Played this game fanatically as a teen, took me a long time to finish it and now I know why. I never knew you could collect items with Magic. I feel like a complete fool 🤣
Probably because you never had the opportunity. He's using a glitch where he keeps the power into the next stage. Normally you lose it when you pick up the iron sword piece at the end of each stage, that's why he goes to the door first before picking up the Iron Sword bits. Without those ranged attack powers you can't do most of this run.
@@HowDrab same here, I was like 6, I couldn't read all that well and didn't fully understand the basics of gaming. So I spent majority of my time platforming on the first level and gambling in the shop, but they were still good memories.
I never realized those were pieces of the ironsword. I thought it was a screw and some gold bricks. ...Never got more than halfway through. Now my childhood is complete!
I beat this game on a rental one summer. I found the game quite fun and found it fun discovering all the secrets and spells (even though a few aren't needed).
A little detail - if you buy dragon tooth spell from the last shop and use it in the end while battling the elements. When element dies and falls down, use the spell when element is on the screen. It turns into grilled chicken that gives you full health. And shooting elements diagonally you can sometimes hit them many times with only one shot. Very nice run!
Oh... my... God... I did not know you could shoot at things to acquire them! And I've played (and beaten) this at-times grueling game. Kudos to you, sir! You are a god among gamers.
it took me months to get past the first level. at the time i thought i hated this game but i couldnt stop playing. the gameplay was maddening and addictive.
I never understood this game, Double Dragon, Friday the 13th, and even damn Mega Man made sense. This game lost me and I’m glad someone posted on how to play it.
The trick is to jump above the exit door and shoot the sword piece to collect it, so afterward you fall down into the door without touching the ground. The game doesn't take away your magic if you don't touch the ground after collecting the sword piece.
I loved WW as a kid. Never knew there was a pt2 and Im glad. This looks like a 2600 port of the first game in beta. The world will never be the same. 😆
you keep the magic if you go thru the door at the end of the level without touching the ground after you shoot the item. you get infinite magic if you fill your magic meter up to 100%.
feasel0 i never knew you posted your own runs. guess i am going to go digging now. i didn't go through gdq from this year yet. were you there and if so did you do any NES runs?
Remember playing this game as a kid. The sword is absolutely useless in this game. You have to rely on the jump mechanics of the game which takes most of the fun out of it.😂
I had this game when it was new. The music and overall aesthetic were amazing but the play mechanics were baffling dogshit. My opinion has not changed in the past 30 years
Just played this today. After beating level 1, i seemed to lose my ability to shoot with my sword. Hmm maybe was out of magic and didnt realize it... hmm...
There's a bug where you can shoot the sword piece to collect it and then fall onto the exit door (assuming your magic is not totally at 0). The game doesn't take the shooting ability away unless you touch the ground before going through the door, or if you end the level with 0 magic. There's also another bug (or maybe it's intentional?) where you can get infinite magic simply by filling your magic meter up past the 100% mark.
How a game could take such a gigantic step backwards in terms of gameplay and enjoyability compared to the original is beyond me. It was so bad, they made a 3rd and it was equally as bad.
I forgot how lame the music was in this one. W&W original game had much better music. This was all "rock"-ish. I guess sign of the times. The opening music isn't bad. oh well
When I beat this as a child, I thought the reassembled wizard would be the final final boss, Ninja Gaiden style, but then it just ended... never played it again!
Oh my god the sprite work on that eagle is incredible
Pretty dang good considering it's release date .
Rented this one once and all it did was kick my ass for a weekend.
Played this game fanatically as a teen, took me a long time to finish it and now I know why. I never knew you could collect items with Magic. I feel like a complete fool 🤣
I didnt either i will do try it again and see where i can get

i could never make it past the first level
Haaaa! I was thinking the same exact thing while watching this😂!
Fabio would be proud.
HAHAHAHAH shit
Lol haha
Are you on drugs? Who the fuck is fabio
Damn you're good at this game. This has some of my favorite music from any NES game.
duh duh duh duh-duh duh-duh duh duh
Truely love this game. my childhood memories are engaged.
doyzerI420 same here. Ironsword, Dragon Warrior, Gauntlet, and Little Nemo: Dream Master were my games of choice back in the day.

