Well considering that... (Spoilers) Dream SMP Season 1 ends with a Nuclear Warhead blowing up Tommy, Dream, Tubbo, and other major characters, I really suggest you at least watch the most important lore bits. They're still somewhat dramatic, as this is improv scripting after all, it was meant to be dramatic and create some tension that even the viewers can understand what the characters are feeling. :D
As someone who used to watch dsmp and then got bored of it yeah, you’re not wrong! The voice acting is pretty good at times but you can just find a lot of that in animations like this

I think one of the most brilliant things that SAD-ist does in these animations is tricking you into thinking its not colored. That way, when you get shifts in the monochrome color scheme, you don't FEEL the shift, but it really effects how you interpret what's happening. 10/10 Watching this again RIGHT NOW.

It doesn’t really work for a normal movie because minecraft is not realistic and many important plot points would not work in a normal movie, and anime movie or just full anime series would probably work better (it’s still never going to happen probably)
I think it would actually be a series of movies similar to the Marvel movies. Where there are the the big events in movies (the Avengers movies) those would be like all of the Sad-ist animations and Doomsday. Then there would be movies focusing on the big things in each person’s storyline (like the Captain America movies or the Iron Man movies) for things like when Dream and Technoblade are imprisoned or Ranboo’s whole storyline.

The fact that his eyes are green just makes it even better. It makes dream look even more insane. Another thing I like is how Wilbur's eyes are empty because he's dead. Just really cool details to see.

i only noticed this after my second watch through, but i love how dream's mask remains only half on until he's pleading for his life and trying to convince tommy to spare him... then the mask is fully on, as a visual indicator that the mask, his change in behavior, is his protection. and then tommy cuts it completely off, not falling victim to dream's manipulation anymore. without the protection of his mask, dream, bare faced and vulnerable, finally surrenders his last chance at staying alive : the revive book. edit: the only other time he fully wears the mask is during the battle with tommy and tubbo, again showing he's on guard. the mask only shifts from this when he's feeling confident (half), or when he's been defeated (completely off).

the part where they said “so I can control the server” and the cuts shifted from being on beat with the music to cutting in time with the word “control” is such a small detail but is SO powerful, and the fades from the purples to the blue greens look incredible
Sad-ist keeping the “When WE get home!” joke was great as even though its a joke it makes everything so much more surreal. Especially Tommy’s realization that hes been a bit rude to Tubbo by calling him a sidekick
SAD-ist is one of the most brilliant artists I've ever seen ~~~ Lighting was *perfect,* sound effects (the rod, swords, axe, etc.), music was amazing, and the fight scenes were *incredible.* SAD-ist also did a really amazing job at adding details: Dream's eyes, shadows, the way the *subtitles also changed color with the animatic* Also did anyone else see Drista at 1:45? 😂
That wasn't really a hidden scene, that was just showing all the items people on the server are attached too and was referencing Drista giving out shulkers full of stuff that Dream doesn't want them having. Drista wasn't really supposed to be a secret or so it looks like as they show other items that other characters are attached too and that character like Technoblade and his axe of peace. Also, I don't see anyone talking about this, but does anyone else notice the hitsync ( effects and sounds matching up with the bpm of the music ) that is so cool? I rewatch it over and over again repeatedly.
I havent really seen many people talking about how expressive and cute tubbo's "Dream SMP season 3 babyyyyy whooo" and how the keyboard mashing was translated to him doing that little movement with his hands. Fucking brillian, SAD-ist
The fact that Tommy spared Dream because he wants Wilbur to live- Okay that made me go on the feels train. That written detail, that little detail in the dialouge shows Dream's mini manipulative traits and Tommy's love for the people he's close to that make him reconsider what he was about to do, it's drawn beautifully along with the other details that were so cleanly/beautifully animated. I love this so much.
Dsmp members roleplaying: Dream: Talks super dramatically. Wilbur and Techno: Are just Wilbur and Techno. Philza: Is even more of a dad than in reality. Tommy: E X H A L E S.
One small detail that I don't think people noticed: look at the only frame where techno appears. When you see the axe of peace on the wall, on his neck you can see an emerald, indicating back at the "friendship emeralds". What I want to say is that, in truth the most valuable object to him is the friendship emeralds he and both Phil owns as Phil was the first ever person Techno saw as a "true friend" after he got 'betrayed' many times.
1:08 - 1:10 the quick switch between these scenes really show how much darker the SMP has become, and how things escalated. From simple clothes and a small battle on a hillside to a full blown fight to the death on a gigantic mountain. I can also appreciate how Dream’s tower is all wonky and crooked, showing how his antics spiraled out of control.

Lighting was *perfect,* sound effects (the rod, swords, axe, etc.), music was amazing, and the fight scenes were *incredible.*
SAD-ist also did a really amazing job at adding details: Dream's eyes, shadows, the way the *subtitles also changed color with the animatic*

That wasn't really a hidden scene, that was just showing all the items people on the server are attached too and was referencing Drista giving out shulkers full of stuff that Dream doesn't want them having. Drista wasn't really supposed to be a secret or so it looks like as they show other items that other characters are attached too and that character like Technoblade and his axe of peace. Also, I don't see anyone talking about this, but does anyone else notice the hitsync ( effects and sounds matching up with the bpm of the music ) that is so cool? I rewatch it over and over again repeatedly.

Okay that made me go on the feels train. That written detail, that little detail in the dialouge shows Dream's mini manipulative traits and Tommy's love for the people he's close to that make him reconsider what he was about to do, it's drawn beautifully along with the other details that were so cleanly/beautifully animated. I love this so much.

One small detail that I don't think people noticed: look at the only frame where techno appears. When you see the axe of peace on the wall, on his neck you can see an emerald, indicating back at the "friendship emeralds". What I want to say is that, in truth the most valuable object to him is the friendship emeralds he and both Phil owns as Phil was the first ever person Techno saw as a "true friend" after he got 'betrayed' many times.

1:08 - 1:10 the quick switch between these scenes really show how much darker the SMP has become, and how things escalated. From simple clothes and a small battle on a hillside to a full blown fight to the death on a gigantic mountain. I can also appreciate how Dream’s tower is all wonky and crooked, showing how his antics spiraled out of control.
