    thank you so much to including some voice over instruction. it drives me nuts (agrrr) when people make an "tutorial" and make the fashionable and aesthetic decision to do them as asmr.....

    I really like the scratches you use on stuff like the flag and the Texas outline on the money clip. It gives it a cool look. I tried it on a wallet I’m making (just a little kit from Tandy) and I love it. Awesome work man

    Awesome video! Bonus points for Chief :). I saw so many things in this video that got me thinking! Did I see correctly that your tooling surface is very high compared to you? I just use a regular desk and it makes me sit forward because I need my eyes really close to the work and it hurts because it's a bad posture. I love the design of your tray! I'm going to try one too!!! I'm very much a beginner in leathercraft and I still struggle with everything a bit, such as applying different dyes/finishes and everything. I tried using Tan Kote before Antiqueing but I noticed you were very generous with your Tan Kote. Did you let all of that sit to dry? I'm going to need to try that, my layers were much thinner. And gosh I need to develop the patience to let things dry properly. Thanks for the video!

      Thanks soo much for the support. Yes my tooling surface is a it higher than normal. I was able to snag a head stone that a company had messed up on and it is 4 inches thick. Soon I'll be building a custom work station and I will be lowering the head stone. Although it is closer to my face, it keeps my tooling shoulder higher than is comfortable. As far as applying tan kote, I do lay it on pretty think and I make sure its fully dry before moving to antique. To speed up the drying time you can put your leather in front of a fan.

      @@AttackLineLeather Thanks. I'm going to try to make a valet tray and we'll see what happens! Do you use dyes to paint? Or acrylics?

      @@Teyla91 for the vallet tray I used Fiebings pro dyes. I'll use water based paints sometimes.

    Hola.

    Can you do a video in finding quality leather for fire service use? Everything I find seems cheap and idk where to look for deals or quality leather. Thanks from a fellow Texas fireman!

    Are you using paint or dye for the Texas flag and the border? Also, What paints / dyes are you using for that? I generally stick with Fiebing's Pro Dyes, but realize that adding paints might open up a whole new avenue. Love your work, and the fact that you're in Texas only makes it that much better!

      I use Fiebings pro dyes mostly. The flag is their royal blue and red. I use Eco Flo paints from tandy but am looking to try Angelus paints. They look to be of a higher quality. Texas baby "fist bump"

    Great video!...I'm just starting in leathercraft. Can you please answer this question, what kind of paint do you use? Is it just normal acrylic paint? Or is it some kind of "special " paint you need to buy?

    How long do you let the dye set up before using the tan Cote? When I tried to apply it all the dye ran into my other work. Also any advise on using red dye? I can’t get one consistent red tone. I keep getting different shades and stroke marks/lines.

    • @AttackLineLeather
      @AttackLineLeather  5 років тому +1

      You must let your dye dry at least 24 hrs before adding tan kote. If you put a good layer of dye on it can be splotchy looking however, when allowed to fully dry, it will even out.

    Hi great work
    I wonder why you put tape on the back sude of yout tolled leather while tooling
    And why you burnt the paint daube

    • @AttackLineLeather
      @AttackLineLeather  5 років тому

      Hello and thanks for the question. I put the painters tape on the back to keep the tooling from stretching out the leather. I burn the dauber to get rid of all the little hairs. They can get sealed into the project and dont look good