Shooting diagonally was my favorite thing when I played. I used to call it the lightning attack.
Didn't know the full health thing there. That's crazy. And it's dragon's tooth ^^
Why the windbane have Abobo's face?
Oh... my... God... I did not know you could shoot at things to acquire them! And I've played (and beaten) this at-times grueling game. Kudos to you, sir! You are a god among gamers.
I didn't know that you can cast spells on the items to acquire them, either.
the tunes tho!!!!
I was probably three years of age when I played this game, brings back some memories
Some games back then just made no sense, this included. But I love the hip hop beat to it haha
The game where you play as Fabio, and the first thing that happens is getting smacked in the face by birds.
Had no idea this game had sequels.
Loved it,,it is really different,,had a world to it self,,,way above those years games,,, still in my head
The flight animation of the bird at the beginning was really good for NES.
Ive been looking for this game for 10 years...and I've finally found it..whoa
Almighty Kuros! defeated the evil Malkil! D:
In the late 80s very early 90s my brother and I would play this game everyday in the summertime home from school, it’s a part of my Childhood
I remember playing this as a child and we never made it past stage 3... thanks for showing me the complete game!
I could only beat this with Game Genie as a kid!
Thank you for the sliver of my childhood memory returned to me.
it took me months to get past the first level. at the time i thought i hated this game but i couldnt stop playing. the gameplay was maddening and addictive.
This game got the best of me as a kid, but I've finally beaten it!! You make it look easy. Nice run!!
I bet these old abstract games are incredibly easy now. When you were 8,9,10 years old they kind of kicked your ass though.
@@omegasupreme5527 Lol, not this one. It's a hard game, for sure.
Such a great game
5:13 how did your magic meter go up like that?
It's a glitch. Fill your magic up completely, then when your magic is depleted, you can keep shooting, and it refills.
@@TheACcam More like a game genie.
@@gamblincabbie9505 While that is literally possible, what I mentioned is a well documented glitch. Try it yourself.
Bear level used to kick my butt. The tankard would never rise. :(
Just have to stand on that platform. But there is no hint or indication.
Awesome run💪🏼. One of my childhood favorites.
One of favorite games. But I felt like the sword was useless. Everything always hit you.
lol at the credits 10:35 did 3 people make this game????
David Wise credited simply as "Rare Ltd" for the music
Some of the best nes music ever
Beat the first one, never beat this one... sweeet
I didn't know that the magic could get the key items. What caused the full magic restore when fighting the fire boss?
If you fill the magic meter beyond maximum the game gives you infinite magic. Probably a glitch.
i wanna see a video showing all the hidden doors in a small clip make sure not missing any
This soundtrack is unreal
I never understood this game, Double Dragon, Friday the 13th, and even damn Mega Man made sense. This game lost me and I’m glad someone posted on how to play it.
The Water and Fire Demons look so silly
Well played, sir.
I cant believe its not butter.
How in the blue blazes did you keep the Bane spells for the elementals between levels?
The trick is to jump above the exit door and shoot the sword piece to collect it, so afterward you fall down into the door without touching the ground. The game doesn't take away your magic if you don't touch the ground after collecting the sword piece.
@@feasel A very speedrunny thing to do indeed!
Always thought this bear looks like a simpsons character: 6:12
Koala Nectar all these years later I still think it looks like a rat.
Man. 12-year-old me would be so frustrated to know I came so close to the end of the game. Died at the end boss fight more than once.
Picked this shit up today.. had a ton of trouble.. but after seeing this video, I hope I got my bearings down..
I loved WW as a kid. Never knew there was a pt2 and Im glad. This looks like a 2600 port of the first game in beta. The world will never be the same. 😆
Wish these Wizard and Warriors became like Legend of Zelda later on 3d games would've been cool just like all three nes wizards and warriors games!
Great game . Nice job
i love all ost so perfect same the game
With a few improvements, this could be a great game.
Nice run Man!!! I think i never made it More than 2nd level
凄い!速すぎる!
Music flash backs
how did yoy never run out of magic and keep the spells that beat the bosses throughout the levels?
you keep the magic if you go thru the door at the end of the level without touching the ground after you shoot the item. you get infinite magic if you fill your magic meter up to 100%.
feasel0 i never knew you posted your own runs. guess i am going to go digging now. i didn't go through gdq from this year yet. were you there and if so did you do any NES runs?
i did at agdq
@hazeroid Learn the speedrun types. Any% means all methods are ok to complete the game.

I both loved and hated this game
the wizards and warriors series always reminds me of the neverending story, dont know why, it just does
Amazing game 😃😃🤘🤘
Very impressive
Couldn’t get passed the first level of this game
Some of those enemies were very questionable.
aren't you supposed to gamble for 10 min?
Took me 12 months to beat the game just got beat at 12 minutes

Good but not great as the orginal.
This game was garbage compared to the first one
One of the worst final bosses in video game history. Just awful.
When I beat this as a child, I thought the reassembled wizard would be the final final boss, Ninja Gaiden style, but then it just ended... never played it again!
It's not that bad. I've seen much worse.
@@subzero8679 You're right. But this guy is on up there. Let's have it - who's worse?
@SlyBeast Dracula in Simon's Quest is much worse. He's super easy to beat. At least the Ironsword boss has a little bit of a challenge.
@SlyBeast Also, in Jaws for the NES, the final battle with Jaws is an absolute joke. Probably even easier than Dracula in SQ. No challenge at all.
Cheater
Lol, because you can't beat it he's a cheater? Sounds about right from a loser.
Worst boss music ever
No it isn't
