it gets hard to ignore when people are being that stupid in front of you lol. Anyways gender neutral pronouns, neopronouncs, polyamory, all of that is fine and normal and your school's very fucking hilarious for thinking it isn't. Not funny in the "Oh I found a good meme funny" but "oh I found this video of a child doing stupid shit" type funny. However making vent videos like this also prolly helps but as long as you have a healthy outlet for your frustration lol.
