The problem is Randle could be so much happier if he could just accept his role and excel in it rather than being something he's not (No. 1 option). Aaron Gordon is a phenomenal example of someone who embraces that 3rd man role and its part of the reason it won them a chip.

You are spot on, Randle would be excellent as a lower offensive volume, higher offensive efficiency, higher defensive effort player. I think the problem is that he would probably be paid less. He's incentivized to be the kind of player he is. How many All NBA teams Aaron Gordon made? Coach has to make him play the right way if they want to build championship culture, but coach is just trying to win 45 games to either keep his job or be viable for the next coaching job.

Never seen a guy let his emotions so openly impact his performance.
Sports is so mental and confidence based, he really needs to learn how to reach so equilibrium. This is an art lost in modern coaching.

Hard to have a positive net rating when your team sucks in the case of the T-Wolves. I wouldn't put the blame solely or even mostly on him for the Bulls' struggles either. Bringing up the T-Wolves making the playoffs severely lacks context considering they got Jimmy Butler.

@@rini214 I’m talking about his -net rating with the Bulls tho. His problem is exactly what Julius’s is- they think they need to be something they’re not instead of being what their team needs. A better coach/FO isn’t gonna change that. Him being second option (acceptingly) behind a superstar is the only thing that will.

If one were to compile all the youtube comments, knicks sites comments, & NBA sites comments I've made since December 21, you could write a book on how ive broken down Randle and everything he's done and continues to do wrong, his strengths, and why coach Thibs is the absolute wrong guy to lead this team and worse yet, to be coaching Randle.
And I say this as a 45 year old guy whos been a knicks fan, excuse me, DIE HARD knicks fan, since I was 8 years old.
More yet, I followed Randle and pulled for him ever since I saw highlights of him breaking his leg sooooo damn early and felt bad, so I pulled for him.
I was one of the few fans that at least I know and mixed it up wirh in comments sections, that supported him in NY year one, and I jumped the gun and began my I TOLD U SO tour that next season when he went off and won MIP. I even got his AUTHENTIC Jersey, 265 bucks (smh) that January and was head of the GOTTA EXTEND HIM "fan club" lol.
Naturally I began to suddenly find more and more Randle supporters....but in my 40 years of watching sports living in NYC, I have never seen an athlete fall so hard so fast from such overwhelming adoration, to out and out HATE.
    And for good reason.
I got sick wirh the big C word in that offseason after Randles mip/1st all NBA season. As such, for the 1st timr in a long time, with a lot of sitting home or in hospitals and clinics and stuff, I began what's now year 3 of watching every single knicks game including pre and post game.
You HAVE TO watch a vast majority of Knicks games regularly to fully understand just why now I'd trade him for almost anything. Shit, I wanted to move him to LAC about a month Into 21-22 season for Morris and Kennard, didnt even need a draft pick from LAC lol..
This video tells the tale of the numbers that strongly support why we are better off without him, but jeez trading Toppin makes that much harder, as Obi wouldve been perfect to slot in at the 4 even before last season and those numbers again support that obi + minutes equals STAR.
Now? Doesn't matter. BUt i'd love to see a package for a BETTER "thibs" player (if we aren't gonna FRIGGIN fire him) such as Jerami Grant, or hell, soon to be free agent or not, Demar DeRozan is just one big ball of WHAT THE KNICKS LACK, all rolled up into one clutch player. They can bring along the uber athletic Jericho Sims as a 4 instead of a 5 and eventually roll him out to a steady 15 min a game, to make up for the rebounding--- plus, he isn't half bad on offense if you let him go a bit--- and you add more defense in his shot blocking, which has shown glimpses of being top notch.
Grant and DeRozan both match the money. Gotta make something happen.
He's GOTTA go, preferably to some small market, crappy team, where he can just hog the ball and put up his numbers to a fan base that aint expecting no post season play and just wanna be entertained. Randle gone is addition by subtraction. PERIOD

I know the Knicks don't have any other good options at power forward but I can't belive Tibbs is tolerating this and hasn't benched him yet. Hoping the wheels fall off the bus in Philly and they trade Julius Randall and Fornier as salary and maybe a first and a protected first for Embid . With the draft of RJ Barret and Coby White I've wished for the Bulls and the Knicks to be good at the same time

oh and maybe one of my biggest gripes about Randle, especially because it's SO FIXABLE and controllable and trainable....
If someone, ANYONE, Olajuwon and his training camps, fcukin pull Kevin McHale or Larry Bird out from wherever they are, WHATEVER... if someone taught him just damn TWO "dream shake" type moves and DRILLLLED into his head HOOK SHOT/BABY HOOK to the point he does it without even thinking, youd see a tremendous difference.
I challenge anyone,,non Knicks fans, supporters of Randle if they somehow still exist, to watch let's say 5 or 6 NYK games and really REALLY watch Randle with the ball in his hands, especially down low.
Putting aside the ugly, almost painful to the eyes circus layups and reverses he tries to do with his 8 inch vertical lol, and I guess cuz he was hypnotized into thinking he's a 6'3" guard or something, notice his body whenver he shoots in the paint.... this man, I swear to you, has never taken so much as a baby hook since being in NY----- he ALWAYS has to square up so his shoulders face the hoop. And I'm talking from any angle.
Older fans, remember anthony Mason. He'd use his size to back down/in and if he couldn't spin around thr defender using his quickness, he'd lean his riggt shoulder in and pop up a sweet baby hook with one arm (obviously lol) for an easy 2--- like 99% of strong big men! Both shoulders aren't aligned so that if u paused it, you can't draw 2 straight parallel shoulder width lines directly to the rim.
That's not only called big man/post play 101, but that's also called BASKETBALL IQ, playing to ur strengths, minimizing your weaknesses. I think it's more than truthful to say that Randle simply doesn't possess that much at all, much less to even THINK about a star player exhibiting that low a BBall IQ.
Trading Randle is addition by subtraction. PERIOD....
    once again..
